"What?!" Jin stood up too quickly, then his head started to spin, and he fell back onto the couch. The aftereffects of Divine Tribulation, even if it wasn't as strong as it normally was since he was in a pocket dimension, were still taking a toll on his body.
"Jin!" Jessa rushed over to his side.
"I'm okay. I'm okay. You're telling me that every single person who is killed turns into a Soul-Husk?"
"From my observation, yes. This even extends to the citizens who were killed in the crossfire."
Jin's head leaned back, and he sighed deeply. Things were not going the way he expected.
"Listen, Eve is stealing the souls of people for something. I don't know what it is, but STAY HERE! I may be able to manipulate souls to a certain degree, but in my current state, I wouldn't be able to help too much if you get hurt."
The color returned to Jin's face, and he felt rejuvenated. During this short time, he was rapidly absorbing the mana from the surroundings. Still, it wasn't enough to take in the next batch of people, so he was going to wait until he was fully recharged.
"I'm going to take a nap. I'll be back in three hours. Yuria, stay here, I'll make you stronger as well."
"I'll come with you." Angela helped Jin to his room and went to sleep with him, resting his head between her chest.
In the meantime, everyone else did their own thing aound the mansion, and Yuria told her people that she was handling importing business and wouldn't be back for a long while.
---
Addison was in her room, meditating and circulating mana around her body. Prior to the time chamber, she was the strongest when it came to mana, and she wanted it to stay that way.
She wanted to be of help to Jin and didn't want to hold him back. She lost her powers against the Sons of Adam, wasn't able to help at all against the Láspi, and now, she was too weak to do anything against Eve.
"Even Jin was beaten badly by her, but I won't allow him to fight alone anymore." She clenched her fists, strengthening her resolve.
After a bit, her phone started to ring, and she saw that it was her older sister, Alicia, calling.
"Hey, sis. Is everything alright?" She planned on checking in on her family after Jin made her stronger, but since her sister called now, she was happily going to answer.
"Addison! We're pinned down! Hundreds of troops are surrounding the house, multiple transcendents! Don't come here, but I just wanted to let you know that Father, Dinny, and Don have taken the escape routes and are in the safe house underneath the family company."
"What?! I'm coming! Just hold them off as long as you can!"
"No! Stay there! Don't risk your life, little sister. We love you!" Alicia hung up
"No! No! No! No! No!" Addison got up, opened the window in her room, and then took off into the skies without alerting anyone that she left.
However, the house security system did pick up her leaving and sent an alert to Jin, but since he was sleeping, he didn't receive it.
On the outside, Addison saw how catastrophic the war was. Cities were on fire, the sky was covered in smoke, and many screams filled the air.
The horrific sight made Addison's stomach churn, but she quickly came back to her senses and continued to fly toward her home.
"Where are you going, little girl?!" An enemy woman flew in front of Addison and went in for the attack.
"Get out of my way!" Addison wasted no time on the woman, increasing her strength with mana to fly straight through the woman's body.
She didn't care that she had just killed her, as the only thing she cared about was reaching her family and making sure they were safe.
More and more enemy troops stood in her way, but each time, Addison pushed past them and racked up her body count.
Eventually, she arrived at her home and saw it surrounded by hundreds of enemy troops.
Parts of her home were destroyed, and the energy barrier was cut off from one section to strengthen it in another section. Security weapons fired at the enemy army, but they weren't doing that much damage.
In fact, the army managed to destroy most of the security weapons, even the ones inside the barrier.
"Keep firing! That shield will break eventually. I've already injured that powerful bitch, so taking out her two kids wont be an issue after that." A woman smirked sinisterly.
"No, you don't!" Addison once more increases her power by using mana, but this time, she drew a magic circle onto her hand, then projected that circle into the air. The circle glowed with an intense orange light, blinding the enemy troops, and a huge sword made of pure flaming energy struck the troops, killing ninety percent of them in one go.
"And what do we have here?" The woman who smirked sinisterly appeared behind Addison, unharmed by her attack.
Addison didn't even turn around; instead, she turned her body into pure energy, and her face, arms, legs, everything, appeared on her back as she punched the woman in the face, her body then spinning around to fully make her face behind her.
It looked as if she had another body on her back, but now she looked normal.
"You punch like a bitch!" The woman shot up faster than Addison expected, grabbing her by the throat and head-butting her into the barrier around her house.
"Arghhhhh!" She was shocked by the shield, which had an anti-power effect that caused her pain.
"Haha, don't give up now!" The woman stomped on the ground, and Addison rolled away to avoid the powerful foot.
She got up, tripped the woman, and kicked her so hard that the sound barrier broke in an instant. She then teleported behind the woman and prepared to deliver a powerful energy attack, but the woman spun around in mid-air and impaled Angela's chest with her arm.
"What? Surprised? Don't worry, I'll make your death as painful as possible!"
