The man was stunned at how fast these kids had taken out the leader jersey for touching one of them. It was as if he triggered something inside them from that contact.
"Are you okay, Athena?" Kira asked.
Athena nodded. She wasn't really worried when the man grabbed her. It was near impossible to do anything to her, especially with the group here, but she was extremely happy seeing how fast they reacted for her.
The man was about to walk up to the group when more than ten city guards came rushing in that direction, weapons pulled.
"Everyone stand down," the guards yelled, ready to battle them if they made any move.
They looked at the state of the restaurant and there knew it was a full-out awakened battle that had happened here. Someone needed to be arrested here.
The man, seeing the situation, lifted his hands and walked forward. The guards shifted back slightly but kept their weapons drawn and ready to go.
"Luke, get ready to detain him if he makes any sudden movements," the guard that seemed to be the leader spoke, and one of the guards nodded immediately.
"I'm sorry for this, it wasn't my intention to cause any issues. These men simply came to harass my restaurant," the man said.
The captain looked at him, then looked at all the men groaning in pain. He knew who they were. He clenched his jaw, because this would turn out to be an issue soon.
He looked at the man, wondering if he should just apprehend him in order to not cause a falling out with the gangs around.
To be smart, he decided to ask for the man's name.
"What is your name?"
"Oliver, Oliver White."
The moment the guard heard the name White, realization hit him.
"Get the men on the floor, arrest them, and lock them up in the Borden dungeons," he ordered immediately.
The guards walked in and apprehended everyone, placing them in some sort of cuff that used soul energy to suppress their awakened abilities.
"Sorry, Mr. White, for the disturbance. All of them will be locked up properly, and something of this nature won't happen again," the captain said, then left with all the thugs.
Bystanders watched the scene, many happy at this development, because those thugs were a real pain in the neck for many people around there.
"He called himself Oliver White, isn't that the family that tried to kill me? There could be multiple White surnames, but from the way that guard reacted, I am sure that he is from that White," Aren thought as he looked at Oliver.
Oliver noticed his gaze and turned to look at him. "Thank you all for your help. From now on, whenever you come to this restaurant, your meals are free," he said with a smile.
Immediately, Flo flew forward. "Really?" she asked eagerly.
When the man saw her, he shivered in fear. He saw how much she had eaten when they came, but he already promised, so he didn't take his word back.
The group finished introducing themselves to the man and then left his now ruined restaurant.
"That man, he is from the White family," Aren stated.
"White family?" Aiden asked, curious.
"The members of the Silver Tiger that attacked me were sent from that family. But it doesn't seem he knows me," Aren said.
"If that's the case, then I prefer you stay away from that restaurant," Kira suggested.
"Not a chance, free food, unlimited," Aren said, reminding her. She let out a tired sigh, but ultimately agreed to it.
The group spent their time touring the Bronze City, seeing what was this or that in the place, and during their tour, they found a place called the Pig's Pot, an underground fighting ring. Immediately, the boys took a liking to it and already made plans to return.
As for the ladies, only Athena seemed interested, but after Athena said she would go there as well sometime, Zero also said she would go there. Without a choice, Kira decided she would join as well.
She needed the training honestly. Her power had grown exponentially through the last trial, but when compared to the rest of the group, she was the one lacking.
Only she saw herself this way though. The rest of the group didn't see Kira as weaker. They had felt her input in every stage. She saved Aiden before, placed her life on the line for him, and had fought with them through a lot.
She was respected, and to an extent she was seen as the manager of the group. Sure, Aren was basically the leader, but the voice of reason and advice came from her and they respected her words. If only she could see just how much she meant to them, she wouldn't worry too much.
The Pig's Pot became their new spot. Each of them went there every time they could and fought against other awakened.
Their group, in only two weeks, became notorious. No one really knew them outside the matches they fought, and whenever they entered the ring, they brought complete domination, each of them.
Even Kira was a menace. No one in B rank could take her, and anyone in A ranks only struggled for a while before she ultimately won. Her strength was improving, and the experience she gathered from being with the others helped.
But while all this was happening, their names and abilities began reaching the ears of certain figures. Their attention was turned to the group, and most of it was not good attention.
Eyes began watching in the darkness. Questions were getting asked and information was being gathered. Aren and his group were building enemies without even ever meeting them.
And as the time for the tournament drew closer, it became crucial to make a move against the group. The issue was who would be the first to do it, and for what reasons they would make their move.
