"I'm...I'm okay!" Mrs Horton tapped her body all over, feeling her powers still intact. It was obvious since she was still flying, but it was that initial sense of 'what if' that made her double-check to see if she still had her powers or not.

"H-How did you do this?" She asked Jin

"Electro-Magnetic Field." A lie, of course, but he had no reason to tell her the truth. He sent an alert to the power kits of his girls just in case as well.

Jin checked everything that was going on in the city using his scanners. There were approximately 100 million people who lived in the city of Solara. In fact, the city was more like a district or a province than an actual city.

Out of those 100 million, 35 million women had powers and abilities, the rest being young girls who hadn't awakened yet.

That number was drastically decreasing rapidly. On the bright side, there were only about five hundred thousand of the golden beams that stripped powers away, but 500k was still a large number.

"Mrs Horton, the enemy's weapon is in space. It's most likely going to be guarded by the top agents of the Sons of Adam, but if you can destroy it, then this will be a lot easier to deal with, and we can end this crisis before it gets even more out of hand."

She nodded, looking into the sky. Because of her abilities, she was insanely broken. She made her eyes zoom into space, seeing the weapon in upper orbit.

"I never understood space weapons aimed at the planet." She sighed. "So impractical."

Jin looked up at the sky, then down toward the chaos ensuing on the ground. "While you're handling that, I will go around the city helping as many people as I can. I have no idea where the speaker is, but I'm assuming he will be somewhere in space."

"Richard Dickson, why did you kill him?"

'Really? She's asking me this now?'

"I thought he was the speaker, but he's just a clone. The real speaker is Carlnitus Carlnitos."

"WHAT?" That wasn't who she expected to be leading this crazy ass cult.

"I know. But if I have learned something over the years, it's to never trust anyone named Carl." Jin flew away.

"Heh, never trust a person named Carl? That's funny." Mrs Horton flew away as well, flying toward space.

A laser tore through the air toward her, detecting that she still had her powers.

"Haha! That won't work on me now!" She flew even faster, her fist clenched, and punched right through the laser, but that was a mistake.

All the way in space, Carlnitus was watching everything go down.

"S-Sir! Jin did something to Lacey Horton, which made her immune to the effects of the Zapatron!"

Carlnitus squinted his eyes. "Attack her again, and this time, use the poison."

"Yes, sir."

Back on the planet, when Mrs Horton punched the laser, it was traced with a poison that only affects women. The Sons of Adam were the ones to steal the space rock from the Aegis Corps and had weaponized it in case they needed to use its properties.

This wasn't something they wanted because they needed to absorb the powers of women, not kill them. Still, getting rid of someone such as Lacey Horton would be a reasonable trade-off.

The beam was lased with the poison, weakening Mrs Horton, forcing her to gasp for air. She tried to work through it, making her body adjust and adapt, but the rock didn't care how powerful a person's powers were.

Eventually, she wasn't strong enough to sustain flight, and she fell to the ground.

[Lacey Horton has fallen.] Jin's computer informed him.

"What?!" He turned around to see her falling out of the sky.

Moving quickly, he raced over to her, catching his former principal before she crashed landed.

"She's poisoned, but I've never seen a poison like this. It's as if it's attacking her DNA structure." Jin injected mana into her body, then removed the poison. Thankfully, the poison didn't affect him, but it was still weird that a substance could do this.

'This could be what Brittany and them were attempting to retrieve on their mission.' Jin had hacked into the files and read everything.

"J-Jin? Thanks." Mrs Horton spoke while breathing normally.

"Okay, how about this? You handle things down below, and I'll handle things from above. If you're taken out, then everything is over."

She nodded. "I hate to rely on you, but if you are able to stop these bastards, then I will be grateful."

"Yeah." Jin nodded. "Look. If you touch a woman, the field around you will replicate, and they will be protected by it as well. Go around and touch as many women as you can. That sounds weird, but you get what I'm talking about."

"I do. Try not to die, I don't want to lose you like I lost your mother." She took off, a shockwave blowing Jin's hair backward.

"Heh, yeah. Thanks, I guess." Jin then called Brittany.

"Jin? What's up?" She asked

"Where are you?"

"With my mom."

"Did you get the alert on your power kit?" He asked.

"I did. She's safe."

The moment he learned that his mana was able to block the power-absorbing beam, he sent an alert to the power kits of his girls, telling them what to do. The suits contained traces of his mana, so they were able to replicate what he did.

"Good. I'm going to need you to come with me. We're going to get your powers back." He sent his location.

"I'm on my way!"

Jin called Addison and Angela as well, and they told them that they would arrive soon.

'Once this is over, I'm locking myself into training. I won't be weak like this again. To live a good, comfortable life, you have to be strong enough to protect it.' Jin thought about his friend's words from a previous life. 'Kai, maybe you are right sometimes, even if you are an idiot who only thinks with his lower half.'
