Thrusted into a world ruled by women

Chapter 112: It's a success but not really

Jin couldn't believe it. Karen, who helped him when he needed her, was an agent for the Sons of Adam the entire time. But the more he thought about it, the more it made sense.

She never did anything to the Brotherhood. She relied on Jin to bring in information when it came to them. She was never around during an attack from the Sons of Adam, and every time they worked together, it was either about the Sons of Adam or the Brotherhood, which was the same organization.

"I've been played." He couldn't even be mad. This was his fault. He had gotten soft.

If this were one of his other lives, Jin would have caught on by now, but since he didn't wish to take anything seriously in this life and only wanted to relax, he didn't catch on.

"I'll be having a chat with her later, but for now, let's check up on the four of them."

Jin started with Brittany, checking her body to see if there was any long-lasting damage that he needed to heal. Luckily, she was fine and only had broken bones that Jin's mana didn't heal properly since it was going berserk.

After properly healing her, he also made Brittany drink a healing potion just in case.

After that, he did the same thing to Addison and Angela.

Addison had a damaged brain, that why she wasn't waking up. Jin focused his energy on her head, and once it was healed, he focused on her body, then had her drink a healing potion.

For Angela, her eyes were permanently damaged, so he focused his healing there, restoring her sight. He then healed the rest of her body and made her drink a healing potion as well.

Because of his actions, none of them would suffer permanent damage to their bodies and would be as healthy as they were before, heck, probably even better.

The only thing that he couldn't restore was their abilities.

Jin had his computer scan their DNA structure and saw that they had no strands that were related to their powers. The DNA that gives women powers, and that men carry to pass on to their daughters, was there, but the DNA that allows them to activate their powers was not there.

"That's...man... I'm so sorry. I should have..." Jin stopped talking and turned to Roby.

He scanned his body, pulling up his X-ray as a hologram.

"I understand everything now. This is Project Omega." Jin looked at the hologram and couldn't believe his eyes. Roby actually had powers.

"The DNA strand for activating powers is active in Roby, but it's dying. Hmm." Jin dug deeper to understand exactly how this entire process worked.

"So, the nanites bonded with his DNA to allow for cellular replication, and by the looks of things, establish a connection with the high-tech endoskeleton." Jin looked at Roby's body more intently.

"Ahh. The nanites made his body accept the skeleton. That makes sense because the body is weird, and sometimes it doesn't like it when foreign things enter it. Now, for the Phoenix Core, it was used to help the healing process since tech-based cellular regeneration wouldn't be enough. But it also serves as a way to preserve his DNA."

When Jin saw that Roby's DNA was dying, he also saw that it regenerated.

"But the only part of his DNA that is degrading is the, well, to put it in basic terms, the on and off button for powers. Men don't have the DNA strand that gives the 'on' button, so that was either forcibly implanted in him, or forcibly activated."

Jin zoomed in on that DNA strand, looking to see what it was made out of.

"Wow! They are crazy! This is a merged DNA strand! No wonder it's degrading. His body isn't a match. It's like putting the wrong blood type into a person. That leads to a disaster! The phoenix core was really vital to this project. However, there is one thing that's bothering me."

Jin looked at Roby's brain. From the looks of things, it seems that the project wasn't a success in the long run. Roby's brain was actually dying, at least part of it was. When he would activate his power, his brain would send a command, but that command isn't a part of a man's brain structure, so it zapped tons of energy from the brain, more than what the Phoenix core energy could keep up with.

This would leave the man brain-dead at a certain point in time.

"I read about a similar ability like this once, but with eyes. I wonder if replacing his brain would fix the problem. Nah, probably not."

Jin healed Roby's brain back to normal and waited for everyone to wake up. In the meantime, he continued absorbing mana to become stronger.

A few more hours later, Addison was the first to wake up.

"Mmmnngh. Where am I?" She asked, slowly leaning up from the bed.

"Home," Jin responded with a smile.

"Jin?" Her eyes started to tear up.

"Yeah. It's me."

She cried. It was silent, but she still cried. She was so happy to see him, so happy that she was alive, and so happy that she was home.

Jin went to her, wrapping his arms around Addison, and gave her a lengthy kiss on the lips.

"My powers—"

"Shhh. Don't think about that right now. You're safe, you're alive, and you're with me."

"Yeah." She was already devastated. A week had passed since she had lost her powers, so she had more than enough time to think about that horrible feeling, but Jin was right; she wasn't going to think about that.

"Thank you for rescuing me."

"I'd do anything for you, Addison. Even if it meant crossing hell."

"Heh, so will you finally marry me?"

"Haha, you're still not over that?" Jin chuckled

"I will keep asking until you say yes."

"What if I say no?"

"Is that a yes?"

"No."

"Then why ask a stupid question like that?"
