Thrusted into a world ruled by women

Chapter 106: Explosive Anger

Jin was walking back to his apartment when he got a call from Anyssa. When he picked up, he could hear panic in her voice.

"Jin! Jin, thank the goddess you picked up! It's Brittany! She...She's fallen in combat."

It took a bit for her words to register in his head. "What do you mean she's fallen in combat? Are you pranking me again?"

Anyssa and Brittany were notorious for playing pranks on him to make him worry for no reason. Recently, when Brittany joined the Aegis Corps, the pranks didn't happen as much, but they still found time to mess around with him.

"No! I promise! Meet me at the Aegis Corps!"

"Which branch?" He asked

"The main one!"

Jin wasted no time and took off toward the main branch. When he arrived, he saw Anyssa pacing outside the doors with a worried expression.

"Auntie! I'm here!"

"Jin!" She hugged him tightly, feeling relieved that Jin was alright.

"What's going on? What happened to Brittany?"

"Come inside, someone will explain it to us."

Anyssa led Jin to a part of the Aegis Corps where civilians go when they get calls that usually contain bad news. He had never been in this section before, even when his parents died. The reason was that he saw their dead bodies right in front of him before passing out from the trauma.

He pitied his young mind, not having his past lives at the time to lessen the trauma.

"This is the fallen soldiers wing." Jin pointed out.

Anyssa didn't answer. She held his hand and gripped it tightly.

Jin didn't want to believe what was happening, but if things were as they seemed, then his world would come crashing down.

"In here." Anyssa said, opening a door.

Inside were many people, fathers, mothers, siblings, or parental guardians, all of whom had red eyes, crying from the loss of their family members.

There were some whom he recognized. Adeline and her entire family were here, her husband and sons sobbing their eyes out while she and her daughters had angry and defeated expressions.

There was another family that was familiar to him as well. These three were Angela's mother, father, and brother. All of them were also extremely heartbroken, even if they didn't have the best relationship.

'No way! This...this isn't happening! This can't be happening! Not again!' Jin stumbled into a seat, not believing what was going on with Anyssa sitting down next to him, wrapping her arm around him. He had lost so many friends over the course of his many lives, and each death was hard on him.

People would think that after living for so long, death would feel normal to him, but that wasn't the case. Jin always made sure to love and care for his friends and family in each life he lived, so when they died, it always hurt him to the core, no matter which life he was on.

"Thank you all for coming today." Miss Lockman said in a soft tone, walking inside the room. She didn't wait for any response, as that would be unnecessary.

"A week ago, we sent these people on a secret mission. On the way to the location, they were attacked by an unknown group of people, destroying the aircraft carrier that they were on. Unfortunately, most die in the explosion, and the ones who managed to make it out were shot down out of the sky."

The sobs and wails became worse as the families heard how their loved ones died.

"C-Can we see their bodies?" Adeline asked?

Miss Lockman's face hardened. "You may, but some of the bodies weren't recovered. Their vitals went offline, and when we canvased the area, we couldn't find some of the bodies. What we did learn was that some...some were burned until not even ashes were left."

More cries and wails filled the room.

'Wait! Vital signs!' Jin instantly activated his power kit and pulled up the vital signs of Angela, Addison, and Brittany. Jin made sure to have the vitals of the three of them in his own data bank. Not only that, but he even had the vitals of Anyssa and Oculia.

All of them had a tiny chip inside their body that allowed him to see their vitals at any time he wanted, and when he saw them, he noticed that all of them were still active.

Jin stood up, catching the attention of everyone in the room. "Addison, Angela, and Brittany are still alive. I'm going to find out who did this and end them."

Miss Lockman stepped forward. "Jin, I know you're upset, but—"

"Shut. The. Fuck. Up." He took off without waiting for what she had to say.

Jin flew into the air, breaking the sound barrier as he flew toward the location where his girl's vitals were pinging.

'You three are strong. I know you all wont be dead. What will I do without you all here with me? Ha. Please be safe!'

When Jin found where the vitals were pinging, he saw a charred area where a battle once was. Floating to the ground, he scanned the entire area, searching for anything that could lead him to his loved ones.

"Yes! There they are!" Jin ran to a nearby cave. It was completely hidden. In fact, it looked manmade. The entrance was blocked off by nature, and it was completely out of sight if someone were to walk past it.

"Ha! I knew you three weren't dead! Do you know how worried I was? I nearly cried! If you do something like this again, then I'm going to—" Jin dodged backward as a beam of energy flew past his head.

He was confused, wondering why they would attack him, but he soon got his answer.

"Were you expecting someone else?" A woman asked, walking closer to Jin with a smug expression.

Jin squinted his eyes, and his mouth twitched from anger. Checking the vitals once more, he saw that it was inside this cave, so he knew Brittany, Angela, and Addison were still here.

"Step aside. I won't ask you again." Jin demanded

"Oh wow, I'm so scared, right, girls?"

Two more girls stepped into the light, both having smug expressions.

"He knew you would come, and he knew you had your own vital chip inside those three bitches. So, he extracted them and used use to lure you out here. We also destroyed that one girl's Power Kit. Hell, we even have the same powers as those three to play the parts; well, our powers are close enough to theirs."

Jin's anger started to rise. He knew the woman was talking about the Speaker; it was obvious.

"Where are they?"

"Dunno. Probably dead by now. But don't worry. We made sure to extract their powers before killing them."

And that did it. The string that kept Jin's sanity in line snapped into two. His power exploded from his body, being fueled by his rage and anger. His purple energy was non-existent, replaced by a blood-red energy that made him look ferocious.
