After taking a brief rest outside, Lune and I re-entered Andras's Dungeon.
Thanks to deliberately making a commotion to announce our attack and lure out the Andras, we'd caught quite a lot of Andras in just one hour since entering the dungeon.
The 2-star Andras was already guaranteed, and if we caught just a bit more, the 3-star Andras would be in sight. There's no way there wouldn't be 9 more ahead, so the moment I cleared Andras's Dungeon, I'd secure three 3-star subordinates.
Eila, Lime, and Andras A.
"You're gaining experience like crazy, huh?"
"Are you saying I overeat? The only thing I eat a lot of is what Master gives me!"
Unexpectedly, Lune reacted sensitively to the word overeating. Though her added words were quite admirable, I changed my phrasing to make it easier for Lune to understand.
"I'm saying you'll need to kill quite a lot of Andras to grow."
"If that's what you meant, well. Sorry, I misunderstood."
Lune's level was now 28. Considering she'd killed quite a lot of 2-star Andras too, her growth was considerably slow. If the dungeon structure wasn't suitable for Lune to shine, she'd probably still be stagnant around level 25.
'Good thing it's just straight ahead.'
Andras's Dungeon had a surprisingly simple structure.
Spiral.
Only a long straight corridor continued. If I hadn't opened the minimap feeling something was off about the path that only went forward, I probably would've wavered about whether to keep going or not.
'Damn huge.'
Starting from the entrance, the corridor curved so well that entrants wouldn't notice anything strange at all. Even after walking for nearly an hour, we'd only circled the dungeon about twice—the dungeon was structured to waste time.
"There should be a secret passage in the middle."
"But we couldn't find anything like that at all."
Lune perked up her ears. She looked around the cave here and there saying she was listening to wind sounds, but all we found were Andras's feathers with strange mud on them. Lune threw it on the ground in horror.
"Making a dungeon like this gets you called a shit game."
"Huh?"
"Just that the dungeon structure's dirty. This makes it super hard to go on the attack, right?"
"Maybe there's another method. Like flying away with wings."
"That's... damn it."
I became anxious at the thought that came to mind. Just as I'd drilled holes front and back of the dungeon to make escape routes, unless Andras was a complete idiot, she would've made an escape route too.
The dungeon gates that open randomly across the continent lead to places designated as the dungeon's 'entrance'. And Andras had made the path from entrance to depths quite long.
"Really annoying."
"Master, how about digging through the cave walls?"
"Dirt walls or monster walls, the time taken seems similar. Lune."
Lune raised her bow with my instruction. According to the minimap, we seemed to have reached the middle, and an area where the corridor suddenly widened left and right appeared.
"Master. This is that thing, right?"
"A maze. Fucking hell."
Doing something even Forneus didn't do here. I was irritated at the corridor split left and right.
"And she dug traps too."
I threw the frying pan toward the ceiling with that irritation. Lune was startled and stepped back, and soon a monster hit in the wings by the thrown frying pan fell to the ground with a thud.
"Y-you filthy invader!"
"This one's unique?"
I immediately kicked the monster's belly. The monster made choking sounds and collapsed clutching its stomach. I grabbed the monster's 'hair' and pulled it up.
"You're an Andras, right?"
"Don't carelessly speak the mistress's name! Kugh..."
The monster looked like a higher species of Andras. At least it wasn't a bird-brain, but rather had a face closer to human. The unique points were wings on its back facing downward, or feathers protecting the human face.
If Andras up to 2-stars were just bird-brain humans, this Andras should be called a beastman or birdman.
"What star is this one?"
[Demi-human Andras: ★★★ Lv.45]
"Whoa."
A 3-star caught so anticlimactically. I was dumbfounded. On the ground where the demi-human Andras fell, a crumpled frying pan was rolling around.
"Was the frying pan too strong?"
"I think Master's the strong one."
"Well, that's true."
Now a proper 4-star, I threw an object easily exceeding 10kg with full force, and it hit the wings of all places, so the impact must've been considerable.
"Sorry."
"If you're sorry, present your neck right now and get lost, you vicious monsters!"
