The group outside counted more than three flashes of bright light.
And the faces of the instructors widened further in shock at each successive glow of light.
For six lights to have brightened, it could only mean that Amon had reached the seventh level now.
The seventh level.
It was truly a high level despite the number seeming small.
Recalling that Amon was just at the white core, the eyes of the instructors couldn't help drifting to Damien occasionally and then back to the direction of the star gate.
In their hearts, they began making simple deductions and connections.
Damien shrugged nonchalantly, feeling their intimidated gazes on him, giving them a smug look like he'd expected the whole thing.
Silence reigned among the crowd as they held their breaths, waiting for the tenth light to surface.
…
Meanwhile, inside the unique space, Amon flicked his sword after successfully passing the sixth level.
His face no longer held its usual calmness and was instead filled with a strange sense of caution.
He shifted his attention toward the portal in front of him.
It was now more than a few meters wide, and the pressure it exuded was far deadlier than ever before.
Tightening his grip on his sword, Amon watched as silhouettes stepped out from the portal.
His eyes showed a look of surprise.
The creatures in front of him didn't look like the lions he had been facing before.
In the previous fight he'd dealt with more than 300 peak blood spawns.
In that fight, Amon finally exhausted four of his cores, leaving him with just eight.
However, he felt he could still hold on.
Giants? Amon glanced at the silhouettes emerging from the portal that spanned a few meters.
The creatures inside finally stepped into the light and revealed themselves to him.
They looked like giants.
Humanoid monsters that towered more than twice Amon's height.
They loomed over him like behemoths.
And the devastating pressure of star beasts at the fiend core realm crashed onto him heavily.
One… two… three. Amon's gaze swept through the portal, and noting that only three stepped out, he finally exhaled in relief.
His eyes stared in bewilderment at the three giants in front of him.
Although their eyes were blank white, Amon could feel their gazes fixed on him.
It was as though they possessed some sort of intelligence.
Amon frowned briefly, but he didn't panic internally.
Staring intently at the giants, the tension in the air seemed to heighten drastically.
Bang.
Finally, unable to hold himself back any longer, one of the giants took a big step forward.
The stage beneath the giant's feet sank in like sand and the next moment the giant was in front of Amon.
So fast? Amon's pupils shrank instantly, not expecting the giant's massive body to move that quickly.
The giant's fist descended upon him like a war hammer.
The air around Amon let out a sonic boom.
The destructive force and speed behind the attack left him unable to react in time.
He could only watch as the attack crashed heavily toward him.
Struggling to save himself, he raised his sword to clash with the massive fist.
Clang.
The sound of metal echoed and Amon was flung wildly like a ragdoll, skidding more than half the length of the whole stage.
Fuck, Amon cursed as he spat out a mouthful of blood rolling in his insides.
Hearing another resonating bang, Amon hastily wiped the corner of his mouth as his primordial energy surged wildly through his body.
Swoosh.
The giant who had reached Amon's location in the blink of an eye glanced around in puzzlement.
The other two giants also stared across the whole stage, searching for where Amon was.
Had Amon given up so soon?
Not feeling the tug on their soul, they knew Amon had to be present somewhere.
But they were unable to pinpoint his location, which was very bad for them.
The three immediately put on an alert expression, however—
Swish.
A faint shadow drifted by and in the next instant the sound of a sword howl resounded across the stage.
Clang.
Amon's figure was revealed to one of the giants, and the look on his face was filled with shock.
Amon's sword was embedded deep into the limb of the massive giant and it couldn't budge an inch.
Feeling the wind rustling behind him, Amon instantly used his second gift.
Blue flames spread throughout the giant's body in an instant.
Then the flames gradually solidified, freezing the giant in place.
This was another property of the icy flame.
Not only could the blue flames burn his enemies, they could also flip in the opposite direction of temperature and freeze his foes.
Amon could feel the giant struggling and through the corner of his eye he sensed the other giants making their moves.
He knew he didn't have much time left.
His mind raced at lightning speed as he tried to come up with something.
Right. A new potion. Amon's eyes lit up and without hesitation a unique creation began forming in his mind.
[Detected a unique potion called the beast slaying potion. Please note that one drop of this potion can kill a star beast.]
[Rank is set to d by default. Using a drop will take a while to activate and might not activate at all if the bloodline of the beast is too strong.]
[Do you wish to proceed with creation? This creation will cost 100 creation points.]
Amon quickly read through the runes, which took barely a few seconds, and gave the order immediately.
A potion appeared in his hand.
A drop? Amon sneered and opened the lid of the potion before…
Pouring the whole thing into the injured, frozen arm of the giant.
At the same time he felt the other two arrive.
Without hesitation, he jumped off the giant's arm and tumbled rapidly through the air.
One of the giants swatted its arm at him like it wanted to crush a fly, but Amon's speed was far greater.
Dodging lightly, he escaped the attack with ease.
He soon landed safely on the stage, though his sword remained embedded in the giant.
Amon raised his eyes toward the giant.
The giant stood frozen for a few seconds before suddenly convulsing and tilting to the side.
Boom.
Dust spread through the location as the giant collapsed heavily onto the ground.
Amon wiped the corner of his mouth with a grin and turned to the other two.
Their eyes lingered briefly on their fallen comrade before shifting back to Amon with startling intensity.
Amon could tell the beasts were about to get serious with him.
But it didn't matter much.
A unique creation appeared in his mind.
[Do you wish to create a unique sword? Please note it has properties of the beast slaying potion embedded in it.]
[Rank is set to d by default. It is required to leave this sword inside the body of the creature for a few minutes to complete its kill.]
[Do you wish to proceed with creation? This creation will cost 150 creation points.]
Reading through the runes, Amon quickly agreed internally.
Instantly, a pitch black sword appeared in his hand.
There seemed to be traces of wriggling snakes on the surface of the blade.
It looked as though the snakes had come alive and were struggling to break free.
One would think it was over but…
Swoosh. Swoosh. Swoosh.
Five blades appeared in Amon's hand in an instant.
In barely moments more than 700 creation points had been spent.
Then Amon's thoughts moved again at lightning speed.
[Detected a new gift: metal control. Do you wish to proceed with creation?]
[Rank is set to d by default. This creation will cost 150 creation points.]
Amon agreed internally and a new gift appeared in his arsenal.
It was his fifth gift.
Amon raised his gaze to meet the two giants who were starting to approach his location.
"Hey guys…" Amon called out with a chuckle, "have you tasted blades before?"
As he finished speaking, the six swords in his hand trembled before levitating into the air.
Amon felt a unique consciousness appear in his mind as though he could control the blades like extensions of his own limbs.
At first it was slightly difficult to control them, but with the pressure on him, Amon quickly grasped the handling.
Instantly, a sharp sword howl tore through the air and all six blades flew at lightning speed, striking precise locations on the star beasts.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
A resounding sound echoed as the blades embedded into the bodies of the star beasts and the beast slaying potion inside them began flowing out freely.
The beasts stiffened, and just as they tried to remove the blades, a blue glow spread across their bodies.
At first they felt a searing wave of heat before a chill crept through them and their limbs froze mid motion.
If even gods can die what more giants? Amon muttered internally as he watched the two giants slowly drain of their lives.
Hastily, a white light spread through him, healing him.
At the same time his mind moved at lightning speed.
He had finally come up with a method of dealing with group attacks.
Within a few seconds more than ten swords materialized and Amon used his metal control gift to shift them around the portal.
Then, from within the portal, creatures started emerging…
