Thrusted into a world ruled by women

Chapter 86: Early Retirement

Jin started to choke the life out of Miss Lockman, his anger getting the best of him as he watched the life slowly drain out of her face.

She grabbed his arm, trying to pull it away, but her strength meant nothing to Jin. Panic set in when she realized that Jin wasn't budging, and she was powerless to get him off her.

"Say that shit again, I fucking dare you, bitch!" Jin wanted to kill her. He could snap her neck with ease. Her measly power was nothing to him.

"Jin! That's enough!" Mrs Horton blasted Jin off Miss Lockman, allowing her to breathe once again.

He was about to fight back, about to put her in her place, but he stopped himself. Jin was still angry, furious even, but it wasn't worth it.

"Now that you've calmed down. Let me explain everything to you." Mrs Horton picked up Miss Lockman, healing her neck and setting her down on the couch, and gave her a bottle of water.

"No. I don't care what your reasoning is. I don't care what the council ordered. You're the most powerful person in the country. Your voice alone can alter the outcome of anything. If the council didn't listen to you and still killed your own student, then speaking to you would be as worthless as you were when you didn't help my mother. Fuck you and the Aegis Corps, I quit." Jin threw his identification on the ground and started walking away.

"Jin Telegard. I understand that you're upset, and I know that you're operating out of your anger right now. However, if you truly quit, then I'll have to take you in for not only messing with Military and Aegis Corps technology when you weren't a part of our system, but also because the Sons of Adam are after you, and I can't have a genius like you on their side."

He knew it was a threat even though Mrs Horton didn't say it like one. Still, Jin was unbothered.

"I'd like to see you try." His anger exploded, and Jin released his bloodlust. The room was thick with his hatred, and even Mrs Horton was having a difficult time breathing.

She knew Jin deeply loved his parents, but she didn't know his anger that surrounded their deaths ran this deep. It was unsettling and scary.

Before she could pick herself back up, Jin vanished into the night.

Now that he was gone, both women were able to breathe properly, gasping for air as they clutched their throats.

"The past is coming to haunt us." Mrs Horton frowned.

"W-What do you wish to do?" Miss Lockman asked

"Nothing. The kid is grieving. You can't blame him for that. Just keep an eye on Jin. He alone is the piece of the puzzle that will either make or break our future."

---

"Please tell me you didn't do anything stupid," Angela asked as Jin returned to their apartment.

"Define stupid."

"Jin."

"Yeah. I did something stupid. And I quit the Aegis Corps. But I don't wanna talk about it. I just wanna sleep."

Angela understood and didn't pry. She got into bed with Jin and held him in her arms as they fell asleep together.

---

"YOU DID WHAT?!?!?!?!?!" Brittany couldn't believe what she heard, so she had to hear it again.

"I quit the Aegis Corps," Jin repeated.

"No! This isn't happening. You were right there! You were so close! You were about to be an official member! You were about to be my vanguard! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"Jin, why did you quit? I know that you never really cared to join in the first place, but you did say you would stay. Did something happen?" Anyssa asked with a worried expression.

"Yeah. My mom." Jin explained everything from start to finish without leaving anything out.

"Oh no. Jin, I'm so sorry." Brittany gave her closest and oldest friend a warm, loving hug. She understood his pain, having lost her father as well. She knew that what Jin was experiencing was worse.

"So you learned about that, huh? I guess it was about time." Anyssa said with a sigh.

"You knew?" Jin asked. He wasn't angry. He figured his mother would have told her something about her situation.

"Somewhat. I was also a part of that program. But I was never experimented on because I happened to go on a mission and was injured. I was told that because of my injury, I would be at risk of death. By the time I healed, the project was over."

Jin was somewhat thankful for Anyssa getting injured. If not for that, she could have died, and Brittany wouldn't have been born, and he would have been sent to an orphanage.

"Jessa lived her life watching her back for any danger that could come her way. That only increased when she met your father and had you. After so many years of peace, she thought everything was fine. But...well..I'm sure you know where I'm going with this story."

Jin held his head down. It was the day his parents died. He remembered being so happy with them that day. They had come back from watching a movie, and he was acting like his favorite hero.

Then, when he turned around to show off his superhero pose, boom! The next thing he knew, he woke up in a hospital, Anyssa and Brittany by his side, and both of his parents were dead.

"What do you plan on doing now?" Brittany asked.

"I'm going to take my well-needed naps throughout the daytime now. Probably prepare some dinner and watch some TV. Maybe even play some video games."

That was a lie, of course. Jin had already made up his mind. He was going to eliminate the Sons of Adam, then find out who the people were who worked on the experiment his mother was a part of, and kill them all.

'Sometimes, to live the life we want, we need to soak the world in blood. And unfortunately, for the 501st time, I'm the sword once more.'