"But why don't you put 'ras' at the end of your words-ras?"
"Y-you bastard!"
The demi-human Andras blushed and tried to spit at me. I immediately stepped on its chest and pressed down firmly.
"I'm asking you."
"R-ras is something we use unavoidably! Having evolved, I have a human mouth...!"
"Ah, I get the gist. Next question."
I lifted the demi-human Andras's neck and pointed to the opposite side.
"Hey, where's the path inside?"
"Think I'll tell you?!"
"If you don't talk in 10 seconds, you die. 10, 5, 2—"
"Master?"
Lune asked me. I turned my head to the side.
"What?"
"You said 10 seconds. But why—"
"Haha! Farewell-ras!"
The demi-human Andras squeezed out recovered strength in that moment to escape from me. Flapping its wings widely to cover Lune's and my eyes, the demi-human Andras stabbed my hand with its claws and escaped restraint.
"Kieek!"
Flapping black wings and running on the ground—it was exactly like a chicken-pigeon.
"Ah, Master?! I'm sorry! Because I spoke to you!"
"No. You did well."
I praised Lune instead. Thanks to Lune speaking, I easily found the path we needed to take.
"Which way did that one escape just now?"
"Right!"
"Then let's go right."
"Huh?"
I crumpled the feathers on my hand and threw them on the ground.
"No way someone fleeing for their life would choose a dead end."
The Andras had broken wings and chose to run on the ground with human legs. And those footprints remained very faintly on the ground.
"Even if it's a dead end, it's fine."
"You'll kill it right away when caught?"
"Yeah. You will."
The kill count might be 1, but Lune's experience would rise tremendously. I chased after the fleeing Andras with Lune. I really wanted to say this to the real Andras.
"She's really good at guiding. Right?"
We broke through the fork very easily without getting even one wrong, and arrived right in front of the dungeon's center drawing a spiral shape.
"Ugh, disgustingly swarming."
The bird-brains all turned their heads toward us at once. Black feathers and beaks like crows, and monster-characteristic red eyes were all pointing at Lune and me.
"Enemy-ras."
"Intruder-ras."
"The monsters the captain mentioned-ras."
Step. Step.
The Andras walked toward us with sharpened claws. I clenched my fists, and Lune raised her bow again.
"Perfect hunting ground for you."
"Because enemies are coming in a straight line?"
"Yeah. You just shoot forward without aiming."
"Well, that's true..."
Lune laughed soullessly and drew her bowstring. No need to aim—she just shot arrows roughly toward the cave on the opposite side of the corridor.
"Gahk!"
One of the swarming Andras took an arrow and fell. I figured she'd shoot randomly and hit anywhere, but the arrow happened to graze an unfortunate place and even pierced the Andras behind's thing.
"Double, no, quad kill."
Lune simultaneously eliminated two Andras and their sons. Lune laughed emptily and drew her bowstring again.
"Haha, this is easy. Haha."
Fwoosh, fwoosh, fwoosh.
Lune repeated shooting the bow with mechanical movements. She shot arrows consecutively before her fingers went numb, and the Andras had wind holes all over their bodies with no chance to dodge.
"Y-you damn bastards!!"
"Ah, look at that fucker hiding?"
The moment I heard the voice, I instinctively knew the captain, a 3-star Andras, was hiding among regular soldiers. Lune immediately aimed her bowstring, but the captain Andras quickly changed position.
"Everyone listen well! You must not let those things enter the mistress's bedroom before the mistress finishes preparing!"
"""Uoooooh!!!"""
The Andras were encouraged by the captain Andras's morale boost. Lune's spirit slightly died, but I rode the Andras's cheering and yelled.
"Uoooooh!!"
"Master?"
"Lune, you must never do that. Got it?"
Just like something evolved from a bird-brain, carelessly mentioning the master's status was stupidly reckless. I lifted Lune and placed her on my shoulder.
"Lune, can you see something like a door on the opposite side?"
"Yes. There's an iron door. Seems like it closes from inside, but it looks tightly shut now."
Lune confirmed the depths beyond the cave with elf-characteristic keen eyes. The Andras clenched their fists showing firm will to defend that place.
