Rise Of The Death Monarch

Chapter 75: Leave None Standing

Dante woke up the next morning to Luna and Lilith arguing about something; his eyes opened as he put a stop to it. ''Can you two stop talking so loud, please?''

They went silent causing him to question. ''Now what's got you too so heated?''

''Lily nearly got caught by the humans back at the castle,'' the wolf woman revealed. ''She could've exposed the Domain and you to their foul light magic.''

''But I wasn't, I managed to get away from those fools,'' the blonde snapped. ''There's no way for them to track me, so it's okay.''

He waved it away, explaining. ''It doesn't matter thanks to my magic, it doesn't allow anyone who I don't want in here to get inside.''

Luna looked relieved, and Lilith beamed when realizing she wasn't going to get scolded for scouting out the fortress. Moments later, the Death Witch spoke once again. ''It looks like the humans are moving toward the capital. They also have a plan to use an assassin against you once they finally meet us.''

Dante's eyebrow rose as a evil grin crossed his face. ''Good, I need to get more powerful undead to make more Death Knights. S-Ranks will be good for such a thing and won't die out quickly.''

The two women nodded in agreement, after the argument was ended, the trio relaxed for a while as the nearby fireplace sent warm air spreading throughout the living room. After some hours, Lilith jumped up, announcing. ''I'm going to experiment on more of the undead. I want to see if I can make stronger creatures.''

''Alright,'' he replied. ''Sounds good to me, I'm gonna rest, it's too cold to go out.''

When the blonde heard this, she giggled in response before walking out of the treehouse as Luna dragged a blanket toward him, a loving smile appearing on her pretty face. This caught his attention, prompting him to ask. ''What are you doing?''

''I want to cuddle up, it's too cold for me,'' she answered, a sly smile on her face.

Dante dragged the brown skinned beauty into his lap. Shortly after that, she resting her head on his shoulder as the duo warmed up instantly thanks to the body heat. Luna got even more comfortable and soon fell asleep. Minutes later, the older woman was letting out an adorable snore, putting a smile on his face as he played with her snow white hair.

The gesture calmed the wolf woman, her tail swaying softly from side to side. Soon after, warmed by the moment, he drifted into a peaceful sleep. He awoke the next morning, realizing the older woman was gone, but the clatter of pots and pans from the kitchen revealed her whereabouts.

Just then, Lilith reappeared in the treehouse, looking exhausted as she smiled at him. ''Morning, handsome, sorry I was out late but I've been a busy woman.''

''How was the transformation? Did we get any stronger creatures?'' he curiously questioned.

The blonde offered him a weary smile before responding. ''Yes, I transformed most of the Ghouls into stronger versions of themselves.''

''Good,'' he replied.

Shortly after that, the white-haired woman handed Lilith a cup of hot chocolate, revealing. ''This will give you some energy, I'm testing new recipes to help us on our journey.''

''Thanks Luna,'' she said with a bright smile, taking the offering.

Just then, Dante looked at the women and informed the duo of his next plans. ''I'm going to continue north, sitting in the Domain is driving me mad.''

Their heads snapped in his direction, eyes narrowed as Lilith was the first to speak. ''Why risk it? The humans may be there?''

''They won't, I'm sure the group has rushed to the capital,'' he responded, a confident glint in his eye. ''Their goal is to kill me and inform the Darkmoore King about my presence on Dawnfen.''

Lilith looked surprised at his words but he continued. ''I'll move northwest to confuse them even more, destroying their cities which should ruin the kingdom over time, thanks to the tax revunue vanishing into my realm as undead.''

When the two women heard this, Luna began laughing as she nodded. ''Well you can go but use the Death Wyvern, that thing is watchful and hates humans as much as you do.''

Dante nodded and suddenly hugged the two women before opening a portal to the real world where he'd have some fun. He stepped through after saying his goodbyes only to appear outside a burning castle, his eyes narrowed when sensing the heroes mana radiating off the flames.

