Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1049: Targeted by the Demon God

The moment the Demon God gave them the death sentence, they immediately felt the terrifying pressure bearing on them…

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Even the barren rock cracked beneath them, and there were also blue flames gushing outward from the cracks of the earth!

"Formation!" Kaela barked, her voice cutting through despair.

Her two Sky Immortal bodyguards immediately drew their weapons and unleashed their own Shadow Celestial Invocations.

From their bodies, the same divine markings lit up as they started to summon the deities or spirits that could possess their bodies…

Indeed, they had no choice but to swiftly go all out, or they may not even have the chance to show their strength!

They all moved at the same time as they summoned deities to descend and possess them.

This time, however, they seemed to have different deities summoned.

Vale wasn't sure about the rules behind this, but he could tell that they were all equally powerful.

Soon, he watched as a pale phantom of a war-god enveloped one of the sky immortals, while the other merged with the spirit of a heavenly judge…

Well, Vale saw the spirit with a long robe and a gavel, so he could only assume that it was a judge or something similar.

Kaela herself also summoned once more… This time, Vale felt that she was already getting strained with too much Shadow Divinity being used…

Her staff trembled as her body became the vessel of another godly spirit… It was different from the white spirit from before…

Still, it had an oppressive aura that could somehow resist the Demon God's suffocating presence.

"You all must escape!" Kaela shouted before she was completely possessed…

She was referring to Vale and the other weaker Immortals. She knew that surviving against a Demon God that was quite equal to an Arcane Immortal wasn't just dangerous, it was definitely a sure death.

They could not be eliminated here and there must be a survivor or two at the very least.

Just like that, the ground shook violently as the three Sky Immortals roared in unison…

They did this to disrupt the Demon God, hoping that their voices, infused with divine resonance, could disrupt it.

However, the Demon God was too powerful, and he simply charged forward, aiming to capture Kaela, the strongest of the group.

Still, it was a lot better than targeting Vale and the others. Kaela accepted her fate and gathered all her Divinity.

The two bodyguards, however, stood at the front, intercepting the Demon God's advancing might.

"Fine! Hold him back!" Kaela commanded as she aimed for a counterattack.

In the meantime, the Lesser Immortals didn't escape at all.

Under Vale's lead, they unleashed their Shadow Arts desperately… Countless blades of shadow, lances of darkness, and other curses were released but swallowed by the surging blue inferno coming from the Demon God.

Vale clenched his fists as he knew that he had to work as well...

Still, he had experienced how his Divine Extraction was sensed by the previous Death God and even the Eminence of the Sea.

Because of that, he knew that his first move must not be the Divine Extraction, or he would get easily marked by the Demon God. He had to do it once he was guaranteed that his target wouldn't be able to escape from his Extraction.

For now, he used his newest Fused Spells.

"Umbral Dominion… Let's see how you'd fare against the Demon God." He muttered.

At once, the shadows within a hundred meters warped violently, bending to his will.

The surroundings turned darker and soon, countless black hands started appearing from the ground…

From Vale's spot, there was even a dark throne of obsidian formed faintly behind him. Of course, it was just a symbol of his sovereignty over the darkness.

The others immediately knew that this was Vale's fusion Spell to reach the Earth Immortal. It was definitely a lot stronger compared to the others in terms of its presence.

Still, Vale felt excited as power swelled in his veins…

Every movement he made pulled more shadows into his grasp. He felt really strong right now and wanted to release his power to a target.

The Demon God, who was still getting used to the possessed bodies of Kaela and her bodyguards, also noticed Vale's increase in power.

"So that Immortal commands shadows to such an extent… amusing." The Demon God muttered as he realized that Vale seemed to have chosen the path of Shadow alone. He believed that Vale didn't have any other Spells like Spirit Arts or other Arcane Arts and had only dedicated himself to the Shadow Arts.

After all, the Shadow Spell Mastery he had just shown was on another level.

But Vale wasn't finished. He knew that Umbral Dominion alone wasn't enough.

Soon, he used another one of his powerful Spells.

"Abyssal Sovereign…" he whispered.

As soon as he said this, the shadows he had just gathered with his Umbral Dominion started moving closer to him and cloaking him.

When he emerged, his form had changed.

He now wore black robes made from corrupted Divinity itself...

The distinct transformation was also the skull-shaped coronet on him…

Well, Abyssal Sovereign was from Soul Extractor, Demon Eyes, Demonic Energy Suction, and other essences from the Death God…

Vale wasn't sure how it would hold up against a Demon God, but he was hopeful about this.

As he saw the Demon God busy with Kaela and the other two, he lifted his hand and moved the surrounding shadows.

It wasn't a spell, but it was his control over his Umbral Dominion alone!

Just like that, black bindings with the form of a hand started wrapping around the Demon God's limbs.

However, the Demon God merely raised one clawed hand.

Then, blue fire surged, and the bindings he created shattered like brittle glass.

"You over there… I don't think you summoned the Death God to possess you. That's an interesting ability. Let me have that Spell…" The Demon God said as he suddenly pushed away Kaela and the others…

"NO! Vale, run!" Kaela shouted
