Thrusted into a world ruled by women

Chapter 160: The super weapon

[Moments before the destruction of the asteroid belt.]

The Aegis Corps had a meeting with the Council the moment they noticed the asteroids falling, heading toward the planet. Since they were now taking over this current operation regarding the Láspi, they had full control over every decision.

"Satellites have picked up images of the asteroids, and we have spotted people riding on them. They have to be the Láspi because not only are these people dead, but there are even multiple of them in these different shots." A woman spoke while presenting what she had found out about the space disturbance.

"Are these asteroids the ones that have the metal on them?" Mavena asked

"It appears to be so, yes." The woman nodded, pulling up an image of one of the asteroids having the metal on it.

"This is unfortunate, but also extremely fortunate," Atalana smirked

Mavena disagreed. "Explain."

"The Láspi are attacking the planet. This means that the security of our world is the most important thing right now. I'm sure the other countries would understand our need to blow up the asteroids."

Brigida, Roselyn, and Jerrica all took those words and thought on them for a bit. It was true that blowing up the asteroids would help them out in the long run, but it would also cost them a lot.

Their supply of the Láspinium was limited, and it wasn't enough to monopolize the arms market.

"They would try to come after the little we have." Jerrica pointed out.

"That's true, but at that point, we don't have to share an entire space worth of this Láspinium. Dealing with the other countries trying to steal the little that we have is better than trying to get ahead of them in weapons production when everyone has access to a whole quarry of metal."

Again, Atalana was correct, but then something she said made Roselyn's ears perk up.

"Wait, you mean you want to destroy the entire asteroid belt?"

"That's correct." Atalana smiled.

Mavena slammed her hands on the table. "That's insane!"

"So is an alien invasion and other countries trying to get their hands on this world-changing metal! Be honest with yourselves? Is this really worth it? Maybe before we knew that these creatures were trying to invade our world. But now, it's not even worth risking our safety for."

"I agree," Jerrica spoke up.

"When you put it like that, I agree as well." Brigida voiced.

Mavena sighed. "I'm assuming you want to use the Dimensional Slicer?"

"Correct. It's our most powerful weapon and can easily wipe out the asteroid belt with one blast. The clock is ticking, people. Make your choice quickly."

After a few more seconds of thinking, everyone voted to use the Dimensional Slicer.

"Send an alert to all Aegis Corps members and tell them what's going on. We need everyone on standby."

---

Jin watched in horror as the asteroid belt was cleanly vaporized from existence, well, one part of it at least. He knew the Aegis Corps had a super weapon, but not like this. A lot of the information was hidden, and the only thing he learned was that it was built to end a war some time ago.

What horrified him was the fact that they were casually weaponizing space. While that might seem weird to hear, it wasn't that difficult to understand. The weapon itself didn't shoot a beam of space or anything like that.

What the weapon did was shoot a beam of supercharged particles that instantly compressed when it came in contact with the outside world. It was so compressed and condensed that it made the space around itself warp, but it wasn't visible to the naked eye, though its gravity was intense.

However, the moment the beam touched a solid object, space would fold in on itself, but since it was already doing that inside the beam, it would refold back to normal, causing a ripple effect that then just erased anything in its vicinity.

But things only got worse. Because the weapon was so powerful, it needed time to charge up. This meant that the weapon couldn't fire multiple times in a row, and the Láspi was counting on this.

The asteroid belt was just that, a belt. This meant that it wrapped around the entire orbit of the inner planets. This also meant that there was more than one location where the Láspi could be.

From the opposite side of where Jin was, the Láspi started their assault, their real assault. There were millions of asteroids in the asteroid belt, and Jin sensed millions of Láspi appearing on each of them.

"They've managed to hide their mana trace already?" Jin was super confident that the Láspi had someone helping them out because they were never this coordinated in his previous life.

While they were able to become smart, really smart, they always had a dumb side to them. That dumb side was their constant death for evolution. Why would you need to be organized when you can just evolve and get stronger?

But this time, things were different.

"Once I find out who's behind this, I'll pay them a fucking visit!" Jin powered up to the maximum, his mana looking like a second sun.

"Jess, how is the barrier coming along?"

[Yeah, that shit is not even 50 percent done. You're on your own on this one.]

"Figures. Activate protocol space cloud."

[You got it!]

Jin's satellites in space opened, pouring out metallic drones the size of a basketball. There were hundreds of thousands of them, and they all formed a giant net around the planet to prevent anything from getting past.

Then, more drones poured out of the satellites and aimed their weapons toward the other side of the asteroid belt.

"Eta until these asteroids hit the planet?"

[From the distance that they are at, ten minutes.]

"What are the chances that the net we have can stop this asteroid shower?"

[Like, 5 percent or something like that. The data changes if the Láspi don't attack, barely attack, or go crazy with attacks.]

"Fuck. This is going to be the longest ten minutes of my life." Jin attacked the horde of Láspi coming his way.
