Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 69: Mysterious Coin

"You two children! What do you think you are doing?"

The moment Amon and Helena clashed, a loud, tired voice cut through the air.

Amon was momentarily stupefied.

Hearing the voice, his movements paused, and Helena stalled as well.

Together, they turned in the direction of the old lady who was walking out.

She glanced around at the blood-stained clouds and exclaimed in shock.

Then, her gaze fell onto Amon, who seemed to have lost his sanity.

Noticing the cuts and bruises on his skin, she was astonished and pained internally.

Helena glanced at the old lady without any emotion in her eyes as she noticed the granny walking towards Amon.

There was a part of Amon urging him to continue attacking. However, another part of him became calm and serene, sending the messy thoughts to the back of his mind gradually.

"Amon, boy," the granny called out as she walked up to Amon and finally patted him.

Dazed, Amon's eyes slowly regained their clarity…

He was silent for a few short minutes before the memory of all that had happened, along with the unbearable, itchy pain, came crashing down like a tide.

Internally, Amon's mind was screaming, and a vein popped on his head as he tried to suppress the pain.

It moved like a searing wave throughout his body, especially to the parts where he had sustained the most injuries.

"Amon, boy," the old granny called out again, causing Amon to turn towards her with his red eyes.

His eyes, however, weren't red due to a loss of sanity, but rather because he was trying to suppress the pain!

"Come with me…" The granny pulled Amon by his hand.

She gave a brief glance at Helena before leading him into the house.

'Would have been a little troublesome to fight him,' Helena lampooned in her heart as she dropped the axe to the ground, then swept her gaze across the blood-stained clouds.

Her eyes momentarily fixed on the second cloud hovering not too far away before she let out a breath and walked towards one of the bodies, beginning to pull it towards the edge of the cloudy cliff.

With another light push, the body fell off the clouds, dropping endlessly into the blank space below.

She moved onto the next body and continued pushing them down one at a time.

Meanwhile, Amon followed the granny inside the house.

With a hasty expression, she rushed further inside and took out what looked like an ointment.

Amon didn't protest in the slightest as he collapsed onto the chair.

The granny proceeded to rub the ointment on his open wounds.

At first, the unbearable pain increased somewhat. Then, over time, it gradually reduced until it became slightly endurable.

Amon stared at the granny gratefully and thanked her.

The granny nodded and placed the balm to the side before walking to the opposite chair and sitting down.

"Helena!" she called out.

Although her voice wasn't loud, it was enough to spread into the surroundings of the clouds.

A few moments of silence passed before Helena stepped in through the door.

She glanced at the old lady and went to sit beside Amon.

Staring at the two of them, the granny's eyes flickered with hesitation, then resolve.

"Here!" She tossed an object to Helena.

"Take this and head to the Myriad Ponds. There, you will find an old friend of mine. He should have a way to deal with the 'sin' in your bodies. If it keeps up like this, you both will become uncontrollable and lose your rationality."

Helena caught it and noticed it was a gold coin engraved with two fish heads crossing each other.

She returned her gaze, which finally held some emotion, to the old granny.

"Granny, is that really necessary?"

The granny glared at Helena and said:

"Look at him." She pointed at Amon. "He almost lost his life, and you're asking if that's necessary?"

"I don't want anything to happen to the both of you!" The granny was slightly enraged.

Having spent ten years with Amon and Helena, she had come to consider them like her own children.

So, seeing Amon in such a state brought a sense of restlessness to her heart.

What if she had died?

Would Amon and Helena have fought with each other, with only one of them coming out alive in the end?

'No, I can't let that happen!' The old lady shook her head internally, resolving herself not to let that occur.

As such, even though it was something a little precious, she gave it to Helena without hesitation.

Continuing, she said, "Use the other cloud there. I'll teach you a mechanism to control it. Since you're now a 'sinner', you should have some access to a mysterious energy I call 'ether'. Using it, you can control the clouds and leave here, heading to the realm of faes and returning back."

Hearing her words, Helena's eyes flashed briefly, and ultimately she nodded.

'Is she talking about divine energy?' Amon guessed silently in his heart.

It seemed the old lady didn't know the true name for divine energy.

'Is this what all star beasts call it, or does this just apply to her?' Amon muttered thoughtfully, unable to come to a conclusion on the matter.

"We'll rest up for a bit before going a few days later. It shouldn't change much, right?" Helena said with a slight frown.

The granny thought briefly, then stared at them.

"It won't change much, but the sooner you go, the sooner you can return. I'll be too lonely these next couple of days," the granny said with some emotion in her voice.

Sighing, Helena stepped forward to console the granny.

Meanwhile, in her hand she held the coin, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of her lips.

'Interesting…' she mused in her mind.

After taking a light meal prepared by Helena and the old granny, Amon went to his room and fell asleep.

The night was particularly restless, and the wind seemed a little more chilly than before.

Amon tossed a few times, feeling a little restless in his heart.

In his perception, the night was very short, and before long he woke up, startled.

Exhaling and feeling the pain racking through his body, he forced himself up.

He stretched a bit and walked out from the thatched room to practice.

As he walked atop the clouds, he noticed the dried bloodstains and the visible decrease of bodies around.

Amon turned to the farmland, hoping to spot Helena, as she usually trained by this time.

Then, his eyes raised slightly in surprise.

For the first time in ten years, Helena wasn't present!

Amon pondered briefly, then didn't pay any attention to her again.

He was just about to go and start his training when he noticed something…

The floating cloud… was gone?

"What?"

Stunned, Amon quickly raced to the edge of the place and noticed that the floating clouds had truly disappeared.

His mind swirled with many thoughts as he rushed back into the thatched hut, feeling a bad premonition in his heart.

He swung the door open and didn't find the granny in the familiar place she usually sat.

Pushing the other part of the house open, he didn't find Helena.

"They left?" Realization dawned on Amon as he thought in shock.

Searching through the house, he didn't spot the old granny or Helena, finally confirming his guess.

"This…" Amon was speechless.

Staring at the endless skies surrounding him, his heart was filled with anger.

'Helena!'
