The women in the hall were appalled by Jin's boldness. He was standing before six of the most powerful people in the country, all of them on the level of Mrs Horton.
Even the councilwomen were shocked by this. But what really shocked them was the fact that Jin was still standing.
"Interesting." The blonde woman crossed her legs. "This wont work."
"We don't need his cooperation. I say we toss him into the correction center." The brown haired councilwoman suggested.
"That isn't necessary." Jerrica disagreed. "I already have what we are looking for in my system. You can study it after taking a blood sample."
"Someone doesn't want her grandson to be harmed." A blue-haired councilwoman chuckled.
"Atalana has a point." The red-haired woman said, referring to the blonde-haired woman.
"How so?" Jerrica asked
"The production of an unlicensed Power Kit that didn't go through the system. The creation of some sort of serum to combat the Láspi, which didn't go through the legal steps to make sure everything was safe to use. The constant disobeying of orders, talking back to superiors, threatening the council, gathering classified information, hacking into our system as well as the military, and finally, not cooperating in order to deal with an extraterrestrial threat."
She was right. All of that would give Jin a heavy prison sentence. Not that he was worried about that or anything.
"You forgot to mention breaking and entering, as well as the theft of Aegis Corps property." Roselyn, the blonde, mentioned.
"Right." Mavena, the red-haired woman, nodded.
Jin realized that this giant waste of time was them simply begging him to work for them. Maybe they saw how valuable he was, or maybe they were tired of him doing things on his own. But for some reason, he could tell that they needed him for something.
While he didn't know what they wanted him for, he had no interest in working for them and wouldn't budge.
"While you all argue about what to do next, I'll just be on my way." Jin broke out of the chains with ease and started walking out of the council room.
No one stopped him because no one expected someone to be so bold. They were stunned. But after the initial shock wore off, Sentinals stepped in front of Jin, blocking him from leaving the room.
"Jin Telegard, this matter is not something you can walk away from. All of Orthrys is at stake here, so you will cooperate." Brigida, the councilwoman with brown hair, spoke with a powerful voice.
'All of Orthrys? Why would only the country be at...ohhhhh! Hahahaha! I get it now!' Jin realized why they wanted him back.
"An arms race that might lead to a war." He blurted out.
All six councilwomen turned to Jin and stared at him.
"The other countries, they've gotten wind of the Láspinium, haven't they?"
He got no answer, so he knew that he was correct. And when he looked at Mrs Horton, she slowly nodded.
"We've had a spy in our ranks who alerted her home country. We've managed to eliminate her, but her message, along with a sample, was already sent." Mrs Horton informed him.
"And when was this sent?" He asked
"Last year."
His eyes widened. "So you simply want a way to deal with the Láspi so you can get more of the Láspinium to get ahead of another country in an arms race?"
"It's not just an arms race," Jerrica spoke up. "This Láspinium also has a lot of monetary value. If we are the ones who monopolize it, then our country will be richer than before."
'Every world is the same. Money this and money that. No one is satisfied with what they have.'
"So what you're saying is that you all jeopardized the safety of the world just for some cash, and you want me to fix your problem?" Jin couldn't believe the audacity of these people.
"We knew that you wouldn't respond to a summons, so we had to take drastic measures. But the threat of you being locked up is real if you do not comply." Atalana made sure to get that through Jin's head.
Jin, however, didn't take that seriously.
"And what if everything that I could potentially help you with fails?" He asked. After all, nothing is perfect, and the Láspi are great at adapting.
"We have a super weapon that can obliterate the entire asteroid belt if needed," Mavena informed him.
"A super weapon? If you have something like that, then why do you need me?"
"That is not for you to worry about."
Jin was going to decline, but then a thought crossed his mind. If he accepted, then he could uncover more about what happened to his mother and find out who was the one that ordered her death.
If there was one thing that he was going to do before dying in this life, it was to avenge his mother. He already took out the woman responsible for physically killing her, so now he needed to get the person who ordered the hit.
"Alright, I'll help. However, I have conditions." Jin spoke up.
"You seem to be mistaken. You are not in a position to make demands." Brigida chucked, looking at Jin as if he were crazy.
"Oh. Okay. Bye then." He walked away.
The Sentinals stood in his way once more, but he tossed them to the side with a flick of his wrist and pushed the doors open.
When he took another step, the step that would have taken him out of the Council Hall, he was right back in the middle of the hall.
"Roselyn Myr, a Transcendant with space control." Jin smiled. "Don't think that this is enough to keep me here."
"It's enough." She said coldly.
"Is it? If it is, then why aren't we in the council hall anymore?"
Roselyn didn't understand what Jin meant, but when she blinked, they were standing in the air above the building where they just were.
She had no idea how they ended up here, but she could tell that it was Jin's doing. Everyone knew that Jin was a super genius who had tech that could rival powers, but they didn't know that his tech was this advanced.
Little did they know he was using magic. His tech was this advanced, though.
"My conditions are that I continue to operate the way I have been before, you will not rush me or my work, and I get full access to your database. I will not take no for any of these as an answer. Goodbye." He vanished like mist.
