Angela's mother walked toward the door, but she was stopped by her daughter.

"What are you doing? If you aren't expecting anyone, don't open the fucking door! That's dangerous."

But just as her mother was about to speak, a voice came from behind the door.

"Open up! We have gotten a report that Angela Silverstone is in this house! If you do not comply within the next five minutes, we will bust down this door."

A frown appeared on Angela's face. "How did they know I was here?"

"I told them!" Casper shouted while walking down the stairs.

"You did what?! Are you out of your mind?!" Her parents were furious with Casper to the point where his mom grabbed him by the throat and lifted him up.

"Do you want to get us killed? We will be seen as aiding a criminal, and we will face punishment, you stupid bastard!"

Casper never thought of that and couldn't think of anything to say.

"Whatever." Angela grabbed her brother, threw him into a chair, and froze his body up to his neck. Then she did the same with her parents and waited.

"If you do not open in the next ten seconds, we will bust this door down!"

"Go ahead, you pigs!"

"GO! GO! GO!" The door was split in half, and military soldiers entered the house, surrounding Angela as she was sitting down.

"Sup." She waved at them.

"Stand up and put your hands behind your back. You will be taken to prison for the murder of Aegis Corps Agents as well as aiding and abetting Jin Telegard, a wanted criminal."

"Ah, sorry, man. I'm going to have to decline because I have a thing in a few hours. Do you think we can reschedule for tomorrow?"

The military officer looked at her watch. "Yeah. Tomorrow at noon sounds good for you?"

Angela looked at her watch as well. "Yeah. That's perfect, actually."

"Great! You're free to go."

"Thanks." Upon getting up to leave, Angela dodged a stun blaster bolt that was meant to take her out.

"That's not nice." She smirked

"Really? I wasn't trying to be."

A fight broke out between the military officers and Anegla.

She created a trail of ice to slide away, but it was destroyed at the base, causing her to lose her footing. Fortunately, she could stand on the air, so she was fine and didn't fall.

"Surrender now!"

"Suck my nonexistent dick, you stupid bitch!" Angela rained down a torrent of ice that could freeze a whole city block. She had no interest in prolonging this battle, so she attempted to end it very quickly.

However, her ice started to melt, and then it evaporated.

"Don't tell me that's all you got, little girl?" The military woman was now a walking fireball, slowly floating in the air to confront Angela.

"Wow. You look pretty cool. But I'm gonna have to ask you to...chill out for a bit." She stopped all of the oxygen particles from moving, instantly turning off the woman's powers, and made her fall to the ground.

"Arghh! After her!"

Angela ran. She wasn't scared to fight them, but she didn't want to make a bigger scene than she already was. That meant more and more people would come after her, which would then make it harder to escape.

She flew past buildings, avoiding flying cars and pedestrians. Some military officers caught up with her, shooting weapons or powers at her, but she dodged them all and froze their bodies.

More and more military officers closed in on her, so she let out the big guns.

"I didn't want to use this, but you've left me no choice." She created a magic circle, something she picked up on from Jin, and made it in the form of a snowflake.

Suddenly, the temperature dropped, and snow began to fall. Machinery stalled, people started to freeze from the cold, and some powers weren't functional in the extreme cold.

But the real attack wasn't the temperature drop; it was the snowflakes. The moment they touched something, a pillar of ice was created, freezing whatever it touched frozen solid.

She watched as dozens of officers suddenly became ice pillars in an instant and smiled.

"Magic is so cool."

Addison was waiting to meet up with Angela when she noticed the increased surveillance all around the city. It was hard to keep out of sight, and she had to work extra carefully not to get caught.

"Hey, phew, I'm here. Did you miss me?" Angela asked.

"What took you so long?"

"Funny story, actually. My fucking brother called the cops on me, and the fucking military showed up. I had to fight them off."

Addison shook her head. "Why did you even visit them in the first place?"

"I don't know, okay? Sometimes, children want to be on good terms with their family."

"Well, that's super unfortunate for you, but fuck your family, no offense. You could have put yourself in jeopardy and gotten locked up, which would have made Jin have to go out of his way to rescue you!"

Angela rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I'll be careful next time. Nngh." Angela suddenly felt nauseated and learned over in case she needed to puke.

"You okay?" Addison asked

"Y-Yeah, I think so. One of those guys I fought used poison on me, and I was hit by it. I healed the wound, but I'm guessing that I didn't heal it well enough."

Addison looked at the wound and tried to heal it herself. Since she was better with magic, she was confident she could heal better than Angela, and she was correct.

"If you're still feeling uncomfortable, then talk to Jin. The poison entered your bloodstream, so a more powerful healing spell might be needed if you're still affected by it."

"Sounds good. Oh yeah, did you see those checkpoints all over the city?" Angela asked

"Yeah, I knew about the checkpoints."

"No, the new ones. I saw some on my way here. They are extremely high-tech and are run by joint military and Aegis Corps officers. There's also a decent-sized outpost next to each of them."

"Let's go back home and tell Jin about this."
