Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 40: Comprehending A Visualisation Art 2

Subconsciously turning around, he noticed Damien looking at him with a deadpan look.

For the first time his face was filled with a terrifying gloom…

"Err, sorry?" Amon tried to compose himself and hastily pushed all his thoughts to the back of his mind.

Damien stared at him with a blank look on his face and the tension between them heightened.

He stood up, causing Amon's heart to skip a beat.

Did he cross the line in some way?

Just when Amon thought he was going to be reprimanded, or punished in some way, Damien's face took a drastic turn.

Lighting up with excitement, he asked curiously.

"It's interesting, right? This was written by the first human to form a bond with a celestial dragon! The first human to ever walk the divine path."

Damien rubbed his forehead, as though the excitement flowing through him was too great to be contained.

"His gift is unfathomable, but it was only because of him that the humans of that era were able to survive the onslaught of both demon beasts and star beasts."

Hearing the explanation, Amon was dumbfounded.

His expression was filled with confusion…and surprise.

"The first human to ever walk the divine path?"

Just thinking about it alone, it sounded grand!

"Is he dead?" Amon recalled something and couldn't help asking.

"After dealing with the crisis humanity was facing, he vanished, and there have been no records of him since then," Damien appeared saddened by his statement, "there are even those who believe he didn't exist in the first place, however…"

Damien held up the paper in Amon's hand.

"I'm certain that only someone who's attained true strength will begin asking questions like this."

Amon nodded dazedly, also thinking the same thing.

Changing the topic he asked, "You're researching him?"

Damien chuckled lightheartedly, "Something like that."

He placed the paper on his desk.

"I managed to obtain this piece of paper at a great cost. It's said it's one of the scriptures he left behind before his sudden disappearance."

Amon raised a brow in bewilderment, staring at Damien strangely.

"And you're certain of its authenticity?"

"What do you know, brat?" Damien flared up in anger, feeling that Amon was indirectly calling him 'dumb.'

"Only the smart ones can recognise the authenticity of a tool. Go sit down. Lesson will begin shortly," Damien explained, then changed the topic.

Amon laughed internally, and had a vague feeling that Damien had been cheated.

But there was still a part of him that was filled with confusion.

'Unfettered one…'

It didn't sound like a name someone would just scheme about.

The name alone sounded like someone who had gone through a path of…

Solitude and loneliness.

'Being the first one to walk the divine path… how long had he been walking before revealing it to the world?'

'How lonely must he have been?'

Many thoughts surged through Amon's mind like a tide and for an instant he felt pity for the man.

SNAP! SNAP!

Damien stood in front of the board and snapped his fingers repeatedly to gain Amon's attention.

"What are you thinking, brat? I've been calling you for a long time! If you want to gain anything from the classes today you better pay attention. Otherwise, go back to the dorms and sleep."

"Sorry." Amon regained his composure and apologised.

Damien shrugged then moved his hand to the board.

Unsurprisingly, it was a chalkboard.

"I've never taught before so I'll just teach you whatever comes to mind," Damien casually said as he paced around.

Then his eyes lit up and he turned to Amon and asked, "Were you thinking about the visualisation art?"

"Visualisation art?" Amon was confused.

"Aha!" Damien grinned before explaining, "The visualisation art is a form of battle art. You should know what battle arts are; it's what you used against me during the entrance test."

"Visualisation art is a method of seeing the state of one's core. Of course it requires a high level of comprehension to master. Since it isn't taught in the academy you shouldn't teach it to anyone."

"Oh." Amon was pleasantly surprised.

His instructor actually seemed… capable?

"Impressive, right?" Damien smirked.

"It was created by yours truly!" Damien gave Amon a look as though he was expecting some sort of praise.

Meanwhile, Amon rolled his eyes then clicked his tongue before exaggeratedly praising.

"Wow! Really? That's… truly incredible! Not even other instructors can boast of creating a battle art—"

"It's alright." Damien stroked his chin in satisfaction, "I wonder how they feel being incompetent."

Amon couldn't help rolling his eyes once more at Damien's shamelessness.

"Well then, back to the explanation of the technique. It's pretty simple actually. All you need to do is infuse your eyes with divine energy; using this divine energy you can see a variety of things, like the state of one's core, seeing through some illusions and so on."

"Of course all this is on the premise that you're stronger than the ones who used the gift."

"Okay," Amon nodded.

At the same time he was also impressed at the thought.

He had never even thought of infusing primordial energy into his eyes.

"This is a delicate process," seeing that Amon was about to try it out Damien stopped him halfway then explained.

"Ensure you start slow and gradually infuse the little organs in your eyes with divine energy. As you continuously practice it your speed in the visualisation art will increase. This art is extremely helpful because it can help you ascertain the ranks of demon beasts and star beasts much more easily."

"It's that impressive?" Amon was surprised.

"What did you expect?" Damien smugly glanced at Amon.

"Well, then, that's all for classes today. Start comprehending the visualisation art."

Speechless, Amon nodded then sat at his seat and began communicating with his primordial energy.

His primordial energy flowed through the network of primordial veins spread throughout his body, connecting to all his cores.

Thankfully, Amon already had a core positioned in his head so the process was much smoother than normal.

His thoughts went to the core in his head with two more cores within.

Gradually, primordial energy flowed out from the core and spread into the air.

The primordial energy was extremely mysterious and radiated a profound presence.

Amon felt a cooling sensation on his eyes as he moved the primordial energy about.

Recalling Natasha, Amon was extremely careful about the process.

Slowly he moved the primordial energy from the network of veins spreading out to his body through the veins emerging from the core in his head.

Then, he willed the primordial energy to his eyes.

The cooling sensation on his eyes lasted for a long while before Amon felt his vision changing.

Despite his eyes being shut tight Amon felt a mysterious energy there that could allow him to faintly see glimpses of light.

Damien, who was busying himself, was dumbfounded upon noticing the change in Amon.

His eyes rose and he shot up to his feet.

'Damn… this…' he was stupefied internally.

Counting on his fingers he mouthed, "It took me about ten days to master the technique!"

Suddenly Damien thought of something and facepalmed.

"That's right. Back then I had to create the technique all by myself otherwise it would have taken me at most a few minutes if someone had taught me."

"Right. There's also the fact that I'm pretty much the greatest teacher in the academy." Damien nodded to himself proudly.

Amon was privileged to be in the 'mediocre' class!

Meanwhile, feeling some changes to his vision, Amon gradually opened his eyes.

… and was stunned by what he saw.

Because Amon cultivated primordial energy rather than divine energy, the changes to his visualisation art were a little… different.