"Lune. There are two strategies here."
I lowered Lune from my shoulder and pulled her in front of me. Lune, spanning from nape to butt on one arm, went into the exact position I used when developing Lune's rear, but now wasn't the time for that.
"This position, now that I think about it, is perfect for shooting."
"That was the original intention."
"Master, will you finally do me after this is over?"
"Of course."
Blushing Lune took a shooting stance, but I shook my head.
"So to finish what I was saying, one dungeon clearing method is beating them all one by one. Originally, leveling before the boss room is the rule, you know?"
"Are you saying to kill all the Andras?"
"Yeah. That's probably the original clearing method. I think there are probably exactly 666."
The feast of bird-brains filling a considerable playground was truly an unwatchable sight. Not even wearing clothes, naked bird-brain men and women shaking around—I had no motivation to brawl with them.
"But this case is quite unique. The dungeon composition and packing so many subordinates at the end. Lune, what do you think the intention is?"
"Well. It'd take a lot of time to clear, ah."
Lune seemed to realize the real Andras's intention.
"She's trying to buy time!"
"Right. But still an idiot. If she wanted to buy time, she should've lined up 600 in a row like a train. So we'd go back because it's annoying to catch them midway."
When you pack them in one place, you naturally think 'if I just sweep this place clean.' If Meri were here, I'd want to burn them all with fire magic, but unfortunately, the only subordinate beside me was Lune.
"Then I'll shoot hard! Master, put me down!"
"Right. But Lune. We can seize the dungeon without clearing the sub-quest."
I pointed at my neck and made a slashing motion with my hand. Then I rubbed over all my fingers.
[Strength Enhancement.]
[Endurance Enhancement.]
[Patience Enhancement.]
[Blood Flow Acceleration.]
...And
[Berserker.]
"Kuhuu, kuhup."
My breathing gradually became rougher. My already swollen body started swelling more, and my heart heated up enough to worry it might burst.
Wooooong—!!
The tattoo extending from my fingers wrapped around my entire arm and started glowing red. The tattoo that started from hands and arms heated up to my chest and below my neck in red, and my vision gradually reddened.
"Gwaaaar—!!"
I roared toward the front. The Andras just about to enter the corridor were horrified and stepped back, and I firmly grabbed Lune and charged forward.
Thud thud thud thud!!
The dungeon shook greatly with each step. I charged like a bull in a bullfighting ring, and some Andras split apart.
"You idiots! Don't be scared!"
The enemy captain Andras shouted. The Andras shook their heads and raised their arms to block me.
"Master?!"
"Hold tight!!"
Lune hugged my nape, and I kicked off the ground and jumped.
Jumped. Off the ground.
"Hiiik?!"
The Andras screamed. I leaped over the Andras with the forward momentum as is, and soon fell quickly due to weight.
And below me, footholds overflowed.
Thud!
I extended my foot to stomp a bird-brain. And using that rebound, I jumped forward again.
"Kueek!"
The trampled Andras screamed and collapsed. I ran over the Andras's heads with blood flow acceleration.
Thud thud thud thud thwack thud thud!
There was one I accidentally stepped between the eyes, but I reached the iron door in just 30 steps.
"Lune, jump!"
I threw Lune above me. Lune took a falling technique preparing to land in empty space while doing an aerial somersault, and I drew my legs to my stomach.
"Master?!"
I gathered my whole body's strength in my legs and extended them. Target: the iron door.
If I have to break open the iron door anyway, just charge full force and throw my body!
CRASH—!!
The iron door flung open left and right. With a dull sound, the solid bolt shattered with the ring. I rolled in a ball avoiding that.
"Fuhuu, huup."
I shook my head vigorously and watched ahead. Above the summoning circle, a woman with legs spread wide, face full of blush, eyes glistening with tears looked at me with hazy eyes.
"..."
"Hiya, she set the table right up. Jackpot."
The woman in black feather clothes, Andras, held a black lustrous egg in her arms. Warm heat rose as if she'd just laid it.
"Who... are you?"
"Thanks for the meal."
I immediately pulled down my pants.
The table was set, and I picked up my spoon.
