Back inside, the cathedral was in chaos.

The ceiling was gone, the stained glass was shattered, and it had a suffocating pressure of divinity coming from the two sides.

Vale took a deep breath as he looked at his desperate opponents…

"A Sealing Formation?" Vale muttered as he recognized the formation they were trying to use against him.

If it were his original body, his Divine Extraction would surely resolve this matter quite easily.

However, he was only an Avatar at the moment. Because of that, he had to be careful treading this matter.

"Seal him now!"

One of the Immortals shouted. Suddenly, the sealing formation that the enemy had been preparing for him activated…

The three Chaos Immortals formed a triangle around Vale's form, forcing him to remain in place as the chaos energy started gathering around him.

Mennena's Spiritual Form got closer and spread her hands. Her transparent arms reached toward Vale's body.

"Submit… child of shadow…" She said…

It was the sound of a distorted voice, like a hundred whispers trying to hypnotise him.

Vale stood calmly in the center of it all as he protected his own body.

"Do it!" one of the Chaos Immortals ordered, veins were already bulging on his forehead as he poured divine essence into the circle.

"Bind his Soul, shatter his Divine Core!"

Three waves of sealing runes shot outward, wrapping around Vale like chains.

The floor trembled, and the void above them distorted as the Chaos Energy was just too much!

It wouldn't be surprising if the space around them collapsed at any moment!

However, Mennena's spectral body charged forward to ensure that Vale wouldn't get a chance to escape!

"Your soul is mine now!"

Her translucent fingers pierced through Vale's chest and grasped what appeared to be a faint, golden light… It was his Soul Thread.

The moment her hand made contact, a deep vibration burst from within Vale's form. It was so loud that even the Chaos Immortals flinched.

But Vale didn't resist.

He simply lowered his head, as if in acceptance. However, in truth, he had already analyzed the Formation Array…

Mennena's eyes glowed in elation as she obtained Vale's 'soul'.

"At last… your soul… is--"

Her words froze.

The "Soul Thread" she had grasped suddenly crumbled to ash. Not destroyed… but nonexistent.

"What… is this?!"

A shadow pulse exploded outward, sending all three Chaos Immortals flying back.

The sealing runes cracked and vanished like dying embers.

Vale slowly raised his gaze.

His form was still intact, but faint cracks of light appeared across his body, revealing that what stood before them wasn't a true vessel of life… It was only a shell made of spirit fragments.

Vale then chuckled.

"You're trying to seal something that isn't here."

His tone was calm, yet it carried an eerie chill.

The Chaos Immortals froze. One of them stumbled backward, shaking his head.

"Impossible! We felt your Soul Presence!"

Vale chuckled faintly. "That was only what I allowed you to feel."

A terrifying realization dawned on them.

"Y-you---"

They hadn't been sealing Vale's Soul.

They'd been fighting a projection, an Avatar, or animated by a portion of his Spirit!

Because of that, their Soul Sealing Formation was useless against Vale!

Even Mennena, an Arch Fey, failed to notice Vale's true appearance…

Still, before they could react, black flames burst from Vale's shadow.

They weren't normal flames… They devoured light and essence alike. It was Vale's Ember Spirit in action!

The runes on the ground melted away one by one.

Mennena's Spiritual Form also screamed.

Her figure began to distort, collapsing inward as the seal backfired…

"No--This Isn't Possible! You… I'm not done with you, Shadow Immortal!"

Vale lifted a hand. His palm glowed with his Vampiric Fist active…

"You shouldn't have tried to wear this crown…" Vale muttered.

As he said this, he opened his Shadow Gate and stored the Red Crown that was still trembling violently as if resisting his control.

The Chaos Immortals stared in horror.

"The Red Crown… He's sealing it!"

They wanted to stop Vale, but he wasn't an easy opponent… Aside from his Ember Spirit, he summoned his Wind Spirit, and Moonlight Specter as well!

Vale's eyes turned pure black as he used a lot of energy to completely seal the rampaging Red Crown!

Apparently, it somehow knew that it was about to get sealed and tried everything it could do to escape from his hands!

Still, Vale was stronger…

His shadow expanded, swallowing the relic whole… Just like that, he closed the Shadow Gate, sealing the Red Crown until he willed it to come out.

The Chaos Immortals could only stare at it in disbelief.

Finally, Vale was focused on the enemies in front. He no longer had to use a part of his energy, sealing that Red Crown…

He used his Netherflame Ascendant! He was soon cloaked in white and black flames… Aside from that, this Spell transformed him into a being that has unmatched sealing power.

Without any hesitation, Vale tried to burn them with his dark flame!

"Run!"

The three Chaos Immortals tried to escape, but their chaos essence was too unstable. Two of them dissolved into ash instantly, while the last managed to flee with half a body.

Vale wanted to continue, but outside, hundreds of Chaos Immortals had just arrived.

He needed to escape as well…
