SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows

Chapter 122: Chaos eyes

When the dust finally settled, Aren was standing there, looking right at the lady. She still stood there, unmoving, her hands up in the air, controlling both massive eyes.

"It seems we might have met someone special," Zero stated.

"Yeah, definitely," Aren replied.

He walked forward again, ready for another round, but this time, he couldn't hold back.

Her ability didn't seem to care about his strength or level. If she could see it, she could destroy it, and with two even more powerful eyes now in the sky, she was a lot more lethal.

"Your ability is one of a kind. You are a real prodigy for sure," Aren said as he walked, "but sadly, your opponent is me." He stated. She looked up, her eyes and the two eyes focusing on Aren.

BOOM

The chaos followed in a massive explosion exactly where he stood, but Aren was no longer there. He shot through the cloud of dust like a rocket up into the air.

She looked up, and there he was in the air. She attacked again, all eyes looking at him. There was nowhere to run in the air, but Aren had proved time and time again that it didn't apply to him.

Two tendrils shot from below, grabbing him at the right moment and pulling him down fast. The attack caused an explosion in the air right where he had been, but he was no longer there.

He touched the ground and instantly bolted toward her through the dust.

He knew that she would be expecting him, so he summoned multiple shadow ants, allowing them to rush ahead. They all burst out of the dust like bullets, and immediately she tried to react, her eyes moving all around, destroying each one in massive explosions, creating a full field of dust and debris, the perfect condition.

Aren ran through.

He had learned in their short interaction that she had to see to attack. Her line of sight might be wider and farther than the normal human, but it was still sight, and where she couldn't see meant she couldn't attack.

The eyes in the sky twitched and turned to find Aren, but he wasn't showing, and when one finally picked up movement, it attacked, but Aren had already passed there.

To make sure he was covered, Aren proceeded to summon even more ants. They filled the area, and their movements intentionally showed through the dust a little, making the eyes attack them, while the real threat moved unnoticed.

Then, Aren burst out of the dust a few feet away from the lady. She was stunned by this, but she had to react fast. She immediately attacked at that close range, but Aren expected this.

A tendril that he had planted just as he was coming out of the dust wrapped around him and yanked him to the side as fast as possible, allowing him to dodge even as the explosion ripped through the air.

Aren spun midair and sent a kick right into her chest.

BAM!

The force of the kick threw her back fast. She slammed into the ground, her hands went down, and the massive eyes in the sky closed up.

She slid for a few meters and then finally stopped, pushing herself back up almost immediately and looking right at Aren, but no attack came, so he figured she didn't want to attack yet.

"You don't have to keep fighting. Your teammates are down. If you keep going, I'll be forced to hurt you more, and frankly, I'm tired of killing," Aren said, hoping she listened.

But instead, she lifted her hand, her palm facing him. One of the eyes appeared right behind Aren and opened to look at him.

At that range, dodging was impossible. Aren would die from the impact of the attack at that range or suffer heavy injuries.

The eye attacked. Aren had a split second. Immediately, he used yard switch, swapping places with one of the ants that he summoned.

The ant was obliterated by the chaos at point-blank range, while Aren was teleported away.

As Aren appeared, he frowned. "Fine, that does it," he said. He wasn't holding back anymore.

Immediately, he summoned the Hydra. It appeared and immediately unleashed a powerful lava breath attack that turned into a wave, rushing toward the lady.

She looked at the red-hot lava in fear and quickly moved to block, lifting her dominant hand into the air. The chaos eye appeared. With both eyes, she attacked the lava.

BOOM

An explosion rippled through the air as lava was blasted meters into the air, and the path of its flow was diverted, allowing her to stand safe in the middle. But that wouldn't be enough, especially when it was Aren that wanted her gone.

He lifted his hand and pointed at her. Black lightning crackled around his hand, charging up high and then condensing on his pointed-out finger like a gun.

"Booo," Aren muttered as he fired the attack.

The lightning traveled instantly toward her.

She had barely half a second to react. She looked at the attack, attempting to use her ability.

BOOM!

She managed it at the last moment. The set threw her back hard and fast. She slammed into the ground hard and rolled to a stop, not getting up like last time.

Her eyes in the sky vanished. She lay there defenseless.

Aren walked in her direction, steps echoing against the rocky ground.

But when he was close, the ground rumbled, shaking extremely hard.

He turned around. "It's here," he said, looking in the distance, and so did his teammates. They all looked in fear.

The lady also finally got up. She struggled to her feet and saw Aren standing there, but not attacking, rather looking in the distance.

She joined him to look as well, as she could feel the presence of something coming.

Finally, it showed itself in all its glory. It had caught up with them once again.

The son of Jotnar, the giant.
