Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 33: Another White Core User?

"Boom!" Amon's voice echoed with a laugh.

This was the most terrifying aspect of the Heaven Rendering Technique.

What did it mean to render the heavens helpless?

It was to drain the heavens and use their attack for yourself.

Damien felt his divine energy draining at an alarming rate and as it drained, the purple sword light expanded and expanded.

'This is bad… this can destroy the academy.' Damien's face grew unsightly upon sensing what the Heaven Rendering Technique was doing.

He didn't want to do it previously, but he had no choice.

Without hesitation he removed his second hand from his pocket and poured his divine energy into the attack.

A ripple spread outwards as the attack began receding.

Thinning out gradually, the attack finally disappeared.

The situation on stage was revealed to everyone.

Damien was still in the same position with his hands exactly where they had been when he cancelled out the Heaven Rendering Technique.

He raised his dark eyes to meet Amon and Amon noticed that rather than anger, his eyes were filled with excitement.

"That attack… what an attack. I truly didn't expect it, you've surprised me. One hundred points. You gain full marks in this examination… what a monster." Damien's excited voice was hard to suppress and for a moment Amon wondered if he had gone mad from the attack.

It took a few seconds before Damien finally calmed himself.

Turning to Amon, he smiled while casually waving as he walked off the stage.

"I would really love to meet you at the academy kid. I've taken a liking to you, and you can come meet me for anything… it seems just like me, you've discovered the secrets of a white core huh?"

Amon heard a voice enter his mind, one only he could hear.

It was as if a bolt of lightning had struck him.

'You mean…' Amon whispered grimly.

"Of course. My core is white… whiter than ever…" Damien's voice was filled with amusement and it only caused Amon's heartbeat to pound even louder.

His eyes widened as he scanned around, shocked to realize that Damien was nowhere to be seen.

He had most likely gone to one of the ships to sleep.

'A white core… his core is white?'

Amon finally recalled the strange feeling he had the moment their gazes met.

Just like Amon, the man had a weak presence.

It was a presence that stemmed from having a white celestial core, one that made others subconsciously think of you as weak.

But…

Recalling how strong he was, Amon's eyes filled with excitement and… puzzlement.

'Didn't the Primordial Dragon say that they eliminated whoever comprehended the technique? In that case, it can't possibly be the one he thinks I used.'

'Then… did he also think of my technique?'

'Or create a new one entirely.' Amon's excitement was hard to suppress.

He had to meet Damien.

And he had to do so fast.

Unfortunately, he couldn't for now. But with two hundred points, he had enough to enter the academy so there was nothing to be worried about.

Many thoughts flashed through Amon's mind as he silently stepped down from the stage.

The shock lasted for a while before the head instructor finally cleared his throat and addressed the crowd.

"The second stage of the entrance examination has concluded. The third stage is simple."

"You will be assessed based on the color of your core. From the weakest white where you can obtain one point to the highest orange where you can access full marks."

As soon as the instructor finished speaking, a crystal ball rose into the air.

The crystal ball was pitch black and just like before, a holographic display appeared above the arena.

"You will need to place your hand on the orb for it to detect the state of your core. After that, your score will be recorded into the display above."

Hearing the explanation, the students nodded.

With that said, the instructor waved his hand for the group to approach the orb one after another.

'A single point.' Amon lamented at his fate internally.

'It seems my smooth sailing ride has come to an end.' Amon wasn't too disappointed.

At least he had displayed enough strength.

In life, the color of one's core didn't matter.

What mattered was one's gift and true strength.

'Unfortunately, it seems none of these people are aware of this fact except me… and Damien.'

Since this was the last entrance examination test and the one that would decide the fate of the students, the line quickly formed.

The students didn't hesitate and approached the stage with brisk steps.

Before long a youth stepped onto the stage.

He placed his hand on the pitch black orb and it glowed with a black light before shifting in color.

The orb quickly became light yellow.

Then the score was displayed.

[35 points]

Seeing the score, silent tears of happiness trickled down the corners of the boy's eyes.

After the previous examinations he had only one hundred fifteen points and needed just this much to finally make his family proud.

Fortunately, he made it.

The kid's smile was hard to suppress.

In his joy he hastily hopped off the stage, a feeling of pride settling over him.

Meanwhile another student climbed onto the stage.

Before long more than three hundred youths had taken their turns.

Finally, Natasha stepped onto the stage with graceful motion.

Placing her delicate hand on the orb, it radiated faint warmth before glowing a bright orange.

Her score was quickly displayed.

[90 points]

After her, Mei Aiko stepped forward in her sexy one piece dress.

Upon reaching the middle of the stage she didn't hesitate to place her hand on the orb while glancing up.

[90 points]

'Tsk.' Mei Aiko clicked her tongue.

"I was expecting higher."

With an angry pout she descended the stage.

A few more people went up, each getting varying amounts of points.

Carmen also went up and obtained ninety points like the others.

Then, after about ten more people, surprisingly Helena also stepped forward.

Helena glanced at the orb, then placed her slender hand atop it.

A blinding orange glow with faint hints of red erupted and her score appeared across the holographic screen.

[100 points]

"She actually got full marks?" someone from the crowd exclaimed.

"Her core… it's showing signs of becoming red." Ripples of shock spread through the spectators.

In the meantime Helena casually stepped off the stage, then glanced at Amon through the corner of her eye.

'It's that strange look again.' Amon was speechless.

Did the girl have a crush on him or something?

Not bothering with the thought, he waited for a few more people before finally it was his turn.

'Well then, here goes nothing.' Amon cheered himself internally, already knowing his fate.

He walked toward the orb briskly, hesitated for a moment, then placed his hand on it.

The orb's dim light pulsed briefly and the crowd held its breath, eager to see what color of core the person who had scored full marks earlier possessed.

Some had already begun guessing that Amon's core was red.

After all, why wouldn't it be?

To their astonishment, a white light spread from the orb, illuminating the surroundings.
