"Wow, so scary!" Lily was shocked by the spider's ugly look and instinctively stepped behind George.
[Shadow Spider: 35-level, common monster in the edge of the Dark Forest, has poison, can shoot spider silk, afraid of fire...]
George saw the stats of the Shadow Spider. They were 35-level monsters, even higher than the Spider Queen.
But these were just regular monsters, not bosses.
"A bunch of bugs!" Constantine was angry and swung his War Hammer at the spiders floating in the air.
Whoosh...
A strong wind blew. The spiders, sensing the attack through their silk, dodged easily. Only two unlucky ones were crushed into meat.
"Wow, so fast?" Constantine was surprised.
To him, these spiders were too small, like flies. His War Hammer wasn't doing much damage.
"I'll handle it. Constantine, Melina, protect the master and this little girl," Elise said, spreading her wings, and flew up into the air. She cast a few fireballs with her staff.
Boom, boom...
Fire exploded. The fireballs hit the Shadow Spiders and exploded, killing them instantly.

[Killed Shadow Spider, Experience +1750]
[Dropped: Spider Silk x7, Spider Gland x4, Spider Fang x12, Spider Eye x16...]
The messages kept coming. The Shadow Spiders dropped a lot of materials when they died.
Most of the materials on the spiders could be used to make potions. Their quality was all C-tier or higher, and they were worth a lot.
George and the others picked everything up.
"These guys are really annoying," Constantine said, scratching his head. The Shadow Spiders were too fast, moving around the trees. His War Hammer and bone attacks didn't do much damage.
George said, "They're afraid of fire magic. You're using physical attacks. Take a break."
Constantine and Melina were physical fighters. They had a few magic skills, but they were all close-range. They didn't have an advantage against the fast Shadow Spiders.
If the Golden Flame Dragon wasn't hurt, his Dragon Flame would be the perfect counter.
"Fire magic! Got it!" Constantine brightened up when he heard George's words. He whispered a spell, and a strong dark power surrounded him.
It was a summoning spell.
George knew what he was about to do.
"Out, Dark Infernal Lord!" Constantine shouted, and a rift opened in the air. A bunch of dark monsters appeared, 30-level Dark Infernal Lords, who had both dark and fire magic.
Constantine was at 40-level, so the monsters he summoned were now 30-level.
"Go! Kill these annoying Shadow Spiders!" He waved his hand and ordered coldly.
Hundreds of Infernal Lords flew in, surrounded by black flames, and attacked the spiders.
They were 30-level, but with fire magic, they had no problem killing the Shadow Spiders.
The Infernal Lords cleared the way. Elise flew up, her magic roaring, and killed the spiders. The group pushed forward, killing their way to the center of the Shadow Spider territory.
"George, I reached level 30! I can do a class advancement now," Lily said happily.
George wasn't surprised. He said, "After we kill the Spider Queen here, I'll take you back to advance."
Reaching level 30 required finishing an advancement quest, but experience gain was still fine.
"Never mind, I have an Advanced Crystal," Lily smiled slightly, taking out a crystal and crushing it without hesitation.
Most noble family kids carried one or two Advanced Crystals as backup.
Advanced Crystals were expensive. Only George and Anna had such a close relationship to always get them for free.
"How's the advancement quest?" George asked curiously.
Lily pouted, looking a little upset. "George, I need to kill a 30-level Abyss boss."
"Another Abyss boss?" George was surprised. His own advancement quest was always to kill an Abyss boss. He didn't expect Lily to have the same one too.
It seemed this little girl had an unusual class.
But it made sense. Lily was now an SSR-tier class-Dragonkin Priestess.
She nodded and said, "My last advancement quest was just to kill ten monsters at my level. I didn't expect this one to require killing an Abyss boss. The difficulty just jumped a lot."
"Don't worry, I'll help," George said.
This was the Abyss realm. There were Abyss monsters everywhere. Finding a 30-level Abyss boss wasn't hard.
"Elise, keep an eye out. Any 30-level or higher Abyss boss?" George told Elise, who was in the air.
"Got it."
Elise answered, then swung her staff. A rain of fire filled the sky, wide-range fire magic attack.
The spider silk floating in the air caught fire. The Shadow Spiders were burned and screamed in pain.
