Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 68: Angel of Death vs Devil of Destruction

"He's here huh…" Helena stood up and dusted off her clothes.

"Who?" Amon asked curiously as he stood up as well.

Helena's gaze remained fixed in the far-off distance as her expression became complex and solemn.

Amon stared intently and noticed something rushing towards them at lightning speed.

He noticed it was a bright orange light moving at lightning speed and heading straight in his direction.

The bright orange light seemed like a ball of flame, and as the searing mass moved, it tore through the air at blinding speed.

"Let's get our weapons, it seems danger… has finally arrived."

Amon's eyes narrowed instantly. He glanced back at the ball of light rapidly heading toward them, then let out a faint, shaky breath and followed Helena.

Internally, there was a faint thrill surging through his body, and the fighting intent in Amon's heart was hard to suppress.

His hands and feet gave off subtle tremor signs as he walked. 169

Ten years!

It had been more than ten years since Amon last fought. And even then, it was just something extremely minor.

They soon reached the farm rack where they kept farm tools.

Helena walked up to it and took an axe, then grabbed another one and tossed it to him.

Amon caught it and swung it a few times, the slight tremble in his hands increasing faintly.

BANG!

A terrifying explosion resounded as Amon felt his movements destabilize instantly.

He struggled to stabilize himself due to the force.

Helena also didn't seem to be in good shape, as her hair immediately became disheveled.

Thankfully, after the slight shake, they soon regained their mobility.

Amon glanced at Helena to make sure she was alright, then turned toward the distant clouds.

Savage growls were echoing faintly from where the collision had spread.

"Let's go…" Helena stood up and quickened her pace, heading in the direction of the sound without hesitation.

"Okay," Amon nodded and also increased his pace.

Within mere moments, the two had arrived at the location.

The clouds there at the edge where they usually sat had shattered, and a few fragments were floating gently, drifting into the air…

A few meters away from the drifting clouds was another floating cloud that seemed to be of similar size as the others.

"Kill! Kill kill!" loud shouts erupted from the group as they charged onto Amon's clouds.

Amon was a little startled as he stared at them.

There, a group of men charged at them.

The men were dressed in rags, and their eyes were red and filled with bloodlust, a sign that they had lost all rationality.

"Sinners!" Helena spat, "killing endlessly till they've lost their sense of reasoning."

Her eyes were filled with slight killing intent as she faced the group charging toward them.

Amon counted and realized that they numbered up to twenty, and there were still others charging from the floating cloud.

"Won't killing us brand us as sinners?" Amon asked curiously.

Helena pondered for a bit.

"That's true. But the significance of our sin would be so much less."

She paused briefly, then continued. "Still, we're forced to kill them."

"Forced to kill them? Why?" Amon asked curiously.

"Remember the giant hand from before?" Helena asked suddenly.

Amon's mind drifted to ten years ago when they had almost been killed by the giant hand.

"Yes." he nodded.

"If we don't kill them, because of the exaggerated level of 'sin' here, this island will be destroyed as well."

Amon fell into a little bit of thought and glanced around.

"In that case…" Amon exclaimed, then charged at the approaching men.

BANG!

Without hesitation, he swung his axe toward the head of a man in front.

Instantly, it pierced through his head without much resistance, and the sound of the man's skull shattering echoed.

He let out a shout akin to a growl before crashing to the ground.

Amon struggled to pull out his axe from the man's head, then raised his eyes to meet three more men standing in front of him.

All three men held different weapons, and their faces were filled with ferocity.

Amon's hands twitched as a sense of bloodlust began blooming in his heart.

Suppressing it with all his might, he swung his axe at the man in front while dodging the attacks of the other two with the agility of his youth.

To the side, Helena was having things far easier.

Her movements were extremely graceful and fluid as she sidestepped, then used her axe to easily chop off the head of a sinner.

Dodging to the side in an elegant manner, the spear strike aimed at her midsection missed her by a hair's breadth.

Then, with another slender movement, her axe made a downward sweeping motion as she sliced off the hand of another sinner with a sickening sound.

Helena didn't seem bothered in the least bit as she killed the sinners like chopping off the heads of animals.

Just as she had told Amon…

She considered humans as merely… ants.

Her eyes were filled with the indifference of one looking down on the world as she made the whole killing seem like a work of art.

As time grew, Amon was finding it hard to control his killing intent.

The stench of blood that filled the air and drifted into his nose didn't make it any easier.

And with the numerous men trooping in from the clouds, as time passed, he increased the brutality of his attacks, ignoring the injuries in his skin.

Amon chopped off the leg of a sinner and heaved deeply, then felt a stinging pain on his back.

With a low growl, he turned to the side, causing the sound of a twig snapping to echo.

The spear that had been embedded into his right shoulder had been snapped in two, its head remaining embedded in his skin.

Amon felt a wave of excruciating pain, but at the same time, the urge to kill in his heart grew.

So, ignoring the pain, he immediately lunged at the man who had stabbed him.

The man seemed to recover from his dazed state momentarily.

But the next moment, Amon snapped off his head with a sickening pop, causing it to tilt to the side.

SHINK! SHINK!

Simultaneously, two more weapons pierced him, and a sword sliced off a piece of his ear.

A ringing sound filled his mind instantly as Amon's thoughts grew hazy.

Seeing his life flash before his eyes, Amon picked up his axe and began swinging it around wildly.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

He was unaware of who he was hitting, but he could tell that the bodies around him were gradually piling up into a miniature mountain.

Amon stood atop the mountain of bodies and glanced down with bloodlust, realizing that no one was approaching him anymore.

He roared into the skies like a wild beast and swung his axe around.

With the blood of humans soaking his robes, Amon seemed no different than a monster from hell.

Helena stared at him, then glanced at all the men she had killed and shrugged before walking up to him.

"Calm down… you're losing your rationality."

At her words, Amon turned to her, his eyes still blood-red and gleaming with ferocity.

There… was still one person left?

He let out a low growl as he stomped on the mountain of bodies, causing them to tumble slightly.

Jumping down from it, he landed firmly on the ground and glanced at Helena with intense killing intent.

Helena looked completely elegant, an extremely stark contrast to Amon, who looked like a demon.

Brandishing her axe, she stared at Amon expressionlessly.

"Get a grip of yourself, or do you need me to knock some sense into you?"

Amon could vaguely tell she was saying words but didn't understand what she was saying.

So without hesitation, he… attacked.

Blood splattered around as his axe tore through the air.

Elegantly, Helena sighed and swung her axe with a graceful motion.

The two collided, and immediately, it was like a dance between the angel of war and the devil of destruction…
