Becoming the Wasteland Overlord With My Harem System!

Chapter 89: Flower in Both Hands

Axel returned to his room on the top floor of the castle. He actually wanted one closer to the first floor, but the rest of the girls insisted on such.

He felt tired.

Not only because of the drunk girls at the party, but also because of the trouble Queen Wisteria had brought up.

"Going to a different dimension, huh..." Axel sighed.

If given a choice, he'd rather not leave. Why would he need to head to a dangerous land just to build a fortress if he could just sit here and live peacefully?

However, things weren't that simple.

Apparently, the Demon Invasion was an unending dispute that's been happening since forever. The frontline dimensions were fighting them off, but not for long. In fact, a few frontline dimensions had already fallen to the demons' invasion, decimating the population there and creating new "outposts" for further invasions.

In short, if one frontline dimension fell, it would lead to a hundred new dimensions getting attacked.

The problem was that this world was also under attack by the demons. Although, as per Queen Wisteria's words, it was just an advance army for scouting, it was already enough to kill almost all the living beings on the planet.

If Witcheria were to fall, no doubt the strength of the demons invading here would increase, too.

"I can't let that happen..."

He worked hard building this city.

Spending billions of his money to expand it this far.

There was no way he'd accept it getting destroyed so soon!

As such, it wasn't hard to figure out his choice. Axel decided to go with them.

His departure was the same as Queen Wisteria's return—in two days. Although the witches wished to return tomorrow, Axel still had to set up the camp for the long while he'd be gone. Thus, he needed some time to prepare.

In particular, leaving them with enough provisions to last at most a month if things went wrong.

"The bandits are slowly being reformed, too, thanks to the plan Arianne and I devised. In a week or so, they'll definitely turn into an asset for the camp."

Although, of course, they were still moving under the Obedience Curse for now, their "will" was starting to align with it already. Starving did quite a number on them mentally.

While thinking about this and that, Axel slowly closed his eyes and went to sleep.

[Rise and shine, dumb dumb! A new day is before you, and a new system function has arrived! You get 1% Chance to double the result of any crafting!]

"Ugh..."

For the first time in a long while, Navi came to wake Axel up. Or rather, he was just present with him for a certain reason.

"..Huh?"

Axel opened his groggy eyes, staring at the smug penguin floating before his face. And just as the urge to slap it out of his sight came, he realized that his arms couldn't move.

Looking to his left, he saw a familiar blonde lady. A little girl who had yet to reach legal age, sleeping soundly while using his arm as a pillow.

She wore a thin, white nightgown that gave a slight glimpse of the budding flowers underneath—quite revealing for her tastes.

"..."

On the other side lay a little witch. Same as the other, she also used Axel's arm as a pillow, releasing soft, sleeping breaths as she hugged him from the side.

Opposite of the blonde, she wore a semi-transparent black and purple nightgown, revealing the cute but sexy pair of underwear she had on beneath.

After analyzing the situation, he glanced back at the smug penguin and asked,

"When did these two enter?"

[Hmm? Right around when the party on the ground floor ended, so... about an hour after you slept? You didn't even wake up, even when the two girls were making a move on you. What a hopeless dunce!]

Axel felt a headache coming.

The two on either side were none other than Eve and Teruria. But if their intentions were just as Navi said, then he'd be troubled.

Teruria was fine, for one, but Eve?

He had just sworn to keep a "clean" relationship with her until she came of age. There was no way he'd lay his hands on her before that promise even ended.

Breaking a promise not even a week after making it—he'd become a laughingstock if others knew.

"Nothing happened, right...?" Axel asked the nasty observer.

However, the penguin just shrugged its flippers, still looking smug as usual. [Who knows~? Why don't you try asking the two instead? Look, they're almost awake!]

"..."

Judging by his attitude, returning to the annoying one, Axel felt the birdbrain had forgotten its grudge against him already. It did help, since he'd need Navi's help more than ever if he went to Witcheria, but still—annoying things are annoying.

"Mmh..."

"Yawn...!"

Woken up by Axel's voice, the two little girls opened their sleepy eyes. Axel glanced down, looking at the pair of bubbly heads rising slowly from his arms.

"Good morning...?" Axel greeted them.

The two quickly turned to him, blinked a few times, then reacted differently.

Teruria smiled, greeting back with her eyes basically still closed.

"Mornin, husband... Yawn...!"

Eve's eyes, on the other hand, opened wide as her face blushed. She woke up fully in an instant and realized her "immodest" appearance. She hugged her body tight while shyly responding,

"G-Good morning, Sir Axel..."

Then her body stiffened—as if struck by lightning. As soon as she greeted him, she remembered what Maria told her before pushing her in here.

Eve turned to Axel and placed a hand over his chest, slowly leaning in closer.

"...!"

Axel could tell what she wanted to do, but his arms were still numb and unable to move. Furthermore, he wasn't sure if dodging would even be the correct answer here.

Before he could reconcile his conscience and desire, Eve's lips overlapped with his in a brief, playful kiss. The next moment, her body sprang back, hand over her lips, her face burning even redder.

"T-That's my good morning kiss!" she shouted, her voice an octave higher than usual. "T-Then, I'll head out first...!" And she ran off after saying that.

Axel could only watch as her bubbly butt waved at him before vanishing past the door.

"Hmm...?"

Teruria, who wasn't a morning person, saw this lovely exchange and...

"Me too..."

Dove right in.

But unlike Eve's, hers was a lot more aggressive, more forceful. They had just woken up, and Axel's body was about to "wake up" too!

"Coming in, Sir Axel!"

With perfect timing, a figure entered, holding what looked like a stack of papers—Arianne.

"Regarding last night's defense—"

She began, then paused.

She saw the little witch on top of Axel, with their lips locked together. In a split second, she bowed and backed away.

"Pardon my intrusion. It seems you're busy at the moment. I'll return in five minutes, Sir Axel."

Axel quickly moved Teruria off him and shouted, "Ah! Wait...!"

But it was already too late.

Arianne had already closed the door behind her and left.
