Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 214: Ultimate Defense

Duke's path forward has become clearer; with five Elemental Talents, following the path of the Elemental Mage is surely the most suitable.

Generally, once one becomes an Official Wizard of Level 1, they gradually define their future path and delve deeper into a specific direction.

For example, the Mechanical Wizard commonly seen on the East Coast, the Bloodline Mage inherited from the ancient era of sorcery, and the Astrologer that Duke once encountered.

It is worth mentioning that Duke learned from talking to Bell of the Knight Hall that knights also have a method of advancing by leveraging powerful bloodlines to enhance their Life Level.

In this aspect, knights and Bloodline Mages are very similar, essentially enhancing their Life Level through the fusion of powerful bloodlines.

Duke also thought about how the Elementalization of the Life Seed uses Elemental Power to complete the life-level ascension.

He faintly sensed that, although there are thousands of paths in the world, they all lead to the same destination in the end.

No matter the Extraordinary System or Cultivation Method, they are essentially for enhancing the Life Level.

After acquiring the talents of both Wind and Fire Attributes, Duke didn't rush to master the corresponding magic.

Due to having too many skills to grind proficiency in, even learning them now wouldn't be effective.

Duke plunged into the laboratory, starting to grind proficiency in Sand Guardian.

This is his most important Talent Magic, so it had top priority. After acquiring two new talents, he immediately embarked on the proficiency process of this magic.

Fortunately, Sand Guardian doesn't consume Magic Power, so increasing its proficiency is quite fast.

Duke secluded himself for a month, dedicating himself intensely to grinding the proficiency of Sand Guardian, finally leveling this magic up to the maximum.

[Sand Guardian Level Up, Spiritual Power +0.1, Free Attribute Points +2]

[Sand Guardian: LV17 (Characteristic: Energy Absorption)]

[Energy Absorption: The Sand Guardian has the characteristic of absorbing external energy to enhance defensive effects]

Duke found that upon maxing Sand Guardian, he received two free attribute points, which was a pleasant surprise.

Towards the end, leveling up Sand Guardian only provided an increase of 0.1 in Spiritual Power.

The characteristic of Sand Guardian is almost identical to that of the Water Shield Technique, as both can absorb external energy to enhance defensive effects.

However, with this characteristic, Sand Guardian is much stronger than the Water Shield Technique.

Sand Guardian can manipulate a vast amount of sand to form large-scale, broad-range defenses.

Additionally, Duke enhanced the sand with Magic Metal, allowing it to have a high capacity for energy.

This means Duke's Sand Guardian can resist higher-intensity Energy Attacks and can absorb and store them, further strengthening the sand's defensive capabilities.

If Duke were to encounter the explosive attack from the Evil God's follower again, his fortress made of sand would certainly remain unscathed, without even a single crater.

The Yellow Sand Fortress would merely absorb the energy generated during the explosion, enhancing its effectiveness.

Duke found upon slight experimentation that this characteristic suited Sand Guardian perfectly.

The already strong defensive power of Sand Guardian, equipped with this characteristic, turned directly into an ultimate shield, deemed as extreme defense.

More than a hundred tons of sand fortified with Golden Scale Celestial Iron are more than enough to form a fortress protecting Duke, equivalent to having a mobile fortress made with Magic Metal, plus having the Energy Absorption characteristic.

Duke then glanced at the attribute panel on the Skill Tree, noting some improvements in his Spiritual Power during this period.

[Constitution: 22.3]

[Strength: 23.2]

[Agility: 21.6]

[Spirit: 64]

[Free Attribute Points: 7]

Free Attribute Points have accumulated to seven; Spirit Wind Breathing Technique and Dragon Breath Breathing Technique both provided one point, and their corresponding Secondary Potion also provided one point upon reaching the maximum level.

Duke hasn't used them yet, planning to save them for when Level 1 Magic can no longer provide Spiritual Power increases.

Right now, leveling up Sand Guardian still gives a 0.1 boost in Spiritual Power; when it's increased further, Level 1 Magic might not be able to provide Spiritual Power anymore.

Duke is currently in the period of development after becoming an Official Wizard, trying to enhance his capabilities in all aspects.

Initially, after just advancing, he ventured to the Beastman Plane to not miss any opportunities, even though that was the weakest point when all capabilities couldn't match the expectations of an Official Wizard.

Now he can truly be considered to have a certain strength as an Official Wizard; having Sand Guardian on hand is enough for survival, as long as he doesn't encounter overly powerful enemies.

Duke then began learning Level 1 Magic of Wind Attribute and Fire Attribute, which are quite common, opting not to spend contribution points to purchase them.

He spent over three thousand magic stones to purchase the Level 1 Wind Attribute Magic Tornado and Level 1 Fire Attribute Magic Fireball Technique.

The Fireball Technique is a classic Fire Magic; its effect is straightforward and incredibly practical, able to generate extremely high temperatures and energy.

Duke chose the Fireball Technique to enhance his attack methods; this magic doesn't pose any risk of mistake.

Regarding Wind Magic, there are many options, and Duke had a reason to choose this one.

The Tornado is actually categorized as a control-type magic, and although it covers a large area, its destructive power isn't considered strong.

Furthermore, the Tornado and Fireball Technique can combine to form a Fire Dragon Tornado, which doesn't require Duke to conduct experiments, as Mages have already researched the combination effects of these two magics.

The Tornado, originally emphasizing control effects, transforms into a terrifying Fire Dragon Tornado when combined with the Fireball Technique, packing extremely high energy and temperature, swallowing everything.

After mastering these two magics, Duke didn't rush to improve their proficiency as short-term improvement to max level is impossible.

He has other tasks to manage, with a pile of things awaiting arrangement.

Duke first considered matters related to Meditation, ensuring he never neglected it and always used Potions to aid his meditation.

However, the Starlight Meditation Potion is merely a Secondary Potion and hasn't significantly benefited Duke at this stage.

Duke needs to consume Level 1 Meditation auxiliary Potions to achieve better meditation effects.

There are various types of Level 1 Meditation auxiliary Potions, with many Mages having developed diverse Potions.

Duke chose the Meditation auxiliary Potion simply based on its sales volume.

Due to limited time, he needed to utilize his time to the fullest.

Refining Meditation auxiliary Potions serves both to aid his meditation and to grind the proficiency of a Level 1 Potion.
