Thrusted into a world ruled by women

Chapter 156: The decision

The councilwomen from the Aegis Corps were sitting together around a circular table, each with chairs that could be mistaken for thrones. Their expressions were grim, and Brigida was tapping her finger on the table.

"Can you stop tapping your finger? The sound is annoying." Roselyn was already annoyed that Jin somehow managed to catch her off guard, and the sound was just making her more irritated.

"Don't take your anger out on me. This situation is new for all of us, and this helps me cope. So go mope somewhere else." Brigida was not gonna take shit from Roselyn

Mavena wasn't interested in the two of them bickering, so she started talking about the reason why they were in a private meeting.

"So what are we going to do? We desperately need Jin's help in this matter. He is the only one who is smart enough to help in the way we need. Jerrica, you're his grandmother, what do you think we should do?"

Jerrica sighed. She honestly didn't know what to do. Jin didn't trust her in the slightest, so her words to him meant nothing. He also didn't trust the Aegis Corps after learning about his mother and after being 'arrested' by them, so she honestly didn't know what to say or do.

"I don't know." She admitted. "My grandson and I haven't had a relationship in nine years. He tried to kill me when he saw me again for the first time, heh."

The other councilwomen didn't think that was something to laugh about.

"My blood ties to him mean nothing in his eyes, and I can't ask him for anything either. My hands are tied. I'm as much a stranger or outsider as any of you."

"Then we proceed with our original plan, then?" Atalana asked. "He has committed a lot of crimes that could place him in prison for life. Then, he would have no choice but to do as we say."

"Yeah, but what if he doesn't? Not even our telepath was able to go through his mind." Roselyn reminded them.

Brigida cracked her knuckles. "There are ways to get him to speak."

"Like that would work. Jin isn't weak like the rest of the male population. I'm sure all of you know this. We wouldn't be going through such measures just to get him to help us." Mavena leaned back in her chair, sighing.

"Then we give in to his demands?" Jerrica asked

Atalana slammed her hands on the table. "And let him go through our classified information? Absolutely not!"

"It wouldn't be the first time." Brigida chuckled.

"Yeah, but those weren't that big of a deal in the long run. We've monitored every time Jin has hacked into our systems. I hate to admit it, but he's really fucking good. Still, we've been able to prevent him from accessing anything in the black box. The Aegis Corps doesn't have a bright past, you know." Roselyn didn't want that information to get into his hands.

"What if we use his friends to force him to comply?" Brigida asked.

"Wouldn't that turn him against us even more? We're trying to get him to work with us, not drive him away." Mavana said.

"What? Drive him away even more than he is now? Mavena, Jin is as far as he can be from us. The only reason he's around the Corps is because of his friends and Aunt." Atalana spoke.

"A vote then?" Jerrica asked

Roselyn shrugged. "What would the vote contain?"

"A vote to allow Jin to access our database without any restrictions, or, well, not." Jerrica believed that these were the only two viable options, and everything else was just going too far.

"Okay, since you proposed this, what is your vote, Jerrica?" Atalana asked

"I vote to give him access." She said confidently.

"I vote to give him access as well," Mavena spoke up.

"I vote to lock him up." Roselyn didn't care that she was speaking from her emotions.

"I also vote to lock him up and force him to work with us." Brigida smiled.

"I vote to give him access." Atalana smiled. "But this doesn't include the black box. I hope we can all agree on that."

Mavena and Jerrica nodded, agreeing with her condition.

"Jerrica, you should tell him. Maybe this would help repair your relationship with him." Mavena smiled.

"I doubt that, but okay."

"Before we all go, let's get one thing clear. If Jin gets out of line, even once, then this whole deal is off the table, and we're bringing him in. No questions asked. We're trusting him with vital information, and he will be a threat to our security if he goes rogue." Roselyn's power was seeping through her body, telling everyone how serious she was.

"I'm okay with that." Brigida nodded.

"So am I." Atalana agreed.

Mavena and Jerrica agreed as well because it was the truth.

"Great. Nice meeting, everyone. See you all later."

---

Jin was making weapons in his lab when Anyssa told him that Jerrica was at the door and was looking for him.

"Tell her to go away. I'm busy."

"She said that the Council agreed to your demands."

Jin stopped working, putting his tools down to look at Anyssa.

"Hmmm."

He went upstairs and saw his grandmother standing on the porch.

"Jin." She nodded.

"Give me the data stick." He wasn't interested in making small talk.

Jerrica did as he asked, handing it over to him. She also explained what was talked about in the council and told him that he shouldn't go digging deeper than authorized.

Jin just closed the door on her without responding.

'Yes! Finally, I can get some answers about what happened that day!' A smile appeared on his face as he rushed back to his lab, plugging the data stick into his computer and telling his...computer to go over all of the information.

"It doesn't matter if it's encrypted or blocked. Go through every ounce of information the Aegis Corps has and give me everything related to the Women Enhancement Program."
