Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1095: Spies and Disintegration

As the Chaos Immortals were dealing with the sudden appearance of Celestial Aurion and the activation of the Arcane Towers, a silent signal was sent to the spies hidden within Clovis City.

It was a signal that could not be blocked by the Formation Array that they had activated.

Soon, Nyssa's command had been received.

All across Clovis City, individuals who had lived quietly for months, some as merchants, others as students, even a few as low-ranking guards, suddenly stopped what they were doing.

Their eyes glowed for a moment, then they immediately erased their disguise. Soon, the hidden agents of the Chaos Immortals revealed themselves.

They were all practitioners of Transformation Arts!

Each one had been carefully selected, trained, and embedded a month before the war reached Clovis. Their identities were flawless since they weren't part of their faction in the first place. They were just lured by all the promises they had made to these practitioners.

Thanks to these benefits they offered, the spies lived among the people, earned trust, and waited…

Now that they had the signal from Nyssa, they finally made their move.

In the eastern district, a baker who had served many academy students for over a month stepped into an alley and cast a Spell…

This was a Transformation!

Soon, his body was covered with Arcane Energy as he started bloating. His bones cracked, and his muscles started shifting. In seconds, he transformed into a large beast with dark skin and stretched out limbs… He now looked half-human, half-monster.

He leapt onto the rooftops and began tearing through the city's infrastructure, targeting what could possibly be Formation Nodes…

"Roooarrr!"

The sudden appearance of the monster created a panic among civilians…

"A monster?!"

"They entered the city!"

"Run! They're here! Hide in the shelters!"

"Oh no! Guards! Hurry up!"

Everything happened so quickly, and it was also unexpected. Because of that, the guards and other Arcanists failed to swiftly act!

Furthermore, this happened in other areas as well.

In the western quarter, a librarian at the Grand Archive dropped her books and vanished into the shadows. When she reappeared, she had taken the form of a high-ranking city official. Using her stolen identity, she accessed restricted areas and disabled several defensive enchantment within the building, before detonating a Chaos-infused bomb that she had received before from the Immortals.

Because of that, she was able to immediately collapse a part of the library's foundation.

Near the central plaza, three students from the Marshall Academy, believed to be promising Elementalists, suddenly turned on their classmates.

Their bodies started bloating and twisting into monstrous form!

These Transformations were definitely not normal Spells of the Transformation Art. They were modified Spell Models provided by the Chaos Immortals!

One became a serpentine creature that could spit out corrosive mist. Another grew wings and launched firebombs from above. The third split into multiple dark clones, armed with Chaos daggers that disrupted spellcasting!

"Monsters! They're here!"

"Don't panic! The Automatons are coming! Just focus on hiding!"

The city's defenders had finally reached them.

Magic Automatons activated across the districts, their eyes locked onto hostile signatures.

They moved in coordinated squads, engaging the monsters...

There were also the elementalists stationed at key intersections who unleashed various Elemental Spells and barriers, trying to contain the chaos.

However, the spies were not ordinary saboteurs.

They were all at least First Class Arcanists with the power provided by the Chaos Immortals…

Furthermore, they were masters of mimicry, infiltration, and adaptive combat.

If they wanted, they could use multiple forms designed for different types of opponents. Some turned into beasts immune to fire. Others became mist-like entities that slipped through barriers. A few even mimicked the Automatons themselves, causing confusion among the defense units.

The Transformation Arcanists were indeed a terrifying opponent with their way of combat.

This was especially true for all Master Class Transformation Arcanists.

Then, in the southern sector, a group of five spies coordinated an attack on the city's alchemical storage vaults.

They transformed into burrowing creatures and tunneled beneath the facility, bypassing the outer defenses.

When they emerged, they somehow detonated volatile compounds, triggering a chain reaction that sent a plume of green fire into the sky of the city…

It was simply chaotic as the spies that they had failed to capture created so many problems…

At this time, Denise stood at the edge of her tower balcony as she watched the situation escalate…

"I guess that's all the spies they have…" she muttered as she soon gave her commands. "Fine. Let's see how they handle my real work."

Within seconds, her elite Automatons, units she had personally designed for internal security, sprang into motion.

They were led by Arthur, her first Magic Automaton!

As soon as she informed them about the targets, they immediately located the enemies.

"Target confirmed…" Arthur reported before it tackled a beast-form near the alchemical vaults.

"Good… Neutralize them all…" Denise replied coldly.

The Automatons fought and swiftly suppressed the situation. Although the damage had already been done, the spies had at least revealed themselves…

There was no longer any need to worry about another sabotage.

In the meantime, above the city, the sky was in full battle…

Celestial Aurion still harnessed the energy from the sixteen Arcane Towers…

Every movement he made distorted the air as his Immortal Spells were amplified.

He raised his hand once more, and soon, a wave of celestial chains erupted from the sky, binding a cluster of Chaos Immortals.

They screamed as the chains tightened. Their bodies were purified by the divine energy coursing through them. In a single breath, Aurion had eliminated another dozen.

"Fall back!" one of the Immortals shouted, but it was too late.

Aurion descended like a comet… He struck the airship nearby, and a shockwave of divine force exploded outward.

Chaos Beasts were vaporized, and other airships lost control and spiraled downward. The battlefield was no longer theirs.

"He's too strong!" Arin shouted, shielding himself with a Chaos barrier.

"Don't worry… Look. His body's already disintegrating!" Nyssa reminded.

Indeed, Aurion was basically sacrificing his life for this defense!

After all, once he died, the Clovis City would soon be taken over by the enemies!
