Cipher decided to check his upgraded skill first before moving to the cheat shop.
[Unique Skill: Will Of The Absolute]
[Type: Passive/Active]
[Edition: Live, Negative]
[Subskills: Sword Domain, First Sword]
[Cost: 0 Mana]
[Description: The will of an unrivaled supreme being. All attacks deal 500% base damage. Grants immunity to all mind related status effects. 100% resistance to all dark elemental damage. Can convert mana to demonic qi at a rate of 5:1. Can substitute demonic qi for mana costs at a rate of 1:1. All skills executed through demonic qi deal an additional 500% dark elemental damage.]
[Note: Skills with effects adapt when used with demonic qi. Defensive skills gain an additional demonic shield. Light-based skills and healing skills have reduced efficiency when powered by demonic qi.]
Cipher's mouth fell open as he read the description.
Talk about broken.
The skill had changed completely. It no longer applied to just sword skills anymore. This meant all his attacks would start off with five times base damage. And when using demonic qi, that would be ten times.
The previous resistance to curse, fear, and charm had evolved into immunity to all mind-related status effects. At his current level, mental interference was the only real threat to him. If he couldn't think rationally, he might not survive. But as long as he could think - even if he was unconscious and immobilized - he could always use his other consciousness to activate something like Fast Travel and retreat to safety.
And the previous 80% dark elemental resistance was now 100%. Of course, he would still suffer the physical damage, but elemental damage from darkness wouldn't be a problem anymore.
Being immune to an entire element felt nice.
Another change was that the conversion rate from mana to demonic qi had actually halved. This meant he was now generating about a thousand demonic qi every hour he was out of combat. He already had practically infinite qi before, but this was a whole other level.
He then turned his attention to the subskills. He had seen them with Maya's skill earlier - they were definitely useful. He wondered what his own subskills did.
They sounded quite powerful.
But as he read through them, he slowly became disappointed. They weren't skills he could actually use. Well, they were, but it was more like he could summon Lyra and have her use them. Technically it was him using them since she was his skill, but like...
He sighed.
Well, no matter.
His expression then brightened again. It was time to check out the cheat shop.
…
The cards in the shop were Exploit, Merge, and Mirror. The packs were two Mega Code Packs - it seemed his luck was quite good this time. As for the voucher, it was actually another DLC. A Mod DLC, to be specific.
The previous Code DLC had been quite useful, but he was unsure about this one. On one hand, the Mod DLC might bring forth great mod cards to the shop. But on the other hand, it would dilute the card pool, making it harder to get the cards he really wanted - like Optimize, Merge, and Fork.
To be honest, at the moment, code cards were of much more importance than mod cards. And the current ones were even more critical. He needed to be able to hit them reliably. Even if another Code DLC were to appear, he wasn't sure he could accept it that easily.
He needed to reliably hit the important cards.
He sighed. Well, he would think about it later.
He turned his attention to the Roll for Cheat button and pressed it. He had 20 roll chances, so something good was bound to appear, right?

[Cheat: Terrain Scanner]
[Dependencies: Map Editor]
[Type: Plugin]
[Description: Allows the user to scan structures and instantly gain its blueprints.]
He read through the description. This was weird - it didn't have a level, and the type said Plugin. Looking at his cheats, he noticed it didn't appear in the list. It seemed this cheat really was a plugin. It just connected to his Map Editor cheat and enhanced its abilities.
Map Editor was already at max level, so he supposed this was how the capabilities of maxed-out cheats were expanded. While he was disappointed this was what he had rolled, it was a pleasant discovery. Some of his max level cheats seemed to be lacking in certain aspects. If their capabilities could be expanded through plugins, then that would be greatly appreciated.
He looked at the roll button and rolled again.
[Congratulations! Item Duplication (Level 1) has advanced to Item Duplication (Level 2)]
A duplicate of Item Duplication?
This time, it allowed him to make two identical copies of one item. The other restrictions still applied though.
He looked at the roll button again. He still had eighteen rolls left. They weren't all going to be duplicates, right?
[Congratulations! XP Multiplier (Level 1) has advanced to XP Multiplier (Level 2)]
Bruh.
This was like his most useless cheat. Now he could multiply all incoming XP by three. And now he was down three chances.
He rolled again.
[Congratulations! Fast Travel (Level 1) has advanced to Fast Travel (Level 2)]
Okay, this one was kind of useful. The cooldown for Fast Travel was reduced from 24 hours to just 12 hours. Although it was good, he couldn't help but wonder what was up with his luck this time.

[Cheat: Wallhack (Max Level)]
[Type: Toggle]
[Description: See through all solid objects within line of sight. Living beings appear as colored silhouettes based on their rank. Hidden traps, treasures, and secret passages are automatically highlighted.]
[Note: Does not grant the ability to pass through walls.]
Alright, now we're talking, he thought.
Suddenly, his vision began to blur. The world around him peeled away in layers - solid items became transparent, revealing what existed behind them. All sorts of strange colors exploded across his sight.
Reds, blues, greens, yellows, all overlapping and bleeding into one another. The ground beneath him revealed buried objects glowing with soft light. The roots going through the earth. Everything. It was too much. Far too much.
"Cipher?!" Maya shook him, noticing his expression, "Are you okay? What's happening?"
He quickly toggled off the Wallhack cheat. The world snapped back to normal, solid and opaque once more.
"I'm fine," he reassured her, blinking away the lingering afterimages. "I was just testing out some of my skills."
It seemed this one needed some getting used to before he could use it without issues.
Now he had fifteen roll chances left. He pressed the button and hoped for something good.
