Thrusted into a world ruled by women

Chapter 78: A fake!

"Oh goddess! OH GODDESS! HELP ME!!!!" The speaker cried as he saw how high they were in the sky and how fast they were falling toward the surface.

"Oh, there is no goddess of this world. There's only one person whom you should be begging your life for, and that's me!"

"I'm gonna die! They're gonna kill me! They're gonna fire me, then kill me!"

Jin narrowed his eyes. "What are you talking about?"

The Speaker covered his mouth as if he had said too much.

"Speak now or die!" Jin demanded.

"Just kill me! They're gonna kill me anyway!"

"Who's they?"

"THE FUCKING SONS OF ADAM YOU BASTARD! ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS COME TO OUR SIDE, AND THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED! FUCK!"

Jin didn't like his tone, so he threw the man faster toward the surface.

"AHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Flying closer to him, Jin started asking questions again.

"Speak and you live!"

"I-I can't!"

"Do you know how high we are right now? We're about to enter the altitude where the highest fighter jets from the military have flown. That means we're getting closer and closer to the ground. Even if we land in water, we'll go splat. So talk!"

"Okay. OKAY! I-I'm just a face! An actor! Someone who reads scripts."

"What are you talking about?"

"I mean that I'm not the real Speaker!"

Jin was taken aback. He knew for a fact that this was the same man he had met previously and even spied on at the Golden Boar. But this whole time, he was just an actor?

"Who's the actual speaker?!" Jin demanded to know.

"I don't know!"

Jin grabbed the man's shirt and threw him even closer to the surface.

"Now we're around the level where those old timish commercial airplanes fly. Better start talking!"

"I'm serious! I don't know! I don't know! Please believe me! I just fill in for the real speaker when he has to do dangerous missions, like speaking to you! Other than that, I only know that he manages his business!"

That caught Jin's attention. "Business? What business?"

"I don't know. I'm not aware of anything other than what I told you! Please believe me!"

Jin desperately wanted to read his mind, but knowing that it would make him brain-dead, he opted not to and would turn him in to the Aegis Corps.

'I need to work on my mind-reading magic.'

"Go to sleep for me." Jin knocked the man out with a punch to the face.

---

"And that's how I ended up in space." He finished telling his story to Mrs Horton.

She sighed, rubbing her eyes as she heard Jin's story. "So you're working with the police now?"

"No. I was doing a favor as an upstanding citizen." He replied.

"Technically, he's not lying." Miss Lockman muttered.

"Whatever, I'm not even going to act like I care anymore. You're simply going to keep disobeying orders, and I can't even threaten you with discharge since you'll be excited. Anyway, I want to thank you for coming to us with this information. It will truly be helpful to our manhunt."

"No problem." Jin turned around to leave.

"I didn't dismiss you."

"And?"

Miss Lockman nearly choked on her saliva.

"Man, you're really like your mother. So rebellious. But you also have your father's reserve. You're the perfect combination of them. But I was going to tell you that you're no longer suspended. Starting in three days, you will be assigned a new mission. That's all."

Jin nodded, then left.

On his way back home, he gave Karen a call, telling her that her tip was a trap and that there was someone on the inside who knew that she was close with him and was probably trying to get him caught by the Sons of Adam.

She thanked him for clarifying and said that she would deeply look into the matter.

Jin took a train to Anyssa's house, ate dinner, and then told them what happened.

"You need to be more careful, Jin. But I'm sure you're fine." Anyssa patted him on the back.

"That's it, Mom? You're not going to tell him how much he needs to be aware of his surroundings, or pat him down to see if he's injured?" Every time Jin was in trouble, Anyssa would do that, so Brittany was surprised she didn't do it here.

"Sweetie, he just killed thousands of people, traveled through space, fell from the sky, and doesn't even have one scratch on him. I don't think I have to worry about him like that anymore."

"Fair enough."

"I'm going to sleep. I had a long day." Jin went to his room and crashed on his bed.

---

In the cells of the Aegis Corps, the fake Speaker was shaking profusely and jolted at every sound he heard, no matter how subtle it was.

"I'm gonna die. They're gonna kill me. They know I failed. I have to escape! I have to make sure they don't find me." He kept muttering over and over again under his breath.

"Hey! Look alive, prisoner. The warden wants a word with you." A guard banged on his cell, the baton grazing on the energy wall that was the cell door.

"No! Keep me here!" He begged.

She looked down at the man, chuckled, then deactivated the energy door. "Get the hell up."

"No! Stop! Don't let me leave!" He begged as he was dragged out of the cell.

"Shut up and face forward." The guard pushed him forward and walked with the man to meet with the warden.

The fake speaker was nervous, knowing that the Aegis Corps had people from their cult on the inside. He hoped and prayed that they didn't have anyone who worked in the prisons, but he knew that his wishful thinking was exactly what it was...wishful.

They arrived at a door, one that clearly didn't belong to the warden. "Go inside." The guard demanded.

"T-This isn't the warden's office!"

"I know." She grabbed his head, opened the door, and tossed him inside.

"You have failed me." A person wearing a suit said as they stood in front of a picture. Their voice was distorted so no one would know what they sounded like.

"P-Please forgive me! I didn't expect Jin to be so powerful! He was able to successfully merge his body with nanites without any negative effects. But he was also able to absorb the powers of the women he had killed. Our people! He took out the thousands of people I had on the space station with ease!"

"I'm not here to listen to your excuses, you worm. You had one job, and you nearly cost us our entire mission. Do you know how many people were killed today by ONE FUCKING MAN!?"

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please, forgive me! Don't be angry with me!"

"Don't worry. I already took care of my anger when I killed your family today."

"W-What?" The fake speaker was instantly crushed

"And I can't leave any loose ends. Besides, I have no use for useless people." The real speaker quickly turned around and shot the fake one in the head.
