Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1094: The 16 Towers

Just as the last remnants of Vale's shadow dispersed into the wind, a ripple of divine energy swept across the battlefield.

It was a familiar source of energy, and it came from a powerful spirit, Arch Fey's Spirit to be exact.

Soon, a translucent figure appeared near Kent… Her form was composed of light and fragmented energy...

As soon as she appeared, her presence silenced the Chaos Immortals as they knew the one who had saved them from the Shattered Expanse and returned to their realm.

Mennena.

"You fools…" her voice echoed, calm but laced with disdain. "You've destroyed nothing."

Kent squinted, confused by her words. "What?"

"That was not Vale," Mennena said. "That was only a clone or a shadow of his will." She wasn't really aware of the Avatar Spell Model, but at the very least, she could tell that it was not the real Vale they were targeting.

The revelation stunned all the Chaos Immortals, who thought that they were about to rule this world.

Arin's expression twisted. "Impossible. We felt his strong Divinity and sealed the domain. There's no way he could escape."

"No… You fought a puppet from the very start." Mennena interrupted. "And you still lost dozens of your own."

Nyssa clenched her fists. "Then where is the real one?"

Mennena didn't answer. She simply turned her gaze toward Clovis City.

She was also unsure about Vale's location, but no matter where he was, they would know once they captured everyone or everything precious to him.

However, before they could act… The Clovis City made their move.

A wave of powerful and mixed Divinity spread through the air as the ground beneath Clovis glowed… It was suddenly filled with Ancient Draconic Runes. The sky above the city darkened, but it was not from Chaos, but from the activation of the city's final line of defense.

A massive barrier erupted from the city's perimeter, forming a dome of radiant energy that stopped any advancement of the Chaos Beasts from the sky and ground.

The dragons, still recovering, found themselves within its protection. They looked up, startled by the intensity of the barrier, but quickly understood.

Well, this was their first time seeing the activation of this Formation Circle after all. They heard that the base of it was the modified Animus Haven Circle that Vale had modified himself.

"They activated it…" Veyrith whispered. "The city's true defense. So this is how it feels like."

"This is incredible. Where is this dense energy coming from?" Ash, one of the Ancient Nature Dragons, couldn't help but ask.

Although they knew about the activation of the barrier, they had no idea about the source of energy… This was definitely not made from ordinary materials. No amount of Divine Crystals could create something like this.

Of course, only Orden and Ryzoir were aware of this… After all, the source came from something that Vale brought back within the Celestial Prison Realm.

From the heart of the city, sixteen Arcane Towers lit up in sequence, and each one pulsed with a different type of energy!

Indeed, the energy that was powering up the huge Formation Circle was the Arcane Towers!

Although the Towers were just being used as a place of trial for students. They possessed an almost unlimited amount of energy that no one could explain.

Because of that, they had become anchors or nodes of a larger Formation Array that they had decided to use to protect their city.

And at the center of it all, standing atop the Dark Arts Tower, was a figure clad in white and gold robes.

He was Celestial Aurion, one of the Celestial Beings that Vale had woken up in the mausoleum before.

Apparently, the Formation Circle wasn't just meant to protect the city… Since they have plenty of energy, they could use someone who could actually wield this power.

Though it was complicated, the Celestial Being was strong enough to bear it!

Soon, Aurion's eyes glowed with the full power of the Formation Array.

The energy from the sixteen towers surged into him, passing through his body like threads of divine light.

Kent's expression darkened as he felt the power coming from the towers…

"I guess that's the true Shadow Immortal…" He muttered.

Well, with this much power, they could only guess that it was indeed Vale. After all, that power could probably equal 30 immortals or more at once!

Nonetheless, Aurion raised his hand, and the sky responded.

A beam of pure celestial energy descended from above, striking the Chaos fleet!

One of the airships exploded almost instantly. The Chaos Immortals only tried protecting it for a brief second before retreating. There was no need to expend too much energy blocking that ridiculous strike…

When another beam of light was coming at them, they knew not to fight it!

"Scatter! Let him waste his energy!" Nyssa shouted, but it was too late.

The beam came too fast and destroyed another ship… Almost at the same time, Aurion moved and left this spot…

At this point, he didn't need allies or support to assist him... With the power of the Formation flowing through him, he was a one-man army.

He raised his other hand, and a wave of radiant chains appeared out of nowhere, binding several Chaos Beasts mid-flight.

Soon, they screamed as their bodies were purified and turned into ash!

"That's too much Holy Energy… That's not the Shadow Immortal…" Nyssa muttered as she finally realized that they weren't dealing with the Shadow Immortal.

Then, Kent was informed by Mennena about this figure, and he couldn't help but feel surprised…

After learning the truth, he informed the others.

"That's another Immortal working for Vale. Since he's not supposed to be this strong, they must've used a Forbidden Spell to increase his power. He shouldn't last that long. We just need to contain him and wait until his body gives up."

"He's drawing from the towers…" Mennena whispered.

Kent frowned, but he was not afraid. There were still a lot of them, and Aurion was alone.

He then signaled to Nyssa as they decided to change their tactic.

As soon as Nyssa got the message, she immediately sent a telepathic message to all the spies who had entered Clovis City months ago!
