Leo was at the center of attention, and his popularity didn't look like it was going to die anytime soon.

It didn't matter if it was a common man, tech industry CEOs, or even the independent heroes, everyone wanted to know more about him.

As interest regarding him kept rising, the media also started highlighting him more and more to get more clicks.

Many even believed that Leo was as popular as Blaze at this point in time. There was barely anyone who wasn't curious about the man behind Alpha Corp.

Soon, another news article arrived, leaking Leo's identity.

[Exclusive Scoop: Mystery Man's identity uncovered!]

The article, within hours of being published, became one of the most read articles on earth.

The article's writer even posted pictures of the place where Leo had actually lived until recently, the trashy place.

[As per our investigation, the mystery man is named Leo Vanderlen, an orphan who lived in this place until recently. His neighbours describe him as an 'introverted jobless idiot'.]

The article further continued, growing more and more defamatory later on.

[A man that was rejected for every job he applied... Could he really be called a genius? Or can we say that he just got lucky? Is the mystery man nothing but a result of overhype?]

[It looks like the medical industry has nothing to worry about! Leo Vanderlen looks like a one time wonder. The man who claimed to lead the future era of science is nothing special...]

The article's writer looked really proud of his research. As he watched the article rise in popularity, relying on mystery man's reputation, he was grinning from ear to ear.

"I can't believe I am so lucky! The so-called mystery man was none other than my old classmate! Just wait a little longer!"

"After the hype of this article dies down, I will release more information about his past! Thanks for helping me, Leo. Thanks for once again becoming my stepping stone."

The man tossed his head back on the chair and burst out laughing.

"Hahaha, Alpha Corp, my ass. You will never succeed, Leo Vanderlen!"

He was so lost in his own happiness at the rising clicks to his article that he didn't even bother checking the comments or the other forums where he was being discussed instead.

[Panicker77: The Writer looks like a jealous cuck. Even Blaze is fighting over this mystery man! If he's just a lucky one time wonder, then what are we? Useless chickens?]

The writer, a man named Greg who had always considered himself the smart one in high school, took a sip of his lukewarm coffee.

"Greg, it's not good!" A man barged into Greg's office, bringing him back to reality. "Check the comments!"

"Why are you so worried? Are you getting jealous of my popularity?" Greg laughed, but he still straightened his back.

He refreshed the page, expecting to see the world turning on Leo. He expected outrage. He expected people to mock the 'trash-dwelling loser'.

Instead, he saw the view count exploding and the comment section turning into a war zone where he was the primary target.

[BigBicepsAlchemist: LMAO. Imagine writing a hit piece on the guy who invented a miracle elixir because he didn't have a job. Bro, he was busy inventing the future while you were busy writing this garbage. #TeamLeo]

[SleepyCat: Wait, so he lived in a dump and was an introvert? HE IS JUST LIKE ME FR FR. Finally, a hero for the socially awkward!]

[GamerFuel_9000: Neighbors describe him as a jobless idiot? Sounds like a projection, buddy. Post your bank account balance next to Leo's. I bet his trashy place is worth more than your journalism degree. L + Ratio + Touch Grass.]

Greg's smile faltered. He scrolled down frantically, looking for someone, anyone, who agreed with him.

[KarenSlayer: Is nobody going to talk about the fact that this reporter basically admitted to stalking? 'We took pictures of his trash'? Get a life, creep! Let the man make his magic elixir in peace!]

[ThirstyWitch: So you're saying he's single, used to low standards of living, and is now a billionaire genius? PLEASE DROP THE GPS COORDINATES. I can fix him. Or he can fix me. I don't care.]

[AlphaMaleTactics: The Sigma Grindset is real.

Step 1: Be homeless.

Step 2: Be ignored by society.

Step 3: Invent God-tier potion.

Step 4: Have Blaze fight the Guild Master for you.

Step 5: Profit.

Leo is the ultimate Alpha. This writer is a Beta cuck.]

"What... What is wrong with these people?" Greg stammered, his hand shaking on the mouse. "I exposed him! I showed them he's just a lucky nobody!"

He refreshed the page again. The comments were coming in faster now, devolving into pure internet chaos.

[ConspiracyBob: FALSE FLAG. If you trust this stupid article writer, then I might have a star to sell you! Only a few billion credits. First come first serve!]

[xX_Sephiroth_Xx: I zoomed in on the picture of his old apartment. Is that a limited edition noodle cup in the trash? Respect. A man of culture.]

[MedicMain: The article says he was rejected for every job. To all the HR managers who rejected the guy who just revolutionized medicine. Congratulations, you played yourselves.]

[BlazeFanClub_Official: If Blaze trusts him, we trust him. If you hate him, you hate Blaze. And if you hate Blaze, we will find you. Watch your back, writer boy.]

[WallStreetBets_YOLO: If I could, I would put my life savings into Alpha Corp because the CEO used to live in a dumpster. Dysfunctional genius is the most bullish signal in the market. LEO TO THE MOON!]

Greg slammed his laptop shut, his face turning a deep shade of red. He had wanted to destroy Leo's reputation, and build his own. Instead, he had accidentally turned Leo from a Mystery Man into a Relatable Underdog Icon.

Somewhere in the city, the Global ID Network crashed for the fifty-first time as millions of people tried to find out what brand of instant noodles the God of Alchemy preferred.

...

Unaware of the Chaos that had swept over earth, Leo was still on the way back.

"Finally I won't have to watch over my shoulder constantly. I can finally return to earth where no one knows me. I just have to stay away from the Hero Tower and I'll be fine," Leo mumbled, looking forward to his first trip home after getting reward credits from the system.
