I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 147: Reinforcements Leo's Influence

Another week had passed, and everyone was moving at their own pace.

While the protests in Leo's support continued, and intensified, the Watchdogs also strengthened their crackdown.

They even started arresting those that protested for Leo, under suspicions that they might be hiding the fugitive who had run away from custody.

Meanwhile, there was one more group that had started moving in their own direction, especially since Leo had activated the nuclear option.

It was also the main reason he had gone for a bank. It was a much easier way to own favors.

Although for many, it might look like a waste to activate such options for something like this, but for Leo, it was totally worth it.

....

Meanwhile, on the higher floors, the warden that had escorted Leo, was casually sipping wine.

He looked at the collars on the screen, which showed the life vitals of all the prisoners. It also revealed that all their collars were working perfectly fine.

"I'm surprised that the new prisoner managed to survive for so long. It looks like he's not half bad," he mumbled, looking at the collar number in the last line.

"Though I never thought a prisoner would offer me that kind of money at our first meeting, in exchange for his freedom. Unfortunately, I couldn't take it."

He shook his head lightly at the missed opportunity, but there was nothing he could do. After all, the owners of this prison were scarier.

"Hmm?" Suddenly, he noticed something strange.

The numbers on the screen started turning red, one after another.

It was as if all the collars had started going offline. There were no signs of explosions. One moment, the collars revealed that they had activated the destruction protocol, and the next moment, their signal was cut off.

"What is happening?" The Warden immediately stood up, and started switching to the live camera feed, but to his surprise, it was all a blur.

After all, the only reason Leo took so long was because he needed everyone's help to find all the cameras. Once they memorized all the locations of hidden cameras, it was easy to destroy them.

Not only were the collars lost, but also the cameras, making it impossible to see what was happening.

"Something is wrong!" The Warden immediately slammed the alarm, and sirens started rising in the entire prison.

In the lower prison floors, many of the scariest criminals opened their eyes slowly, as if they had woken up from long slumber.

"How long has it been since I heard such alarms?" One of them lightly mumbled, as an amused smile spread across his lips.

"It looks like they brought someone really troublesome this time," Another prisoner on the lowest floor said.

Once the siren started resounding, the entire prison was placed on lockdown. The lift had been shut down, as this was the one way to escape the underground prison since stairs only went from a certain depth

The metallic doors of the prison floors also locked more finely, as another layer of metal came out of the ground to reinforce them.

Meanwhile, the Prison Guards started rushing down, carrying their weapons to take their positions as per protocols.

Not a single prisoner was allowed to escape.

"All the cameras have been destroyed!" A person reported to Leo, who only nodded as he swung his sword again.

His sword sliced through the last prisoner's collar with ease, like it was cutting through butter.

Once the collars were cut through force, they would immediately explode. However, Leo had already planned for it.

Once the collars were sliced and freed from the neck, he immediately sent them to his storage ring before they could explode.

It was dangerous as any mistake would cause him to be blown up with the prisoners. Fortunately, he hadn't failed.

"We are freed, but the sirens mean that the entry place is on lockdown. If I'm not wrong, thousands of soldiers would be outside, waiting to shoot us down before we can even take a step forward. So what's the plan?"

While Leo was catching his breath, after having to swing his sword close to a thousand times, he heard many people asking the same question.

So far, everything has gone according to plan. So what was the next plan? After all, Leo hadn't told anyone the next part of the plan.

"Don't worry. The reinforcements are almost there," Leo answered, and just then, everyone felt trembled beneath their feet.

Although they were still deep underground, they could still feel the tremor as if the entire planet was attacked by a powerful weapon.

In the control room, the Warden looked at the screen in disbelief.

"What is happening? Why are we under attack right at this moment?!"

The radars that were placed around the planet were showing multiple unknown ships approaching.

Their defensive fleets were destroyed before they could even react, especially since they were the least prepared for this.

Not just one enemy ship had arrived. There were hundreds, if not more.

Some of them were Warships that belonged to Warlords that had taken a favorable loan from Leo, which Leo used to create a friendship with them through his usual manipulative tactics.

The others belonged to the Hero Guild that had also come to help. After all, they had a legitimate reason.

A prominent person from their planet, and was locked up in an illegal prison. If anything, they had all the right to be here.

"I can't believe this thing actually exists. The information wasn't wrong!" A warlord mumbled, looking at the prison planet.

"To think that they were running an illegal prison that even I didn't know about. Did they not consider me influential enough?"

While some warlords were upset that something so illegal was going on, others were furious that the person was supposedly owned by influential people that didn't consider them good enough to be part of it.

However, most of them only wanted to free Leo. It was primarily because they had a good opinion of Leo. But more importantly, it was because they believed Leo was definitely going to repay this favor in the future with his wealth when they needed it.

And just like that, the unnamed prison that had flown under the radar, had come to light, and was facing an existential crisis, all because they arrested a human.

At the same time, Leo also prepared to leave the Cell.

"Shall we also get to work?" He waved his hand, and summoned hundreds of clothing attires from his storage ring, all made by Alpha Labs.

These were the prototype of the upgraded invisible clothing that Leo found perfect to test here.

"It's time for you all to show me what you're capable of."
