Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 34: Goodbye Mom... Dad...

To their astonishment, a white light spread from the orb, illuminating the surroundings.

Subconsciously, everyone moved their gaze toward the screen above where Amon's score was displayed.

[1 point.]

Bewilderment swept through the crowd.

"A white core? He's a white core?"

Recalling Amon's previous attack, everyone found it hard to believe.

Even the head instructor stared at Amon intensely for a moment.

However, he knew the orb couldn't be wrong.

Amon's core was truly white.

Strangely, his core was the only white one among this set of students.

Glancing toward a small ship not too far away, he narrowed his eyes.

The same scene from many years ago was playing out.

A boy with a white core had dominated the entrance examination back then.

Feeling that things might not be exactly the same this time, the head instructor pushed the thought to the back of his mind.

With that, the number of students was reduced once more.

About two hundred students failed to reach the required one hundred fifty points, bringing the number down to two hundred ninety three.

"With everything concluded," he addressed the two hundred ninety three freshers, "I officially welcome you to the Behemoth Academy. Here we strive to achieve greatness while also maintaining as much peace as our strength allows us to."

After saying a few more words, he shifted his attention to those who had failed the entrance examination.

There was not much emotion in his voice as he spoke.

"The rest of you. Don't underestimate yourselves. There is no useless gift, only weak and useless gifted ones. Continue striving to increase your strength. Along the way you will realize there are many paths to choose from. The academy is simply the easiest available."

His words comforted a few youths, though many others still showed reluctant eyes.

After delivering his speech, the instructor ordered some teachers to lead the ones who had failed back toward the spaceship.

"You can bid your final farewell to your loved ones in the meantime before we finally head for the academy." With that, the head instructor walked back to his seat and casually waited for everything to finish.

The freshers hurriedly went to greet any loved ones who had been able to come with them.

Of course, most of the students stood alone on the steel grounds, since many had not come with their parents.

Amon could also hear silent sobs reaching his ears.

Some youths were even wailing as they were dragged back into the ship.

Amon felt slightly melancholic deep inside, but steeling himself, he approached his parents with a smile.

A proud expression rested on Vela's face as she watched Amon walking toward them.

Grinning, she pinched his cheek playfully.

"You brat. To think you hid so much of your strength from us…"

"Ow, ow…" Amon winced and hurried to explain, "I wanted to give you guys a surprise and ace all the examinations. I just didn't expect the last one…"

Hearing his disheartened tone, Vela's expression softened warmly.

"We're proud of you, Amon." She ruffled his hair gently.

Amon felt slightly embarrassed, especially with people his age watching the affectionate display.

But remembering that this would be the last time he saw his parents in a long while, he knew he couldn't brush off the moment.

For the first time, he would truly walk his path alone.

Seth stared at Amon deeply once he and his mother were done idly chatting.

"I trust you can handle yourself, but I'd like to give you a single piece of advice that'll keep you alive for longer."

Since his father sounded so serious, Amon's expression turned solemn. He listened with rapt attention, ready to etch his father's words into his mind.

"Remember to always be shameless."

Seth finally said it, leaving Amon completely dumbfounded.

But when he saw Vela nodding with a serious expression, he was speechless.

They were truly serious.

"Are you guys for real?" Amon raised a curious brow.

"Of course," Seth exclaimed. "Only by shamelessly living can you survive the longest. I've seen others walk the path of pride or humility and still die halfway. I'm telling you son, shamelessness is the way."

Seth patted Amon's shoulder lightly.

"Okay, dad, I get it." Amon rolled his eyes.

Still, he kept his father's words close.

'Being shameless huh?' Amon didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

But if it would keep him alive, he didn't mind it.

"That's good!" Seth broke into a smile.

Following that, their conversation slowly wrapped up after a few more minutes.

Amon could sense the reluctance in his mother's gaze as the final moments approached.

He felt a little depressed too.

After spending fifteen years with the couple, he had truly considered them his parents and cared for them more than anything else in the world.

Suddenly separating from them…

"Remember to ensure your safety at all times, son. With your gift, it shouldn't be impossible. And don't simp for a lady… I gave birth to you with all your father's charm and handsomeness, along with my beauty, so don't allow any lady treat you any less."

"Get a friend or two while you're at it. I'd like you to visit us with them."

"Most importantly," Vela's eyes hardened, "get a girlfriend or two while you can. I recall your father chasing after me while at the academy all those years ago…"

Seth's face turned red in embarrassment. "That… didn't happen."

Vela ignored him and continued. "I have two candidates for you. You see that Helena girl… ensure you capture her heart. Just look at her. Moreover, she's the princess."

"Mother!" Amon's expression twisted into something extremely weird.

He hadn't expected his mother to ramble this much.

In his past life he didn't have the chance to date anyone, so the thought of having a girlfriend sounded cool… but he didn't feel it was time for him now.

If that were the case, he and Peculiar would have long since become a thing.

Vela finally paused and sighed dramatically.

Amon smiled slyly and asked, "Err, who's the second lady?"

Vela burst into laughter and Seth could hardly keep a straight face at the banter between mother and son.

Goodbye, Mom... Dad..

"It's a hard choice between that girl Natasha and Mei Aiko. Just try both of them and see which one works out best. And don't mind the fact that she's blind. I'm telling you it's only due to her gift. It made her blind."

"She's a beauty not inferior to Helena. I still prefer Helena more… the way she looks at you, I can tell she's interested."

Amon chuckled at her words but didn't take them to heart.

As long as it interfered with his growth, Amon would rather not indulge in such things.

After a few more casual chats, it was just Amon, his parents, and a few others left.

"Take care of yourself, baby." Vela said, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

She pulled Amon into a hug and kissed his cheeks.

Amon's face turned bright red.

He was in such an embarrassing situation.

Fortunately, it ended moments later.

Seth handed Amon something resembling a jade orb.

"If you encounter a danger from someone you feel is impossible to defeat, crush this." He handed Amon the jade orb, then offered a second item. "As for this… I had to get it because you've been on my neck for a long time."

Amon glanced at it and realized it was a universe ring.

Warmth flooded his heart.

"Thanks dad!" Amon truly felt cherished.

He clenched his fist, his voice filled with ambition and conviction.

"Don't worry dad, mom, I promise to become as strong as possible."