'Looks like they burned everything,' he mused, chuckling. 'Scared of my magic maybe?'

He shrugged, not caring about their reason, he found it amusing. Moments later, Dante summoned the Wyvern who stepped out of the Domain, it's serpertine neck snaking through the portal. It lowered it's large body allowing him to climb on its back as he got comfortable just as the monster took off with a powerful flap of its massive wings.

They soared into the sky, heading further norther. While doing this, he checked the new monster the system gave him as a reward.

[Create Death Eater - Cost: 10,000 Death Points - 1 Corpse]

'What the fuck is this? I'm not spending that much on something I don't know,' he internally complained at the cost.

Following that, the Death Wyvern crossed miles only to growl some time later, catching his attention. Dante was in a daze but shook his head and glanced in the direction the beast was pointing out he saw a small farming village. A wicked grin crossed his face before he ordered. ''Destroy the place, you need to have some fun.''

When hearing the command, the monster unleashed a thunderous roar that reverberated across the land, shaking the very air. With a gleam of hunger in its eyes, it dove toward the settlement below. As it descended, its massive wings cast an ominous shadow over the village.

Dante caught sight of the Darkmoore flag fluttering among the rooftops. this helped him not be bothered abotu slaughtering everyone inside. Moments later, the beast crashed into the village square with earth-shattering force, its jagged claws tearing into the cobblestones like they were nothing.

In a instant, it snapped its jaws around a fleeing woman, biting her in half as screams of panic and chaos erupted. The Death Wyvern dominated the square, its scales glinting like polished obsidian under the morning sun. With each beat of its massive wings, gusts of wind tore through the settlement, toppling carts and ripping shutters from their hinges.

Its jaws dripped with blood as it lunged, snatching another fleeing villager in its claws and crushing them with a sickening crunch. Houses splintered under its thrashing tail, and the air filled with the smell of smoke and blood as flames began to lick at the edges of the chaos thanks to the village not knowing what was happening.

Screams mingled with roars, creating a cacophony that drowned out all hope. Dante gripped the spines along its neck, his dark cloak billowing in the wind. His cold red eyes surveyed the carnage below with a twisted sense of satisfaction. The village was now a graveyard, and he reveled in its destruction. Raising a hand, he summoned more monsters.

Rotlings rushed out of a nearby portal, the things were a perverse mockery of the children they once were. Their flesh was pale and decayed, stretched taut over warped bones, with hollow eyes glowing faintly with a sickly green light. Jagged teeth jutted out, and their twisted limbs moved as they obeyed his unspoken command.

Once innocent, these abominations were bound to his will, humanity stripped away by the death magic. They surged forward, a chittering horde, tearing into the fleeing villagers like monsters. A man wielding a pitchfork was swarmed, his screams cut short as the Rotlings overwhelmed him, their claws ripping flesh from bone.

Dante's lips curled into a evil smile as he urged the Wyvern forward, its massive talons gouging deep furrows into the earth. The beast let out another earth-shaking roar. It lunged at a cluster of villagers attempting to barricade themselves in a barn, smashing through the wooden walls as if they were kindling.

Splinters flew, and the Wyvern's jaws closed around another victim, blood spraying across the debris. The Rotlings followed, skittering through the wreckage, hunting down anyone who still drew breath. From his vantage point, he watched the annihilation unfold, his heart untouched by the suffering below.

The village was now a pyre, flames and smoke rising into the sky as the Wyvern and the swarm left nothing but ruin in their wake. He leaned forward, whispering. ''Leave none standing.''

Datne watched the monsters red eyes gleamed, and with a final, devastating sweep of its wings, it launched into the air, circling the dying village as the Rotlings continued their slaughter below. Survivors tried to flee but the child-like creatures washed over them, claws tearingt through them.

An hour later, the Death Wyvern was resting in the square eating some of the people's lifestock as the Rotlings dragged bodies toward a nearby portal, dumping them into the Domain to stockpile on corpses.
