Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 50: Forgotten Land Of Gods — Climbing Towers

The tension in the room heightened as the ten instructors stared at Damien with killing intent.

Amon felt the pressure spike to a point where even breathing became difficult and he was gradually starting to suffocate under the thick weight in the air.

"Hehe," Damien laughed with a shrug.

Instantly, Amon felt the pressure vanish like drifting mist.

"Which of you want me to check if your faces are still soft?" Damien raised his right hand and stared at the instructors, causing them to flinch slightly in fear.

On the side, Amon watched the whole display in amazement.

And to think… this was merely Damien's clone.

If it was his main body, would the instructors even survive a single slap?

Many thoughts flickered through Amon's mind as he stared at Damien's laid back expression.

"It's a minor misunderstanding," Damien said with a smile. "My disciple understands his mistake and will try not to repeat it. Okay?"

All eleven instructors glared at Damien and one of them mustered the courage to speak up:

"DAMIEN! Where do you place the school rules? You better cripple your dis—" before he could finish…

SLAP!

A resounding slap echoed, and the instructor who had been speaking crashed heavily against the wall beside the previous one, embedding himself with a loud bang.

Damien turned to the remaining instructors. "I said it was a misunderstanding, okay?"

He stared at them curiously, then added with hidden meaning, "Does anyone have a problem with my words?"

The instructors fell silent and could only nod.

However, Amon noticed a few glances drifting his way.

Giving them a similarly casual smile, Amon shrugged.

"Hehe. It's good that we understand each other so well," Damien laughed heartily. "This is why we've been friends for so long."

Ignoring them, he turned to Amon. "Kid. It seems you weren't disciplined enough."

"I heard you only cut off the arms of two second year students. During my time, I dealt with all of them simultaneously, even almost killing them in one attack…" Damien wrapped his hand around Amon's neck and dragged him away.

Left in the office, the instructors' lips twitched repeatedly as they glared hatefully at the two.

Unfortunately, they couldn't do anything.

With aggrieved expressions, they could only glance at each other before two instructors went to help the ones embedded in the wall.

"So? You're impressed, right?" Damien asked Amon as they finally reached the 'mediocre' class.

Amon nodded with a delighted expression. However, a look of puzzlement appeared on his face.

"Since you're so strong, why are you stationed in the mediocre class?"

Damien opened the door and stepped inside, his faint voice echoing.

"I chose to come here myself so I could pass my knowledge to someone with a white core."

He paused slightly, then said with some seriousness, "There are secrets to having a white core. Ones that can't be explained normally, but stick around long enough and I'll explain it all to you. Hehe."

Amon was bewildered.

Another question popped into his mind. "In that case, why don't you go to the outside world and gather children with white cores? Staying here and waiting for someone is… well, not the wisest decision."

Damien chuckled lightly.

"At age five, after bonding with a celestial dragon, one's core is formed and the color is deep white. However, the state of the core is unstable, and they have to stabilize it for the next ten years. During this time, ninety nine percent of people's cores will mutate to a higher gradient color.

"Finding that one percent is too difficult and I can't be bothered to do all that work. Nonetheless," Damien smirked, "since you're here, my search is over."

Amon fell slightly speechless staring at Damien.

'Of course, with his laziness he won't bother going through all that trouble,' Amon lampooned internally.

"In one month we'll be heading to the Forgotten Land of Gods, so in that time do your best to grow as strong as possible. The place is pretty perilous."

"Forgotten Land of Gods?" Amon asked in confusion.

"Yeah. There are a few things I need to get from there. Even I am not certain of the survival of my clone upon going there."

"Can I not go?" Amon asked tentatively.

Damien shrugged. "There are benefits to going there. Moreover, I need someone to accompany me."

Amon fell silent for a moment before asking, "Like an artifact?"

"Hmm? You know about artifacts?" Damien suddenly smacked his forehead. "I forgot to teach you about that."

Amon's mouth twitched as he rolled his eyes internally. 'Yeah right.'

Noticing Amon's look, Damien coughed and explained, "Yes, there are artifacts there. Quite a lot, in fact. Speaking of artifacts… hehe…"

Damien suddenly gave his signature evil laugh and Amon felt a bad premonition forming.

"I know where you can get an artifact sword. I noticed your sword has some chips on it, showing that the material it was crafted with is too poor."

Although Amon had a bad feeling, he still asked:

"Where can I find the artifact?"

"Do you really want to know? If you're not interested, you can forget—"

Amon cut him off with a shrug. "Just get on with it, instructor."

"Okay," Damien nodded. "There's an artifact in the challenge tower."

"What's that?" Amon asked curiously.

"If you head toward the Behemoth Towers, you'll find a challenge tower. It's said that there are a few treasures hidden within its depths."

"Getting to level ten in a single run will give you an artifact."

"Hmmm?" Amon raised a brow. "I've never seen any Behemoth Tower around."

"That's because it's underground. It's just called a tower because there are many levels to it," Damien explained smoothly.

"Oh," Amon nodded in deep thought.

"Then why is no one clearing the tower if there are rewards?"

"Of course no one bothers to waste their time. To clear the tower, you have to spend contribution points to climb each level, and the points become astronomical the higher you go."

"Oh. In that case I can't climb it anytime soon." Amon looked a little disappointed.

However, Damien flicked his hand, tossing him something.

"Here, it's my jade plaque. You can use it as much as you want. I can regain it whenever I want. The artifact there is high grade and cannot be bought with contribution points. It'll be helpful if you're coming with me to the Forgotten Land of Gods."

"Okay," Amon finally sighed, knowing Damien would force him to come regardless.

Since his strength could increase by obtaining the sword, he might as well…

He collected the jade plaque from Damien.

"Come. I'll take you to the place," Damien said with a confident smile.

With that, the two of them left the mediocre class.

Stepping outside, Amon noticed the quiet grounds and could hear the distant voices of instructors lecturing the students.

Amon didn't know whether to laugh or cry at his situation.

'Others are busy learning and following rigid protocols while I and Damien have barely had any reasonable lesson.'

Still, Amon couldn't deny he preferred this casual method of class where Damien would teach him whenever he felt like it.

Already used to the rigid method back on Earth, he was bored of it.

'An artifact huh…' Amon mused internally, wondering what it would look like and what effects it might bring him.
