Alaric was startled out of his sleep. Everyone had been so quiet from the start, he had fallen asleep unknowingly.

His first experience on a private jet and he slept through it. Alaric looked around at the others. He could see they had all fallen asleep. Maybe he had infected them, he thought in amusement.

" We're here already, that was faster than normal," John said.

" You slept through the whole thing, of course, you won't notice, " Snow said while tying her hair into a bun.

The plane landed and Alaric and the others stepped out. The heat was bearable at best for awakened people, but for normal people, it wasn't. He could now understand why it wasn't peak season.

There were still a lot of people in the airport despite the harsh weather. It took them a while to go through the security checks before leaving the airport.

Awakened had their own checking area with security also being awakeners, this was probably for the safety of the normal people. With how self centered awakeners we, re Alaric would bet they hit a security guard once in a while.

" Where the fuck is the car?" Sacrat said into the phone his voice was getting more irritated.

Going through the airport had been a breeze for them but now they didn't have a car. They were standing outside with the heat wrapping around them uncomfortably.

" What's the hold? This heat is fucking annoying," John the ever talkative said while running his hand through his hair.

People had started to stare and point at them as they walked by. He could see a few cameras pointed at them.

" Do you think I'm enjoying this," Sacrat said also irritated," these fools didn't organize themselves."

" Then you should have confirmed beforehand, you're part of this whole fucking mess," John retorted. Sacrat walked in front of him.

" Are you trying to start a fight right now. You're really getting on my nerves right now. "

" Ooh ye, ah let's fucking fight just because you are chammy with the guild master it doesn't mean I can't beat the crap out of you," John retorted.

" O, oh I'm chammy with him funny, I seem to have forgotten I came with a guild masters baby brother who's now crying,Sacrat said getting into John's face.

Alaric looked around at the others but they all acted as though they weren't present. The two were almost on the verge of fighting but they didn't move.

" Just ignore them, it's not the first time," snow whispered to Alaric. She was sitting on her suitcase filling her nails.

Alaric had thought Sacrat was a perfect gentleman but he seemed to have turned childish in front of John.

From the looks of it John was the guild masters brother and they clearly didn't get along since both of them were associated with the guild master.

" You're gaining too much attention," Hailey said as she started to pull her suitcase to the taxi area," Let's just take taxis I'm not standing here like a spectacle."

Alaric wasn't one to wait, he followed her right after, people around them were increasing because of the commotion caused by the two.

They were about to flag the first taxi when a limo pulled up right in front of them. Alaric rolled his eyes.

" About time," Hailey said and opened the door leaving her suitcase outside. Alaric turned to see the others also walking towards them.

The driver got out of the car and took the suitcases.

Alaric entered the car and took the seat next to the fridge. The air conditioner had been installed near the fridge so it was the coolest place. He opened the fridge and took out two bottles of water.

" Want one?" He asked Hailey who was sitting opposite him.

"Yeah, I'm thirsty. Travelling with those two is always a disaster if one is not trying to kill the other then it's messes all over if there is no fight. If I wasn't forced to come here, I would have gone to another dungeon," she rumbled clearly frustrated as she drank the water.

Alaric the good listener he nodded along as she complained about the trip. It had been her schedule vacation which she had been looking forward to for four months and Sacrat pulled her out of her home that morning and brought her with him.

Alaric felt a bit sorry for the woman but he was also glad he was self employed. It seemed that working in a guild was the same as working in coprate.

" ...hey what are you guys talking about, don't listen to her lies her vacation ended yesterday. She's looking for pity," snowy came in and sat next to Alaric.

" Why do you always cut me off?" Hailey turned to snowy .

" Don't you get tired of playing victim to men you bitch," snowy retorted.

Alaric looked between the two of them. He really did feel sorry for the Hailey before he got slapped in the face by snowy.

Sacrat and the team he had assembled was really ecentric .

The remaining three came and sat down closing the door forcefully. Alaric passed each of them a bottle of water before leaning back and watched their interractions. They seem to really get along with each other with no trouble.

" Ooh Alaric,Sacrat told us you didn't want to join our guild? Is it because you got a better offer from another guild cause to tell you the truth we're pretty good if not the best in the federation, " John asked.

Since he was the guild masters brother he probably took the guild as his home and seeing someone reject them was probably unheard of.

Everyone turned to look at him. Alaric glanced at Sactrat who was not meeting his eyes.

From the looks of the team seemed to be living under a rock if they haven't heard of him. He wasn't being narsistic but he knew he had truly become famous.

Not enough to be a household name but he could at least be recognized by the majority.

" I prefer self employment."

" Seriously that's way too limiting since you won't be able to get resources that easily, " John said his voice a tad bit dramatic .

" I can access resources well and I prefer working on my own schedule."

" That's ridiculous, most awakened with no guild always fade away, " John retorted.

"I fall under the success stories. "

" You're really cocky you know that right? " Snowy interjected .

" I don't think so, I'm just confident in myself."

" Seems cocky to me. Being confident and over confident are two different things and you are over confident," John said.

Alaric felt like the conversation was pointless,there was no point going on but he was enjoying it a little too much.

" What makes you think I'm over confident. You've built your own image of how awakened with no guild should live . In this case you guys have this God complex , thinking you are saving the guildless awakened from doom or wasting their talent but from the looks of it you only choose the best in the bunch and throw out the rest."

" That's not true, if someone isn't talented you just can't force a talent. Of course we choose the best how do you think we grew, " John said completely missing the point.

The conversation was pointless, Alaric thought. But it was really a good way to kill time since the car ride to their hotel was almost an hour away.

" If you had come to me when I started out, I could have joined you but right now, I can support myself really well," Alaric said.

He opened the fridge and took out a bottle of wine and picked up two glasses.

He gave one to John who took it without question and poured wine in .

He poured some for himself before looking at the others but none of them asked for it. He put it back in the fridge.What's your rank? If you don't mind me asking?" Alaric said.

" B class just like you but my brother is an S class,"John said his voice proud. Alaric nodded.

" What do you do for a living or are you a nepo baby that why you can support yourself with all the resources ?" John asked still not over that fact.

" I sell myself to rich women. I'm a sugar baby," Alaric said looking at Johns disbelieving eyes in amusement.

John laughed loudly.

" I Know you love to joke but tell me the truth seriously, I could adopt some of your strategy so that I could stop depending on my brother for at least a week. Tell..."

" He's telling the truth," Sacrat said cutting off John.

" You're serious!" Hailey exclaimed.

" Yap, that's my job," Alaric admitted proudly. He really enjoyed their faces.

" So.." John started.

The car came to a stop.

" We're here," Ruby cut John off. She had been through the whole journey just looking at them speak.

Finally, I thought we were never going to arrive, Alaric thought.
