Walking with cuffs around Jin's hands was something he never expected to expierence again. This wasn't the first time he had been locked up in his many lifetimes, but he hoped this life would be the last. But it seemed that hope didn't care about his feelings.
"Wooo, look at that fine specimen!"
"Why don't you have him bunk with me?"
"Send him here. I'll take care of him."
Seeing someone as handsome as Jin being locked up made the women go crazy, wanting him in their cell so they could...enjoy a moment with him.
"Quiet down, all of you!" A guard banged on the cells to shut the prisoners up.
"Am I going to be locked up in this section?" Jin wondered, asking the woman who directed him to his cell.
"No. You will be going where the worst of the worst are taken. It's the most secure place in this prison, and it's permanent solitary confinement."
"Hmm." Just by those words alone, Jin understood that they were trying to break him mentally. But that wasn't all. Her words told Jin that the President had no plans to give him up to the other countries.
That made sense, honestly. He was an asset that the country could profit from, a gold mine. It would be crazy to give him over to their enemies. However, Jin had to think of a different way to 'turn' himself over to the other countries to see if he could locate Eve.
As he was thinking about another plan, the woman led Jin to an elevator. "Get in."
She felt the urge to push him, but after what happened to the other woman who tried to get rough with him, she pushed that thought to the back of her mind.
Jin stepped inside the elevator, and the woman stepped inside after him. She clicked on a red button that was at the bottom-most row of the elevator buttons, and the doors shut instantly.
Silence rang in their ears as they headed to the lower levels. No one cared to speak, and Jin was too busy thinking about ideas to even attempt to form a conversation.
He was so deep in his thoughts that he didn't even realize that the five minute elevaor ride to the lowest level was already over and he was being ordered to leave.
Stepping out of the elevator gave Jin a weird sensation. Normally, the prisons were the typical grey, black, or blue color with signs of neglect all over the place. But on this level, that was the exact opposite.
The whole place, even the lights, was white. Everywhere you looked was so clean and polished that it wouldn't be wrong to assume this level was built not too long ago, and even then, it was still too clean to be used.
This told Jin that there was constant maintenance in this place, and it was very important to the government.
"What's this place, Area 51?"
"That's nothing but a myth. This place is Location 6-7."
"I see." It was obvious that this place was a prison since Jin saw people walking around in white prison uniforms; however, he already made the connection between their gloomy faces and the white facility that this place was also a laboratory.
Extending his mana around the place gave Jin images of multiple people losing their minds in their cells, suffering through tons of pain from experiments, and wishing to die so they could finally be at peace.
"This won't break me. I've suffered worse." Jin spoke outloud.
The woman directing him to his cells looked down at him, her height being above his own.
"We'll see. The toughest and most powerful of espers said the same thing." She slowly waved her arm, telling Jin to look around. "Yet they all turned into this after being here for a few months. But after years, they become nothing but vegetables."
For the remainder of their walk, Jin kept quiet and eventually made it to his cell.
"Get dressed and await further instructions. Someone will be coming to pick you up. If you cause trouble, then the security system will hurt you, and guards will be here within ten seconds."
He nodded, then stepped into his cell.
There was a white bed with a change of clothes on it, and nothing else in the room besides the beaming light on the ceiling. After getting dressed, Jin lay on the bed and waited to be called.
He didn't care to look around or wonder what was going on here because he wasn't interested.
"Jess, can you hear me?"
[Loud and clear!]
Jin smirked. When he turned himself in, he took off his power kit so it wouldn't be taken. However, he had a power kit in his body, one that the government didn't find when they scanned him for booking.
"Go ahead and scan the place whenever you wish. I'll be sleeping."
[Okay.]
But he wasn't able to get that much rest as a scientist walked into his cell ten minutes after he rested his head, followed by two guards.
"Jin Telegard, the world is going crazy about you right now." She smiled, walking inside while doing something on her holographic data pad.
"What can I say? I'm just that handsome."
"Lose the sense of humor, it won't save you here."
"I already know that, after all, I'm here because of my looks, not my jokes."
She knew what he was implying. He was saying that his looks would save him, and she had to admit that it was clever because he was indeed handsome.
"Get up and follow me."
Jin did as she said without causing any trouble.
It was great that the people in this world couldn't see or sense mana, because the moment the woman turned around, Jin injected his mana into her body, which would allow him to control her to some degree whenever he wanted.
With the two guards watching his every move from behind, Jin followed the scientist to a room where tons of science equipment were organized on tables, shelves, and walls.
"Come." She ordered him. "Sit."
Jin sat on an operating table, and the woman went to draw his blood. He had to weaken the spot where she wanted to take it so the needle wouldn't break. He also removed any nanites from the blood sample.
"Testing my DNA?" He asked
"Of course. A man born with powers is not something you see every day. No, this is something you don't see at all. How does it feel to be the first man in history to have powers?"
"Lady, I don't even have that gene activated at the moment."
