"You okay, Addison?" Jin asked, rubbing her back as they rode on the back of the phoenix.

"Y-Yeah. I just wasn't expecting exploding heads to be on the menu today." She groaned.

"It's okay, you'll get used to it." He reassured her.

Addison didn't know if she was thankful for Jin's reassurance or scared at the fact that he said she would get used to the sight of exploding heads.

"How many heads have you seen explode?" She wanted to know. Because this wasn't a normal thing to get used to. Blood, sure. Broken bones, sure. Mutilation, maybe. But exploding heads? Nope.

"I simply mean you'll get used to the blood and gore. Trust me. I saw my parents die in front of my eyes. Blood, guts, and everything. When you're traumatized once, you're traumatized forever. It doesn't go away, just gets better or worse depending on your situation." Jin looked a bit grim.

"What are you?" Addison asked. "Because it looks like it didn't affect you."

"I manage." Jin smiled. "I try not to let it affect me."

It was true that Jin was traumatized from his first time experiencing death. He recalled the first time his friend, his best friend, was killed. It was an expierence he would never forget, nor would he recover from.

To this day, hundreds of reincarnations later, Jin still has dreams about the night when he held his best friend in his arms as she died, murdered because of his own actions. Jin found being reincarnated into another world as a game, until he saw that the life he was living was reality.

"I'm sorry, Jin." Addison hugged him and kissed his cheek.

This time, Angela didn't get upset or jealous. She simply let it happen.

"Squakkkkk!!!" The phoenix screeched.

"Looks like we're here." Jin stood up and saw a whole encampment full of people who were breeding Flame birds in order to create a deviant.

"What the fuck is going on down there?" Angela tried to call this in, but the radio signals were still jammed.

"A breeding camp," Jin muttered. "I'm guessing this big guy here wants us to liberate it to free its kin."

"Poor birds." Addison rubbed the phoenix. "I didn't know monsters could be kind."

"Animals that are normally friendly stay friendly regardless of their evolution," Jin informed them.

"Let's go down there and kick their butts!" Angela was about to hop off the bird, but Jin pulled her back before she could.

"Hold on, don't be rash. Let's use this time to see what's going on." Jin grabbed Angela around the waist and hopped off the bird. But instead of attacking, he stayed hovering in the air and tuned in on the camp to hear conversations.

"Hey, there was this fine man I saw at the bar last night, so I walked over to him and offered him a drink." A woman was telling her friend

"Oh shit, did he accept?" The other woman asked.

"Yup. He even got me a drink as a thank you. After a few hours of chatting, we went back to my place, and let me tell you, I drained all the semen out of his balls. I'm talking, he was a husk when we woke up the next day."

"Nice! Did you get his number?"

"Hell yeah, you think I'm crazy? That was the best sex I had in a while!"

Jin tuned in to another conversation.

"Do you seriously think we can breed a phoenix? I mean, sure, we managed to breed a lot of flame birds, but breeding a deviant is way harder than breeding a flame bird, and flame birds are already hard enough to breed." A man asked his companion.

"Hey, man, I don't ask questions, I just do as I'm told. The Speaker says that he needs the power of a phoenix to help in his omega project, so we will continue to work until we breed them. Now stop slacking."

'Omega project?' Jin made sure to note that down.

"Can we attack now?" Angela asked.

"No, hold on." Jin tuned into another conversation to see if he could get more information.

"Have you gotten any word from Karlreena and Karlander? It's been a bit since they left." A woman asked.

"Well, they are in charge of overseeing this entire project, so they are probably handling our affairs in the other location, the one we were preparing to turn into a breeding camp." A man responded

'Is he referring to the place we were just at?' Jin wondered.

"I also heard that there was a disturbance in the area. What do you think it could be?"

"I don't know. Maybe the local wildlife is attacking them or something?"

"But we set up power-dampening barriers to prevent that. Do you think we were found out?"

"Nah. The Aegis Corps doesn't even know of this location yet. Stop worrying too much. Tell you what, after we breed a phoenix, I'll take you out to dinner. Golden Boar, it's the restaurant that The Speaker frequents. He said it's amazing!" The woman smiled

"F-Fine."

'The Golden Boar. I'll jot that down as well.'

"Okay, now it's time for some action!"

"Yes, finally! I was dying from boredom!"

With a slight chuckle, Jin dropped Angela like a bomb, watching as her entire body turned blue as she cooled her body down to the point of having ice skin.

Addison followed her, turning into pure energy.

"Don't worry, sir or lady phoenix, we'll rescue your family. Just sit tight."

"Sqwakkk!"

"I agree. Poachers and illegal breeders are lame as fuck." Jin's gauntlet started morphing into an extremely high-tech cannon that continued to add layer after layer of energy projection laser cannons.

It got to the point where his entire arm looked like the arm of an android, with the amount of energy cannons that materialized onto his arm.

"Computer, lock on." His arm cannon started to hum with energy.

[Locking on....162 targets selected.]

Jin smiled. "Bang." The cannon fired exactly 162 energy beams that rained onto the camp like divine punishment as they blasted through the bodies of their targets, vaporizing them instantly.
