In the central region of the Galaxy, there existed an ancient planet. It was said to be one of the oldest planets that had come into existence in the Universe.
The planet was initially void of any life, despite being perfect for habitation.
After millions of years, the planet saw the first life forms that came from distant planets. Within hundreds of years, more and more people from foreign civilizations started arriving on the planet.
Before long, it had become the central hub of the galaxy due to its close proximity to the major planets.
That was also why this planet was selected to establish a very important organization. It was the Headquarters of the Galactic Union.
It was where the leaders of various Galactic civilizations discussed matters that could affect the fate of millions of planets.
It was also the planet considered the most secure place in the universe. Almost every participating planet of the Galactic Union had contributed to making the Galactic Union what it was today.
Almost every planet, small or large, had an embassy established on this planet. The stronger the planet, the closer their embassy was established to the Galactic Union Headquarters.
The Galactic Union had seen everything through the thousands of years of its existence. It had seen small planets like Earth opening up, becoming its members.
It had also seen interplanetary wars, often taking a spectator approach unless the majority of the stakeholders wanted intervention.
Many small or medium sized nations throughout the Galactic Union's existence had disappeared, being completely destroyed. Yet for the Galactic Union, it was an ordinary phenomenon.
Strangely enough, that same Galactic Union was in a massive commotion today.
Embassies of various planets were trying to gather information, but they couldn't find anything.
All they could see was that this planet's security had been increased massively. Thousands of warships were stationed outside the planet.
"What is happening? Is the Union going to war? Is another major power going to disappear today?"
"It can't be a fleet established to search for the Elven Emperor's daughter, right?"
"Hah, do you think the Elven Emperor has such a strong pull? They have wealth and hold one of the seven High Seats of the Union, but even they shouldn't be able to do something like this."
"Then what could it be?"
Many envoys who were out of the loop were discussing amongst themselves, trying to figure out what was going on.
Meanwhile, inside the Galactic Union Headquarters, the atmosphere was even more tense.
People could be seen rushing all over the place, trying to ensure that every arrangement was perfect.
Even the current Lord of the Galactic Council was biting his nails in nervousness. "After all this time, why now? Why are they coming? Did we do something wrong?"
"It just had to happen after I won the election. If I had known, I wouldn't have taken part in this election. Couldn't it have happened after my five year term?"
The man grabbed his head, which made the sound of glass clanking against itself.
He was a Vitrean, his entire body made from a glass-like structure that behaved in a similar manner. The only difference was that it wasn't as fragile as glass.
Let alone being fragile, it could be compared to the strongest material in the galaxy. Vitreans were a powerful species, and as a planet, their strength was easily in the top three.
They were a planet of warriors, yet in this moment, the two meter tall man representing that planet was looking scared as he checked a message again and again.
"Father, is this really something to be that worried about? Aren't you the Leader of the Galactic Union? How can a mere planet, that I haven't even heard about, scare you so much?"
"Son, you have no idea what we are dealing with. After all, you haven't seen them before. If you did, you would've been trembling as well. We are talking about Necropolis, after all!"
"Even if they are strong, can they face the might of the Galactic Union? Can they face the entire universe?" the youngster asked, rolling his eyes, feeling like his father was overreacting.
"Hah, you are truly ignorant, my child." The man scratched his glassy forehead. "Do you know the power hierarchy of the Galactic Union?"
"Who doesn't know that? There are Low Seat Members, like weaker planets that aren't a threat to anyone. It can be said that we take their membership just for the sake of it, since they can't contribute much to us."
"Then there are the Middle Seat Planets, like the recently promoted Earth. These planets are strong and can destroy a Low Seat planet with ease. Some of them are filled with resources or have intelligent species that can contribute to the Union."
"Then there are the seven High Seat Planets, like ours and the Elven Planet. These are where the power of the Galactic Union is truly concentrated, and the next leader of the Union is always selected from amongst the High Seat Planets."
The young man who had worn the bright robe of the Galactic Union was proudly stating this, flexing his knowledge.
"Wouldn't it be embarrassing if I didn't know such basic things that even children know nowadays?"
"You are right, but you missed something. There are those above High Seat Planets. Their existence is known only to a few people since they rarely show themselves."
"There are?" The young man frowned, shocked that even he hadn't heard about them. "Then this Necropolis... Don't tell me it's..."
"That's right. There are three ancient civilizations that are above the High Seat Members of the Council. We call them Ancient Planets. And Necropolis is one of those three Ancient Seat Holders."
"If a High Seat Planet can destroy multiple Middle Seat Planets, then doesn't that mean an Ancient Seat would be able to..." The young man didn't continue his thought process, as he thought of a nightmarish possibility.
"That's right. If they want, then they can make our lives a living nightmare! The Three Ancient Seats hadn't shown themselves since the last war between the three of them, which wiped out half the universe and civilizations more advanced than ours..."
"After such a long time, an Ancient Seat is finally arriving! Now do you understand why I'm concerned?"
"If we make one mistake, then what will happen to us?" The Council Leader placed his face in his palm. "And even if we don't make a mistake, then the appearance of one means that the other two might also... Wouldn't that lead to a repeat of the grand war...?"
While the Leader of the Galactic Union was about to cry, many special guests had started arriving at the Galactic Union Headquarters, receiving some vague hints of the special event.
Even the Elven Emperor, who was worried about the disappearance of his daughter, had arrived with a grand entourage after receiving the information through his sources.
Fortunately, only the High Seat Holders had ways to receive such classified information. Otherwise, almost every planetary leader would have arrived.
....
Meanwhile, in another place, a man had started coming to his senses.
"Urgh..." Timmy slowly opened his eyes and laughed meekly. "I had a really bad dream. I saw that we were kidnapped."