"Master, I found a 35-level, A-tier Shadow Spider boss," Elise said quickly.
"Good. Let's bring it down first," George ordered immediately.
The advancement quest needed to be killed by the player themselves or by a summoned beast.
Elise wasn't Lily's summoned beast, so only Lily could kill it to finish the quest.
"Master, let me do it," Constantine noticed the Shadow Spider, which was as big as a calf. He raised his War Hammer and looked eager.
"Don't interfere," George quickly stopped him. This guy's damage was crazy. He might be killed in one hit.
"Fine," Constantine sighed, pouting. He took his anger out on other Shadow Spiders instead.
Soon, the Shadow Spider was weakened by Elise. Its HP was down to just over 10,000. It was thrown right in front of George.
"Master, its eight legs are broken. It has almost no way to attack," Elise said.
Elise was cruel. She had broken not only the eight legs but also cut off half its tail. Only one fang was left, and black blood was flowing from its mouth. It glared at George and the others with hatred.
"Thanks, Elise," Lily said politely. She raised her staff and whispered a spell. A flame shot out, hitting the Shadow Spider boss.
The Shadow Spider was knocked back, losing over 700 HP.
"Dragon Flame?" George was a little surprised. The flame Lily just used had a hint of Dragon Flame energy.
It seemed this little girl was telling the truth. She might really know dragon language magic.
The Shadow Spider boss cried in pain, then spoke in human words, "You lowly humans, the Spider Queen will not forgive you."
"Is that so? If you tell us where the Spider Queen is, I might give you a quick death," George said, interested. He spoke coldly.
They had already entered the core area of the Shadow Spider. They were killing a lot, but they hadn't found the Spider Queen yet.
"Daydream!" The Shadow Spider roared in anger and refused to speak.
George didn't feel like arguing. He just let Lily attack.
Flames flew. The Shadow Spider screamed in pain. Its HP kept dropping. Death was coming. It was no longer arrogant. Its face was full of fear.
"Human, I'll tell you where the Spider Queen is. Can you spare my life?" It was covered in wounds and looked terrified. It had given up under Lily's attacks.
George nodded. "Sure. Where is the Spider Queen hiding?"
"You have to swear. After I tell you, you won't kill me," the Shadow Spider clearly didn't trust him.
"Okay, I swear," George said without thinking.
The Shadow Spider finally relaxed. It said, "The queen was hurt by a group of humans a few days ago. She's hiding in a secret cave ahead."
The Spider Queen was hurt?
So there were other human adventurers after her too. But George had arrived just in time.
"Good," George said, nodding. He looked at Lily, who had put her staff away. "What are you waiting for? Keep attacking. You don't want to finish your advancement quest?"
"Ah?" The girl looked confused. "George, didn't you say you'd spare it?"
"What does that have to do with you?" George said coldly.
Lily's eyes lit up. It made sense.
"Betrayal! Human, you broke your word. I curse you to die a bad death!" The Shadow Spider shouted, angry. Humans were tricky. It shouldn't have trusted them.
"Who dares insult George? I'll kill you now," Lily said. She raised her staff and whispered a spell. A bunch of fireballs flew out, hitting the helpless Shadow Spider.
"Lowly humans, the queen will never forgive you..." The Shadow Spider screamed in anger. Its HP dropped to zero. It was dead.
And Lily finished her advancement quest. Her level jumped straight to 31.
"George, I learned two strong skills. And I can feel it-next time I advance, I'll fully master dragon language magic," Lily said happily.
This time, she had gotten a big boost.
George felt a change in his chest. It was the Golden Flame Dragon.
It looked like, as Lily grew stronger, the Golden Flame Dragon was taking in her strength. Its life force was getting better.
Was this the Dragon's core spirit?
George was confused. It seemed Lily's class, Dragonkin Priestess, had some secret.
"What skills did you learn?" he asked curiously.
"Dragon's Majesty and Destruction Impact," Lily said without holding back. She explained both skills in detail.
Dragon's Majesty was a support skill. It could weaken weaker enemies, cutting their stats by up to 50%. Destruction Impact was like a dragon skill. It hit all enemies around her.
"Good. Let's try to get you to level 40 this time," George said.
He felt that Lily's growing strength was helping the Golden Flame Dragon a lot.
