Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree

Chapter 293: Gaining Three Subordinates

This flying creature resembles a vulture, but its wingspan exceeds five meters. Its feathers have a metallic gray-black sheen, and its beak and claws glint with a cold light.

It circles low in the cage with agitation, emitting sharp, piercing cries, and the wind stirred by its wings can be felt even through the cage.

"Iron-Feathered Vulture, ordinary Level 1 strength, a good scout for flying surveillance, not weak in aggression either, just a bit noisy," Tom wrinkled his nose.

Deep within the passage, faint roars and sharp hisses echo from what seems like an abyss.

The mixed energy fluctuations in the air grow increasingly complex and dangerous, carrying scorching fire, piercing cold, corrosive acidity, and a heart-palpitating shadowy disturbance.

Some of the creatures held in the cages have even more bizarre shapes, such as elemental entities assembled like rocks, hovering quietly in the center of their cages.

There are leopards with semi-transparent bodies, appearing to be composed of flowing shadows, flickering in and out in the corners of their cages.

There's even a gelatinous creature constantly twisting and morphing, exuding chaotic spiritual waves, causing a slight discomfort to Duke's spiritual power.

Duke followed Tom forward, seeing many strange and unusual slave creatures, all with impressive strength.

He stopped in front of a cage, curiously looking inside, and spoke, "Reid? You're here too?"

Inside the cage was a burly Kobold, sitting cross-legged with eyes closed, possibly meditating in their own form of practice.

Reid opened his eyes upon hearing a somewhat familiar voice, quickly recalling Duke, whom he had met on the Beastman Plane.

"Long time no see, Lord Duke," Reid said respectfully, obviously remembering Duke.

Tom hadn't expected the two to know each other and said, "So you know each other. Reid is also at Level 1 Peak strength, quite an impressive Kobold."

"How much for Reid?" Duke asked.

"Reid, as a Level 1 Peak slave creature, is relatively expensive, priced at four hundred thousand Level 1 Magic Stones," Tom said.

Duke nodded and said, "Then let's purchase Reid first, and how much for that Three-headed Magma Lizard earlier?"

"Three-headed Magma Lizard is also priced at forty thousand," Tom said.

"Let's buy these two for now, I'll keep looking," Duke said.

His budget was over a million magic stones, and acquiring three Level 1 Peak slave creatures would significantly boost his personal strength.

This was also in preparation for the Void Corridor, as entering with three Level 1 Peak slave creatures as guards, thanks to the Light God Court, would considerably enhance safety.

Duke then roamed the first level with Tom, gaining a general understanding of the Level 1 slave creatures here.

He finally chose a Level 1 Peak Storm Dragon Eagle, a creature of massive size, standing over ten meters tall, with an unfolded wingspan that can't be seen because there's simply no room to fully spread its wings here.

The Storm Dragon Eagle harbors traces of ancient storm dragon bloodline, allowing it to command wind and thunder attributes.

Besides being extremely fast, it also possesses a strong storm strike capability, able to channel lightning storms over a wide area.

Duke chose the Storm Dragon Eagle because his current means to battle in the air were somewhat lacking, and his flight speed was not fast enough.

Currently, he could fly by stepping on yellow sand, but this speed was too slow for Level 1 beings.

The Storm Dragon Eagle would change everything, as it is extremely fast, making it difficult for ordinary Level 1 beings to catch up.

This Storm Dragon Eagle was also expensive, priced at sixty-five hundred thousand magic stones, much more costly than the vast majority of Level 1 slave creatures.

With a determined bite of his teeth, Duke bought the Storm Dragon Eagle, leaving him with the Kobold Reid, the Three-headed Magma Lizard, and the Storm Dragon Eagle as his three slave creatures.

With his current spiritual power, controlling three Level 1 Peak slave creatures was just about manageable; any more would strain his spiritual power.

After purchasing these three slave creatures, Duke had only over sixty hundred thousand magic stones left, and acquiring a large amount of magic stones again would require time and the income share from the Giant Rock Commerce Association.

He signed slave contracts with the three slave creatures, holding their slave marks.

From now on, these three slave creatures would be entirely obedient, following his every command unconditionally.

The passage, once spacious, now seemed a bit cramped with three large slave creatures.

The Kobold Reid followed Duke like a loyal servant, already taking up his duties as a guard.

Next was the Three-headed Magma Lizard, exuding heat and sulfurous fumes, with the ground turning scorching where its tail dragged.

Finally, there was the Storm Dragon Eagle, walking at the end, much larger in size than the two slave creatures before it.

Upon reaching the surface, the Storm Dragon Eagle eagerly spread its wings, having been stifled underground for days, like a chick needing to keep its wings tightly controlled at all times.

The Storm Dragon Eagle soared into the sky, its wingspan reaching forty meters, with electrically charged feathers glinting with the power of wind and thunder.

Its deep blue feathers reflected a metallic luster in the sunlight, with silver arcs jumping at the edges, emitting crackling sounds, stirring the surrounding air into a windstorm laced with static, visible to the naked eye.

An aura of majesty, wildness, and destructive power spread instantly.

This was the Storm Dragon Eagle showcasing its strength and value, needing to demonstrate its worth to its master, Duke, while also allowing the Kobold Reid and the Three-headed Magma Lizard to witness its power.

There is also politics among slave creatures, with many intricate networks of relationships.

Like Reid, who made and lost many friends after becoming a slave creature, with connections and enemies forged in the Slave Creature Legion.

Now that these three slave creatures were under Duke's command, natural hierarchies would form.

The Storm Dragon Eagle clearly looked down upon the Kobold and the Three-headed Magma Lizard, directly showcasing its strength.

The Kobold Reid was indifferent, not caring about these matters.

He understood well that his role was to give everything to Duke, with nothing else mattering.

But the Three-headed Magma Lizard, lacking the intelligence of humanoids, acted more on instinct.

The Three-headed Magma Lizard disliked the Storm Dragon Eagle's behavior, with all three heads sticking out their tongues, emitting hot breath, glaring at the Storm Dragon Eagle in the sky with slight hostility.
