I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!

Chapter 49: When you come for the King you better not miss

The Elven Emperor didn't flinch. In the face of the figure wrapped in black robes, he merely offered a faint, polite smile.

"Greetings, Lord Envoy."

"Answer my question. I am quite curious about your intentions."

Leo was waiting to hear his reason. But more importantly, it was to gather more information about the newly arrived guests without asking it directly.

"To answer Lord Envoy's question, it is something that I cannot tell." The Elven Emperor placed a hand on his chest and lowered his head apologetically.

His reaction made almost everyone in the surrounding look at him like he was a crazy person. The envoy of an Ancient Species was asking him a question and he refused to answer?

The Galactic Union Leader felt his blood pressure spike. You can't answer? You just invited two other tigers to a mountain that can barely hold one! And you can't even answer why?

He really wanted to thrash the Elven Emperor, even if it meant causing a conflict between Vitreans and Elves. However, he controlled himself and didn't interfere in the conversation of the Necropolis Envoy.

Leo stared at the Elf. Beneath the mask, a frown formed on his brow. Does he want to die, or does he know I'm a fake? Could he have realized that I'm not really an undead from Necropolis? Is this a setup?

The lack of information was the most troubling aspect of the situation. He didn't even know the history of the two uninvited guests that had arrived.

All he knew was what he could decipher based on the expressions of those around him. The newly arrived guests likely weren't friends of Necropolis.

'Should I return? Or should I alert Voldred? But if the two sides are actually comparable to Necropolis, then even if Voldred arrived, it'll only make things worse. '

Leo felt like he was stuck in a complicated point in his life, where he only had a short time to make a decision while considering all aspects.

'Voldred and the others would survive a battle, but what about his mortal self? Just the aftershock of the battle would send him into oblivion.'

"Sigh." He couldn't control himself, letting out a sigh as he mumbled, "I really don't want to see blood today."

He was talking to himself, worried about shedding his own blood if he made a mistake. He didn't realize that his words were taken in a completely different manner by those around him.

Even the Elven Emperor felt a chill run down his spine as his smile disappeared.

Leo's words felt like he was really disappointed that he would have to shed blood of the Ancient Species that had interfered in his welcoming celebration and those in the Galactic Union that were responsible for it.

This indifference in the present of two ancient species... This level of confidence... Was this what allowed Necropolis to carve their name in the annals of history as the enemies that no one wanted to face.

The Elven Emperor gulped heavily. Even the Union Leader felt his body tremble, as he subconsciously took a step back.

Leo came to his senses, and stopped talking to himself. He placed a hand on the Elven Emperor's chest and walked past him.

"I don't have time to waste with your childish games."

Only the sound of his footsteps could be heard amidst the silent heartbeats.

"Who leads this union? Follow me," he said, walking towards the grandest building nearby.

He had seen the images of this place in some media articles. There was even an entire wave of celebration when Earth had joined the Galactic Union for the first time, after advancing into space.

To see this place with his own eyes, it truly felt incredible. Unfortunately, he couldn't appreciate this place's beauty.

He had thought a lot about this situation, and he only came up with one solution that didn't escalate this situation into a world destroying calamity.

There was only one solution... He had to make it so that the other side would have to think twice before challenging him.

He was an envoy of Necropolis. Even though he wasn't an undead, the other side didn't know that. If they wanted to escalate, then he would have to make them believe that it would be the most stupid decision of their lives.

Since his life was already on the line, he could only stop worrying about death. If it couldn't be avoided, then why worry about it? But if it could be avoided, then the solution was simple.

He had to create fear and mystery around himself. And more importantly, he had to do something that he rarely did.

He had to do aura farming.

He had even seen Voldred face to face. That person was literally an overlord of death. After seeing Voldred, what couldn't he see without composure.

'Come at me if you want, but only if you are willing to lose your lives.' That was the belief that he had to carry, and he was an expert in that.

Even though he ordered the Galactic Union Lord to follow him, he didn't hear the sound of footsteps chasing after him.

The Galactic Union Lord was looking back and forth between Leo and the new two ships above.

As the Union Lord, wasn't it his responsibility to welcome new guests personally as well? Could he really ignore them? He felt really conflicted.

Leo's foot came to a stop, and he raised his right hand, holding the hilt of his sword on his back.

"Would your ears start working after I cut this planet in two along with your newly arrived guests?" he asked. "Or is it that you fear them more than me? In that case, it'll be very unfortunate... for you."

"I-I am coming!" Galactic Union Lord Viserl clenched his fist and chased after Leo with trembling legs.

"And Elven Emperor..." Leo said as he continued walking away, followed by Union Leader Viserl. "If your invited guests have a problem with my arrangement, then please give them a message from me."

"When they come for this King, they better not miss. Because I will not..."

He entered the building, leaving his words that were echoing in everyone's ears.
