Jin and Addison, alongside the rest of the Aegis Corps, were left confused. They were confident that the Sons of Adam would attack at the event, yet there was no sign of their activity at all, not even a distraction.

"Mister Carlnitus? How does this skeleton work?" A woman asked

Now that the event to showcase the skeleton was over, it was time for the investors to ask their questions.

"Great question. You see, the skeleton will be connected to all of your nerves, veins, muscles, and the other parts of your inner body that are normally connected to the skeleton." He answered.

"Okay, but what about the danger it could pose to a person's health?"

"That's also a good question. And I have an answer. NANITES! Martha, do the thing!"

Matha clicked a button on her tablet that popped up a different holoscreen.

"We inject nanites into the bloodstream. The self-replication feature of the nanites will prevent any cellular decay or type of health risk! We're still testing that part, though."

Another person raised their hand to speak. "Do you think this will level the playing field between men and women?"

"If you want my honest answer, then it's no, I don't think so. However, the powerlessness a man would experience, or even a woman with a lackluster power would expierence, this will definitely make them feel strong. And this is only the first step. My goal is to fully combine flesh with metal."

"So you want us to become Cyborgs?"

"Only those who are willing. My partnership with Richard Dickson has allowed many people who lost limbs to be equipped with advanced prosthetics that even work with a woman's abilities. Now, we're aiming inward as well. Imagine all of the people born with weak and frail bones. Now, they can be normal like everyone else."

'Partnership?' Jin didn't expect Carlnitus to have a partnership with Richard Dickson. He made a mental note to look more into Richard Dickson when he got back home.

"That is everything for this event. If you wish to contact me, please go through my assistant, Mratha, here. That will be all."

More people tried to ask Carlnitus questions, but he ignored them and walked off the stage into the back room.

"So that's it? No break in? No theft? Just an event that went smoothly? If this were a book, I'd say something big is about to happen." Addison didn't believe the cult was just going to sit back and do nothing. They bombed Olympus, so there's nothing they wont do.

"They're definitely planning something, I just don't..." It was subtle, but Jin did notice it. Before Carlnitus could fully enter the back room, a man, potentially an investor, walked over to him to speak. He was sweating profusely, and it wasn't even hot in the building.

"Sorry, but the event is over. Speak with Martha if you wish to hear back from me."

"I-It will just take a minute, M-Mister Carlnitus." Reaching into his dress jacket, the man's shaking hand grabbed nothing. But the subtle shift in space rang in Jin's senses, and he was able to feel the man being handed something by someone who had some sort of space powers.

He didn't know what the man was holding, but his senses screamed at him, and if there was one thing Jin would always listen to, it was his senses.

"EVERYBODY GET DOWN!"

It happened so fast. The explosion that is. It was an extremely powerful bomb that went off. It wasn't on the level of a nova bomb, but it was still powerful enough to instantly kill people who had fire or heat powers.

Jin barely managed to protect Carlnitus, a shield erecting around him before the blast could harm him. Martha also reacted, barely in time after hearing Jin yell, and used her powers to shield Carlnitus from the blast.

But even then, they were both injured and knocked unconscious.

Jin's powers managed to weaken the blast, allowing everyone to survive, but there were still injuries all around the place, and the building was extremely damaged. Thankfully, the place was built with explosions in mind, so the security system automatically activated extra supports to make sure the building didn't topple.

That, however, was the good news. All around the city in random locations, large explosions went off, killing many people and injuring many more.

It was a genius tactic. The Sons of Adam were forcing the Aegis corps to spread out, allowing them to sneak into the building and steal the endoskeleton.

"Addison, are you okay?" Jin asked, picking her up.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit winded by the shockwave." She dusted off her clothes and coughed out some dust that had entered her throat.

"I knew those bastards would come!" She cursed. "Where are they? I'm going to blast their heads off!"

"Dunno. Let's find out." Jin placed his hand on the ground and sent a wave of mana through it. Through this wave, he was able to see everything that was going on in the vicinity.

Security was rushing over to the area, people were pulling out others who were trapped under debris, and the Operatives and Strikers in the building who weren't injured were looking for any signs of suspicious activity.

However, there was something else Jin spotted: people crawling through vents on the lower level that led to the room where the endoskeleton was being kept.

"Gotcha! They're underneath us. Addison, hold on." He grabbed her hand, then moved the space around them to below them.

"Oh goddess! My fucking insides burn!" Addison had to hold the wall to stop herself from falling over.

"Yeah, it will wear off soon, don't worry. In the meantime, though," Jin blasted the air vents, watching three people fall to the ground, landing on their feet like cats.

"Going somewhere?" He asked

"Jin Telegard. You're always in the way of things!" One woman growled

"Damn, I've always known you were sexy, but seeing you in person makes you even sexier than normal. Why don't we go somewhere and have a little...fun." Another woman asked Jin, licking her lips.

He shook his head. "No thanks. I'm not into women with no tits."

"Fucking arrogant bitch!"

"Shut up, you two. We're here on a mission. We can't mess this up, or the Speaker will be angry at us!" The third woman was the most reasonable, and she never took her eyes off Jin, preparing for him to make a move.

"Fine." The second woman scoffed. "After we beat him up, I'll just have my fun with him."
