While Roselyn and Brigida were going to arrest Jin, Mavena and Atalana went to speak with Holly and Polybotea to negotiate about the Láspi. Jerrica went to her home and headed straight to her office.

There, she had a picture of the whole family, back when times were simpler. She looked at the photo, smiled, then set it back down.

She was very sad that times were different now and that her grandson hated her, but it was for the best.

Jin having powers wasn't the only reason why she cut him out of her life and only watched him from afar. There was another reason behind that choice she made.

Walking over to a large screen on the wall of her office, she tapped it to turn it on. When it booted up, she input a password to log in, then selected a file.

When the file opened, a whole investigation board appeared. It had people, names, areas, and the things that the people did. When she connected people and organizations together, she found something, and that something was the Sons of Adam.

She knew of their existence before they did the crazy things last year, and while she wanted to stop them, her investigation led her to something else, something bigger.

Jerrica didn't know who was in charge, who the members were, or what this organization was doing. But, she did get a name. Edens Garden.

Ally Agaard, the head scientist of the Women's Evolution Program, was a key member in Eden's Garden, but over the course of two decades, she didn't crack one bit under pressure and is still being questioned to this day.

It was she who learned that there was something special about Jessa's blood because Jerrica had Jessa's body tested by Ally to see if there would be something wrong with Jin caused by the experiments Jessa went through.

At first, they didn't believe her, and when Jin was born, he was tested, and it turned out that there was nothing special about him. However, Jerrica then learned that there was indeed something special about Jin after he lost his parents and went through all that trauma.

She went back to Ally to ask why Jin's blood would be special, and Ally laughed, giving her one piece of information.

The Women Enhancement Program wasn't only to enhance women, but it was to enhance their offspring, specifically males, and give them powers.

Thankfully, Jerrica didn't inform her that Jin did have powers, and even if she did, she removed the powers from his body.

After that, she knew that she had to find out what went on behind the scenes, and to do that, she couldn't risk Jin being in danger, so she cut him off.

"Forgiveness can come later. I have to figure out who's behind this organization." She continued looking over the information she had.

Mavena, Atalana, Mrs Horton, and Miss Lockman had a meeting with Holly and Polybotea, telling them that they're working on a compromise together.

Negotiations weren't going too well, but they all understood the gravity of the situation. They were already given the Láspinium, so they honestly couldn't push too much because they technically had what they wanted.

Still, they wanted, or needed, the Láspi to make things even, and war was a good enough threat to have the Aegis Corps comply.

"And what of Jin? Did he agree to this?" Holly asked

"No, but he should see the importance of this national trade, hopefully." Mavena sighed.

"What the heck?" Miss Lockman suddenly got an alert on her datapad, telling her that the containment cages the Láspi were in were now failing.

"What's wrong?" Mrs Horton asked

"The—" She paused, not knowing if she should say this out loud. So she whispered it in Mrs Horton's ear.

"That's not good. We have a situation." Mrs Horton deemed it necessary to speak up, regardless of the implications it could have. If two representatives were killed, that was an instant war regardless of the circumstances.

"What's wrong?" Mavena asked

"The prisons we have the Láspi in are losing power. They're breaking free as we speak."

Polybotea's eyes brightened. "Take me there!"

"Absolutely not. You don't have the stimulant, and if you die, then that will be bad for us. Miss Lockman, is there camera footage of the lab?"

"Yes, here." She handed Mavena the tablet.

"You may watch from here. We will handle things on your end. However, if you get yourself killed while we already told you to stay put, then we won't hesitate to attack your countries if your leaders declare war."

"More power!"

"Use everything you got!"

"Keep going!"

In the lab, all of the people there, scientists, security, and assistants, were doing everything they could to keep the prison from powering down.

Their lightning and electric powers were doing the trick, but eventually, they would run out of steam, and the amount of power it took to keep the prison charged was pretty massive.

"I-I can't keep up!" An assistant said, nearly exhausted from their own power. She was sweating like crazy and breathing heavily.

"Keep going until you pass out! We need to keep this prison charged until we can find out what's going on!"

"We keep losing power to the prison! It's as if something is draining the energy!"

"FIGURE IT OUT OR WE'LL FUCKING DIE!"

'Freedom!' The Láspi spoke in all of their heads.

The women in the lab froze from fear, their powers still electrifying the prison.

'Give up. We are stronger!'

"Don't listen to that creature! Keep pushing yourselves!"

'We can feel your power weakening. It's only a matter of time.'

"Hold! I said Hold goddammit!"

The glass started to crack. It was a small crack at first, but then the crack grew larger and larger.

"N-No! No, no, no, no, no, no! Everyone, evacuate, NOW!"

Quickly, half of the scientists and assistants managed to escape by using the teleporter, but when the other half were about to escape, the glass shattered, and the Láspi broke free, merging into one.
