Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1058: Red Crown

Vale had no idea who the Immortal was.

All he knew was that the man had fought the Chaos Immortals while he was dealing with Mennena and her protectors.

"I guess we can work together in the future… I'm also against the Immortals working with Mennena." Vale replied through telepathy.

"There's no way we can fight all the Chaos Immortals. Stopping Mennena is the best we can do… Considering negotiating with them in the future…"

Vale's eyes narrowed slightly…

He turned toward the faint golden light in the distance.

It seemed that the golden immortal had a different agenda, and he couldn't really blame him. There were hundreds of Chaos Immortals after all.

"You're with the Church of the Three Paragons, aren't you?" He asked through telepathy once again.

The golden Immortal paused before replying. "That's correct. Though… not one that serves it openly anymore."

Vale's tone carried a hint of curiosity. "Then who are you?"

The golden aura shimmered faintly, like sunlight through smoke.

"You may call me Adam… Disciple of Blood Soulcaster."

For a moment, Vale froze.

He thought he had misheard.

The Blood Soulcaster, one of the Three Paragons, was a figure believed to have walked this world before the first age of Arcanists. However, no records ever mentioned a disciple, only rumors…

"Disciple…?" Vale repeated quietly.

"The world believes the Paragons left no inheritors…" Adam expected his reaction.

"That belief kept me alive. I've walked in silence for many eras."

'I don't think so… The Church of the Lord of the Secrets is probably your existence…' Vale thought, but he didn't say it aloud.

After all, he also learned from the church that the Chaos Alchemist practices the Primordial Chaos Arts while the Blood Soulcaster was supposedly practicing Void Arts…

That must be the main reason why no one knows about this person.

Furthermore, with the method he used to arrive here, Vale could guarantee that the man was indeed a Void Arts Practitioner and was most likely not lying.

Still, Vale's expression didn't change as he couldn't help but consider whether the man was aware that he had 'inherited' the power of the Divine Extractor…

It must be remembered that the three Paragons are the Divine Extractor, Chaos Alchemists, and Blood Soulcaster!

It wouldn't be surprising if the Immortal had a method to determine his identity…

Thankfully, Adam seemed to be clueless about this.

"Then you must've been hiding for a very long time." Vale replied

Adam's response carried a faint, almost weary tone.

"Hiding, perhaps. Or waiting. Either way, our time is short. The Chaos Immortals are already here."

The ground began to quake again. Far away, several more Chaos Immortals had descended from the sky…

The pressure of dozens--no, hundreds--of Immortal beings filled the land, and it was surely suffocating the citizens below…

Vale didn't bother looking back.

"Then we part here," Vale said.

"We will meet again, Shadow Immortal…" Adam's voice replied faintly.

"The Church of the Three Paragons will remember this debt."

Just like that, the golden aura faded from the distance before vanishing completely…

As the Chaos Immortals closed in, the Avatar's form melted into black mist, and the surrounding space collapsed…

By the time the first of the Chaos Immortals determined his location, there was nothing left.

No trace of Vale, no hint of his presence, not even the scent of blood or Divinity…

Vale's return to the Shadow Domain was silent.

He bypassed all defensive formations and appeared directly inside his chamber.

The surrounding shadows flickered for a moment before stabilizing.

Almost instantly, several Immortals stationed within the castle sensed his arrival.

Their divine senses brushed against his aura, but when they realized it was their Lord, none dared to intrude.

Still, the entire castle was on edge. Every guard, every formation master, was alert since they were ready for an attack that had yet to come.

Moments later, footsteps approached.

Magnus stopped outside the chamber doors…

"My Lord, you've returned."

Vale didn't look up from the black mist that still swirled around him. "Yes."

"Do you require assistance?" Magnus asked, sensing the residual fluctuations of Chaos Energy leaking from Vale's form.

Vale finally turned… "Not assistance. But I need someone."

"Who, my Lord?"

"The Time Manipulator…" Vale said simply. "Who's available? Ahh… Just call for Cyper."

Magnus bowed. "At once."

He left quickly as his silhouette vanished down the dark corridor.

A few minutes later, the door opened again.

Cyper entered quietly, dressed in his usual gray robes…

"My Lord," Cyper greeted, bowing slightly. "You called for me?"

Vale nodded as he raised his hand…

Then, the shadow behind him rippled open into a small gate, revealing a chained crimson object that was still emitting a strong energy…

The Red Crown had emerged, still wrapped in layers of shadow chains.

The moment it appeared, even Cyper flinched. The aura of Chaos and corrupted Divinity radiating from it was suffocating.

"Can you tame this thing? It's still resisting… I sensed Void Arts here. It seems that Time Manipulators could do something about it." Vale said calmly.

Cyper's eyes lit up as he approached. "Did you encounter someone trying to resurrect? This Red Crown is for resurrection…" he muttered as his hands hovered over the chained artifact…

'Interesting… But I thought she was just trying to awaken or something. That was actually resurrection.'

Vale didn't answer right away.

"Yes. Probably… Mennena… she must be trying to resurrect."

Cyper's head turned sharply. "Mennena?"

Vale nodded slowly. "An Arch Fey, I believe…. Her spiritual form was already halfway revived. But something's lacking… This crown should've helped her…"

Cyper frowned as he reached out.

Soon, he felt a ripple of Time distorted the space… He then quickly pulled back his hand.

"She's indeed lacking a body that could contain her trait as an Arch Fey." Cyper said in a low voice.

"Oh? Will this thing create her body? Or does it contain her body? Should we just destroy this thing?" Vale asked.
