Jin continued reading about the whole experiment to see what else he could learn. He saw that those who survived the third round of experiments were higher in number than in the previous rounds. Still, the mortality rate was high.

"After conducting the experiment for decades, the Aegis Corps has ordered the shutdown of this project and the extermination of the subjects that survived. This project was originally meant to be a secret fighting force of the Aegis Corps, but they determined that it was too high-risk and pulled out funding. The person in charge of taking out the survivors of this project is Jessa Telegard. As a speedster, she is the perfect person for the job. Once she completes her mission, Erosa Garner will take her out."

Jin's hands started to shake, and if it wasn't for Angela taking the tablet out of his hands, he would have crushed it to bits.

"Jin."

"Not now."

"Yes, now." She held him in her arms, feeling his body shaking profusely.

"M-Mom's death. It was orchestrated. She was assassinated. It wasn't a random gang attack. It was...It was the Aegis Corps!" His anger started to rise, and his hair glowed a fiery purple.

"Jin, please, calm down." Angela held him tighter, trying to ease his pain, but it wasn't enough. She could feel his emotions, and it was intense. So much so that she felt like breaking down with him.

"Calm down? You expect me to fucking calm down? I just learned that my mom was a fucking lab rat, and because she survived, she was killed! But that's not all. My father was fucking collateral damage! I became an orphan because of this damn organization! I'm working for them! For fuck sake! And they just tried to make me destroy all the evidence to this shit!"

Jin got up and stormed to the door, but before he could leave, Angela froze his legs.

"Jin, stop."

"No." He blasted her into the wall, easily breaking through the ice.

"Jin, wait! Listen to me. Don't do anything crazy! I understand that you're upset, but if you act on your emotions, there could be serious consequences! I don't want that for you! Please, just come back and sleep this off. I'm right here." This was the first time Angela was being truly affectionate to cater to Jin's feelings.

They were never really sentimental with each other; they never had to be. They had a simple friendship and occasionally had sex with each other. Sure, they considered each other close friends, but for the first time, they connected with their emotions that weren't driven by lust or desire.

"Fine." Jin sighed, taking a moment to really consider what he was about to do.

Angela's face lit up, happy that she was able to get through Jin.

"But I need to have a chat with our little school principal." He took off, not waiting for Angela to respond.

"Just don't do anything crazy, Jin. I'm here for you."

"And finally, we'll look into what Cadmus has been doing for the past few months. If she is really a member of the Sons of Adam, then who knows how much information she has given them, especially with her status." Mrs Horton was both happy and annoyed that she learned of a spy in their organization.

It was good that they found out and could potentially find more through Cadmus, but it was very unfortunate that she was a high-ranking person. Still, purging the traitors was better than letting them thrive.

"I understand. I'll get on this right away." Miss Lockman nodded.

"Good. Oh, and tell Jin that he did a good job today."

Before Miss Lockman could respond, Jin busted into her office, destroying the wall and large window behind Mrs Horton in the process. Both women got into combat stances, wondering who in their right mind would break into the office of one of the most powerful people on the planet.

"Why don't you tell me that yourself?" Jin asked in an extremely angry tone.

Mrs Horton was surprised to see a familiar face. "Jin? What the hell is your problem? I let you get away with a lot of shit, but this is taking it too far! I'm taking this out of your paycheck!"

"Shut the fuck up." He replied coldly.

Mrs Horton knew Jin well enough to understand that he was angry, and for him to tell her specifically to shut the fuck up, she had a feeling of what he was here for.

"Would you like to explain to me what this bullshit is?" He tossed a metallic disk on the table, which popped out a holographic file that was titled 'The Women Enhancement Program.'

Miss Lockman shuddered after she read the words of the hologram, and Mrs Horton sighed.

"So you learned about this, huh?"

"Were you expecting me not to?!"

"Honestly, yeah. This was a dark time for the Aegis Corps, and this program was meant to prepare for a war that could have broken out with neighboring countries."

"I don't give a shit about that!" Jin exploded. "My mother! You had my mother killed!"

"That's...was not under my control." Mrs Horton looked as if she had been carrying a lot of guilt when she heard Jin speak those words. His mother was her Student, her best student. Her death affected her deeply.

"That was the Aegis Corps Council's call." Miss Lockman spoke up.

"Then why the fuck aren't you dead?! I saw the hit list. All surviving members of the experiment were supposed to be killed! Yet here you are."

"I...I managed to escape that fate because Mrs Horton helped me."

"What?!"

"Jin! Listen to me." Mrs Horton could see his anger rising.

"Why? So you can let me down just as you did my mother?"

"That's not what happened!" She slammed her fist on her desk, shattering it into pieces. "Sherry was already with me at the time, and I was able to protect her from consequences."

Miss Lockman nodded her head, adding to Mrs Horton's story. "Since your mother was the one doing the killing, she was the scapegoat for the whole project. Unfortunate, but necessary. She had to die."

Jin lost it at this point. His hair and eyes ignited with fury, and he flew across the room, gripping Miss Lockman by the throat and slamming her into the wall.
