"Jin?! Jin, what's the matter?!" Mrs Horton asked

"Yeah, we have a problem. It appears that the Láspi managed to head to another asteroid and merged with a Láspi that was on it. It's fucking massive!" Jin was angry. This wouldn't have happened if they all had listened to him.

"Jin, retreat for now. It will be better to take this monster altogether."

"Yeah, no. I'm not waiting for it to get any closer. Try to keep up, everyone." He took off toward the Láspi

"We're right behind you, Jin! Just hold on until we get there!" Brittany informed him on their comms as Jerrica steered the ship toward his location.

"Got it."

The Láspi had known Jin was here already since he had destroyed a part of its body, so when it saw Jin coming toward itself, it created a large fireball, shooting it toward him.

"Please." A lightning bolt crackled in Jin's hand as he chucked it toward the Láspi with divine fury.

The lightning bolt tore through the fireball, striking the Láspi right in the chest, knocking it back a bit. Jin then clapped his hands, and all of the lightning lingering in the Láspi's body exploded, dealing more damage to it.

'You dare attack us?! We will ravage your planet!' The Láspi bellowed in Jin's head.

"What did I tell you about speaking to me in my head?" Jin's power kit armor around his arm morphed into a cannon. "Stay out of it." He fired, shooting a concentrated beam of photon energy.

The electric-based attacks worked wonders against the Láspi, but because of its size, it would take a lot of lightning to bring the creature down.

"We're here!" Brittany alerted Jin.

"Fire at it."

All of the ships started firing at the Láspi with photon cannons, hurting the Láspi to the point where everyone could see its body start to break down.

Angered, the Láspi swiped its gooey arms, its telekinetic powers causing the ships to be thrown into deep space.

But before they could all be flung away, Jin caught them all with his mana, allowing the ships to stabilize and start shooting at the Láspi again.

"That's more like it."

'Humans! We hate humans!' Fire ignited over the Láspi's clear body, and with a stomp, a wave of powerful flames jetted out in all directions.

"Brace for impact!"

While the ships put up their shields, Jin stood firm, tanking the fiery attack.

'Something's off.' Jin thought to himself as he went in to attack the monster once more. He had no problem fighting the Láspi, and he could even tell that the Láspi was trying its best, but he still felt like something was off.

"What are you planning?!" He demanded to know.

'Aren't secrets meant to stay that way?' The ground started to freeze in the Láspi's goopy feet, and its eyes started to glow.

"What the—" Jin jumped out of the way, avoiding the ice and heat vision, counterattacking by shooting a hole in the Láspi's chest with another photon energy blast.

"Jin to dispatch, I think we should retreat. Something feels off. I can't explain it, but this doesn't sit right with me."

"What do you mean?" Mrs Horton asked

"The Láspi, it's not moving from its spot. It's as if it wants to stay where it's at."

"And how is that a bad thing?"

"Why wouldn't a monster engage its enemies in battle unless it's planning something?" Jin asked back.

'You were always smart, Jin.' Tendrils of the Láspi shot out from the asteroid, flying in multiple directions. Some of the tendrils tore right through two space ships, attempting to absorb them, but weren't able to thanks to Jin's stimulant.

Other tendrils were flying in the direction of the other asteroids.

"Cut the tendrils! It's aiming for the asteroids!" Jin created a lightning blade and sliced three tendrils all at once, frying the tendrils so they wouldn't survive as a separate piece of the Láspi.

"Haha! Die, die, die!" Angela started shooting at the tendrils in the gunner's seat, destroying a few as well.

Jin flew over to those tendrils and zapped them as well.

This continued until every tendril was destroyed, and Jin went over to the main body of the Láspi.

"I'm ending this." Jin charged at the Láspi with lightning crackling around his body.

'Yes. Come at us, Jin. Avenge your previous world.'

Hearing the Láspi speak about its former life angered him, so he paused, threw the lightning, then continued to hold out his hand. The space around the asteroid shifted, then everything stretched, and before the Láspi could react, it was sucked into a black hole. It was a spell coated in another spell.

Thanks to it being his own magic, Jin was able to add a lightning effect to the black hole, where if this were a naturally occurring one, he wouldn't have been able to do so.

He thought about using this spell at the start, but he didn't want the Láspi to catch wind of his attack, so he was building up to this spell while fighting it.

"Did you get it?" Mrs Horton asked

Jin used his spell to check for the Láspi, the same spell he used on the moon base to locate the Láspi. He couldn't find any active trace of it.

"I think so."

"That's good enough for me. All of you, head back to the planet. We go over everything we learned once you've returned."

Jin didn't fly back to the ship right away. He still felt like something was off, and being alive for a long time made him trust his instincts more than anything, even if they were wrong.

"Jin? You coming?" Addison asked

He didn't answer right away, but then replied, returning to the ship.

'We need to grow stronger!' The Láspi spoke to its brethren.

'The planet is full of life!'

'But it's too dangerous. The magnetic sphere will kill us!'

Before the team had arrived, the Láspi had already split itself and sent it to another asteroid, far away from the first team's location.

Thanks to its rapid evolution, it was able to deduce a plan to fake out Jin and the Aegis corps to get stronger without being interrupted.

'We will head to each asterid in this belt, absorbing one another to gain strength. After that, we will split into two, one going to the planet, while the other goes to the colony hive.'

'We shall prevail!'
