"Wow, Jin, it's nice to see you again! I've tried to contact you, but you never answered my texts." The last time Yuria and Jin saw each other was before the destruction of Olympus. Thanks to Angela, they both knew the other survived, but seeing each other for the first time in a few weeks was a nice feeling.

"Really?" Jin gave her a hug as it was nice to see her as well. "I've been super busy recently, so I haven't really checked my phone in a while."

When Jin pulled out his phone to take a look at it, he saw 15 missed calls from her.

"Heh, my bad."

"It's okay. I'm just glad you're doing well."

"Uhh, Jin, who's this?" Brittany asked, grabbing Jin's hand. She was slightly territorial, even if she didn't realize it.

"This is Yuria Qutesh. She's the officer I worked with while I was still in the institute. Yuria, this is Brittany, my—"

"Girlfriend." Brittany finished for him. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Yuria."

'What's her deal?' He wondered.

"It's nice to meet you, too." They shook hands.

Yuria then turned to the woman who started causing problems for the people, pulling out some power-dampening cuffs. "Anyway, I'll be taking that lady off your hands. Thanks for stopping her, Jin."

"Knock yourself out. I was on my way to grab some lunch with Brittany. I'll keep in touch. See ya."

"Bye."

After leaving the scene, Jin and Brittany went to grab something to eat, then she went to work, and Jin went back to his apartment.

"Are you ready?" Addison asked Jin, getting dressed for the event.

"Yeah. I wonder how the Sons of Adam plan on stealing the endoskeleton in front of thousands of people." Jin theorized that in order to make everything on the cult's part go smoothly, they would probably impersonate guards or staff members to gain easy access to the building.

A second group of people would then break into the event, attempting to steal the endoskeleton, but fail on purpose. After hauling the endoskeleton back to its secured area, the impersonators would then steal it quickly and quietly.

This made the most sense to Jin. Still, he didn't rule out the Sons of Adam simply barging into the event and attempting to steal it.

"Let's go."

Jin and Addison arrived at the event rather quickly; the two of them could fly pretty fast. Angela wasn't able to make it today since she had something to do with her family.

She tried to ignore them, but her mother called Mrs Horton, so she was forced to go back home.

"I'm going to look around the area. You go inside and see if you spot anyone or anything suspicious."

Addison nodded, then went inside the building.

Extending his senses to cover the entire city block, Jin looked around to spot any suspicious activity.

There was one thing that caught his attention: a white van that someone would normally see used in heists, robberies, or even kidnappings. But when the door opened, it was just some workers delivering teddy bears for the local kids' store. The holiday season was coming up.

Looking around some more, he spotted multiple individuals on rooftops, all of them equipped with high-tech equipment.

"Looks like the Aegis Corps is taking this matter seriously as well." Jin chuckled. He clicked a button on his earpiece and connected to the communication channel.

"Spying on me again, Oculia?"

"Just keeping an EYE out on things." She chuckled back at him.

"Really? The eye joke?"

"What? I have every eye superpower you can think of. It fits."

"Sure, sure. Have you spotted anything out of the ordinary?"

"I don't think I'm allowed to tell a suspended operative that kind of information."

That was fair. But Jin also knew that what she said was a fancy way of saying no.

"Alright. I'll let you go back to being a super spy." Jin did one last look around, not noticing anything, then went inside the building, finding Addison waiting for him.

"Anything?" She asked

"Nope. The Aegis Corps is stationed all around the area, though."

Addison already figured that out. When she entered the building, there were tons of Operatives and Strikers in the building.

"Look around." She said to Jin.

"Damn. They even have Strikers here? They must really be taking this seriously." Strikers were members of the Aegis Corps who took on extremely dangerous missions revolving around dangerous individuals, crime lords, dictators, and, in this situation, crazy cults.

They were basically the assassination squad of the Aegis Corps.

"There goes Carlnitus." Jin spotted the boss man. "The event is about to start."

"Gentlemen and Ladies, welcome to the evolution of womankind! Today, I will show you what I have envisioned for our future for the past decade."

The crowd cheered, excited to see what Carlnitus was going to show off. Lights dimmed, and a holoscreen appeared.

"This, my friends, is the future." He showed off the image of a normal man. "Now, I know most of you might be confused. You're thinking to yourself, 'Isn't that just a normal guy?'. And my answer to you is, Yes! It is, but only on the outside."

He swiped his hands, and the image moved as well, showing the skeleton of the man.

"You see, this is the normal skeleton we have in the human body, but this," He swiped his hands again. "Is what I have planned for the future of womankind. This endoskeleton will revolutionize the way our society operates!"

Tons of 'Ooos, and Ahhhs' echoed through the crowd.

"Take a woman, for example. Regardless of the power they have, whether it be enhanced smelling or the ability to make your pillow cold no matter the temperature of your house, they can lift, casually, a thousand pounds. This is without working out. Now, take a woman who has enhanced strength. She would lift hundreds of thousands of pounds with ease!"

All the men in the building glanced at the closest woman next to them, really taking in the difference between their biology.

"But today, everything changes! After studying women for over a decade, cross-referencing my data with brilliant minds before me, I have finally been able to create an endoskeleton that will make men on the same strength field as a woman! But that's not all. This can be used for women as well!"

The crowd cheered, people whistled, and Carlnitus put out his hand to signal them to shut the fuck—to quiet down.

"Now, I present to you, the Skelcarlton! No, I'm just kidding. I didn't name it that. I actually don't even have a name for it yet. Anyway, show let's see this bad boy!"

Rising from the stage Carlnitus was on was a thick glass case that held the Endoskeleton inside it.

To any scientist or engineer, this was as beautiful as looking at your first love, but to everyone else, it just looked like a black skeleton with technology lines.

'Here it comes.' Jin readied himself for an attack.

"Now, let me explain everything that this skeleton can do."

The rest of the event went off without any problems, and the attack from the Sons of Adam didn't happen at all.
