Jerrica, Lacena, and Jessa spent the entire year training so hard that they could barely feel their bodies. Jin had put them through a training regimen that they had never experienced before, and it worked them to the core.
During this time, Jin meditated to recover from his injuries, feeling the weight of the world crashing into his body. Since he wasn't in his old body, he wasn't able to negate the effects of what he had experienced, divine tribulation.
Only gods are able to interfere with the natural order of things. Of course, Jin managed to bypass a lot of those natural orders, such as creating a fixed point, but even then, he could still get punished later.
One of the main reasons why Jin was in this room in the first place was to avoid the divine tribulation by getting stronger. He planned on becoming whole again, getting his powers back, then comprehending the Laws of the Universe so he could actually fight against Eve and whatever she had planned.
"Jin, sweetie." Jerrica slightly tapped his shoulder.
"Hmm? Mother?"
"A year has passed, it's time to leave."
Jin sensed her power, and he was impressed. She felt as if she had been a 10th circle mage for decades. It wasn't just her either; Jerrica and Lacena were just as impressive.
They knew how to mask their mana, use it like a master, cast multiple spells, and enhance their powers with mana.
"Good. Send in the next three. I don't care who it is, as long as it's NOT Angela."
"Fufu, look at him, protecting his woman because she's pregnant." Jessa poked Jin's face.
"Not now, Mom."
"Okay, okay. We'll be leaving now."
Lacena placed her hand on Jin's shoulder. "Thank you for not giving up on me."
"Don't make me regret it."
"Heh, I promise that you wont."
Jerrica did something Jin never expected: she hugged him. Tears welled up in her eyes, and her emotions got the best of her.
"My lovely grandson, thank you for everything. Please don't put too much of this burden on your shoulders. We're here to help you now."
Jin loved the affection she was showing him, but he had only wished she had shown it to him a few years earlier. Still, he accepted her attempt at reconciliation.
"Thank you, Grandma."
The three of them left, and the next three came in. Anyssa, Oculia, and Brittany.
"Angela is upset with you." Brittany laughed out loud.
Jin smiled. "She'll be fine. Is everything okay out there?"
"Yeah, but the armies of the other nations are going to be touching land soon."
"The border fleet was destroyed?"
Brittany nodded.
"I see. Well, let's get to work."
---
"Hold the line!"
"Don't let them pass!"
"Keep firing!"
"We can't let them touch our borders!"
The military force of Ouranos and Tartarus overwhelmed Othrys, pushing past their naval and aerial defences, and continued to make their way toward land.
Even if Jin had never wiped out a large portion of the Aegis Corps, including their top Espers, Othrys would have still been pushed back by the sheer number of troops invading their land.
"We need reinforcements! The enemy line is too strong!"
"Reinforcements aren't arriving until three hours from now!"
"Hurry up and set up the extra border defences, we need to—Arghh!" An energy bullet pierced her head.
Blood painted the shandy shore, explosions rang in the ears of the soldiers, and metal from the aircraft fell from the sky like rain. It was a gruesome expierence, one that no one should have to go through.
"Hahahaha! We're nearly there!" An Ouranos high-ranking soldier cheered with glee. She couldn't wait to set foot into the country and start laying waste to it.
"You Othrys bugs are going to die soon!"
More and more Othrys troops died while Ouranos and Tartarus continued to push forward.
During all of this, President Zafina was on a call with Queen Nindala and Prime Minister Molanda.
"This had nothing to do with me! You are killing innocent people!" Zafaina said while slamming her fists into the ground.
"Really? Then why were our women attacked and killed? Why did Jin attack our land? Explain that, Madam President."
Zafina knew that she had no way of telling the truth without outing herself in the process, so her argument about not being involved with Jin's rampage crumbled without even being able to be built up.
"Listen to me, there is another player out there, making us all go to war to claim something that they want. Think about it. What would I gain from letting Jin escape? From letting him destroy ONE facility that wasn't even important? To send a message? I can do that without him."
Zafina's words had some truth to them, but that wasn't enough. They needed proof, physical proof, not speculation.
"And why do you believe that there is a third party? Did you have something to do with the transport going wrong?" Queen Nindala asked
"No! But I didn't order Jin to do anything. Have you seen the news in my country? Jin is a wanted criminal who has been terrorizing the citizens for months! He's powerful enough to destroy the strongest branch of the Aegis corps, the main branch, so it's not surprising that he escaped!"
This time, her words really made the two world leaders think hard about the situation, but the moment they considered Zafina's words, something inside their minds forced them to throw that out of the window.
"That means nothing. We will continue this war and burn your country to the ground." Prime Minister Molanda hung up, followed by Queen Nindala.
"Dammit!" Zafina was in need of new desks as she kept breaking them with each fist slam.
"What shall we do now, Madam President?"
Zafina thought about her options. She could stay here in the comfort of her office, or she could go out there and fight alongside her women, potentially pushing back the attacking army.
"Take me to the battlefield, I'll deal with this army myself." She took a step forward, and her clothes instantly shifted into battle gear.
"Understood."
