Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1178: Connections

Ceres paused in her rounds…

There were actually quite a lot of patients today since there were many tired Arcanists who had participated in Immortal Chad's training.

Apparently, this Half Dragon Immortal had selected several Arcanists, and she had to heal them every time they finished their drill.

'Just what kind of training are they doing to give them so many internal injuries? Are we preparing for a war?' Ceres mused.

She wasn't really complaining about her work, but she couldn't help but feel curious about this.

Then, when her hands were still glowing faintly from a healing spell. The news about the Spirit Queen reached her.

Of course, there weren't a lot of people who knew about this.

She just learned it through telepathy, and only those with Level 3 membership, or those who had access to the third floor of the Immortal Tower, were informed about this.

In short, only about 40 people had been made aware of the Queen's presence and her entourage.

'Incredible.. I wonder why they came?' She thought to herself, as she only knew that they had arrived and that they had to be careful when possibly meeting them…

Apparently, they would have access to the third and fourth floors of the Immortal Tower, so they were made aware of their presence…

Nonetheless, Ceres was also aware that the Queen of Spirits, a figure of legend, might actually be able to help Arcanists get contracted with various kinds of Spirits.

'It would be amazing if they're actually partnered with the Academy.' Ceres mused.

She knew a lot of young Arcanists from Millton Kingdom who would be attending the Marshall Academy. It would benefit her country a lot if the Spirit Queen could actually help them get closer to the Spirits.

"But I wonder if she's really beautiful…" Ceres muttered.

She had only heard tales of the Spirit Queen's unmatched beauty and power, of her battles against Evil Spirits and against Demonic ones…

To think that such a being now walked the same halls where she served… it was overwhelming.

Ceres quickly composed herself, reminding herself of her duty.

Patients still needed her care, and the Tower's wards had to be maintained. Yet curiosity tugged at her. She wondered what the Queen would be like in person, whether she would be distant and regal, or approachable despite her status.

As she passed through the corridors, she overheard lucky attendants whispering in awe about the Queen's silver hair, her violet eyes, and the aura of majesty she had...

Ceres felt a strange mix of reverence and envy as she also wanted to see the Spirit Queen…

'If the Spirit Queen's entourage is here, then my role as medic may become even more important,' she thought.

'They will probably suffer a strong suppression, and even she may need healing. I must be ready.'

***

It had already been three days since the Spirit Queen and her entourage had settled inside Constance's Immortal Tower.

Surprisingly, their living conditions were far better than expected.

The Tower was filled with Draconic Runes that constantly boosted Spirit Energy, making it easier for the Queen and her guardians to endure the suppression of the Human Realm's Will, and they were recovering faster than they thought.

They were all very surprised that Vale had connections with numerous Dragons who actually had inscribed different types of runes throughout the Tower. That was not an easy feat as they recalled how arrogant and selfish they were…

'The Spirit Dragon could never…' The Spirit Guardians thought.

Nonetheless, the tower became a sanctuary where Spirit Beings could recover faster…

At this time, Mesa, one of the Spirit Guardians, had been living with her companions on the fourth floor. Her body, though humanoid in form, was purely elemental…

She was a manifestation of holy energy given shape, and she would normally stay beside the Spirit Queen…

Today, however, she had a different task. She carried a small chest filled with Spirit Stones, part of the payment promised for their stay in the Tower.

It was her duty to deliver them to the third floor, where the Tower's attendants would record and store the offering.

As she descended, her aura glowed faintly as she spread her Spirit Sense…

On the third floor, she turned a corner… and that was when she saw her.

Ceres was walking down the corridor, her golden hair tied back, and she was filled with Holy Energy…

She then looked up, surprised to see Mesa approaching.

For a moment, the two women simply regarded each other. Mesa's violet-gold eyes shone with interest, while Ceres's gaze carried pure curiosity.

However, they didn't really talk to each other and just acknowledged each other's presence…

The connection was there, but it was simply due to their curiosity…

"Ugh… It's not going well…" Vale muttered as he was actually quietly observing the situation within the Tower all this time... His Divine Sense stretched across the floors, allowing him to see the subtle interactions between the Spirit Queen's entourage and the Arcanists.

He frowned.

The Spirit Guardians and the Arcanists were polite enough, acknowledging each other's presence, but there was no real bond forming. They walked past one another with curiosity, but not trust. Even Mesa and Ceres, both filled with holy energy, had only exchanged a silent recognition before moving on.

Vale had hoped for more. He wanted the Spirits and the Arcanists to build a tighter relationship, one that could benefit both sides.

'I guess I have to wait until they recover from the Suppression and send the Spirit Beings to the Academy.' Vale mused.

The Queen's presence here was an opportunity. Perhaps even a blessing, but the distance between them remained.

He could only sigh as it was not progressing as he wanted.

The Tower was secure, the Queen was safe, and her guardians were recovering. But the human Arcanists were still hesitant, and the Spirits remained cautious.

Vale knew he couldn't force trust… it had to grow naturally.

Now, only five days remained until the start of the academic year at Marshall Academy…

'Alright… Let's do it again once the class starts…'
