Helena's heart was filled with shock as she watched Amon vanish.
The laid-back smile on his face as he did so casually caused her heart to drop to rock bottom.
'He knew! He knew everything… and I have been played like a fool.'
Helena's heart shook once more as she recalled everything that had happened up to this point.
Back then, when she had asked Amon to follow her to the star gate, he had been hesitant, but in the end there was still some confidence in his eyes.
She hadn't thought much about it before because she didn't think Amon could change much in this star gate, but now…
With how things had developed, she understood everything!
Killing the youth… although it was her order, Amon had most likely subconsciously made her think that way.
Then, there was also their stay for ten years.
Amon was casual during that time… too casual…
All the little things she had ignored came crashing down and realization dawned on her.
She thought she could try to be a chess player for once.
…but she was turned into Amon's chess piece!
'Damnation!' Helena cursed in her heart as she glared at everyone in the surroundings.
"Who are you? What are you doing here???" the leader asked, staring at Helena with caution.
At some point, a spear had appeared in her hand as she watched Helena's movements closely.
Should she show any sign of malice, they wouldn't hesitate to kill her.
"Did he enter the mountain?" Helena gritted her teeth and asked.
"The mountain?" the leader was stunned.
"He is master's disciple. Isn't he supposed to enter into the master's holy ground?" the leader looked at Helena in confusion.
Narrowing her eyes, she said solemnly, "State who you are and your reason for being here."
Helena took out the coin from her pocket and tossed it to the lady.
"This… this…" the leader was speechless.
She stared at the coin in disbelief, then took out another similar coin from her chest area.
Both of them were exactly the same, and the strange aura about them was the same as well.
One couldn't tell the difference between both coins in the slightest.
"What? What's going on here?" the leader questioned. "You are an impostor?"
'What?' Helena's heart was also filled with an unsettling amount of shock as she stared at the coin in the lady's hand.
How were there two coins?
Based on what she was certain of, there was only one coin!
It was no wonder Amon hadn't been killed.
'In that case… he also entered the mountain and took that treasure… the heaven creation stone!!!' Helena gritted her teeth in anger and felt like puking blood.
It was the first time she had ever felt such intense emotions toward someone, and it was a wave of anger toward Amon.
'How had he been able to enter the mountain peak? I had to enter the royal treasury and obtain a treasure containing a wisp of the strange energy before even deciding to continue with my plan… did he also calculate this far?'
Helena had always known that Amon was different. After all, he wasn't supposed to exist.
But to be so calculative to this extent…
Helena suddenly felt some regret for bringing Amon here.
'If I hadn't, wouldn't he still have come anyway?'
Who knew if Amon had thoughts of coming here before she dragged him along.
Helena wanted to console herself, but she didn't have a way to.
"I'll ask you one more time. Who are you???" the leader pointed the tip of her spear in Helena's direction and asked with a frown.
"Hmph!" Helena snorted in anger, then took a light step forward.
Instantly, her surroundings shattered like fragile glass, and a dense aura of death permeated through the surroundings.
The space seemed to be disintegrating at a speed visible to the naked eye.
All the women took an involuntary step back, retreating and distancing themselves from Helena.
Staring at them, Helena snorted as she appeared atop the lake and took hold of an orange ball of light.
Swallowing her soul, she glanced back at the surroundings in anger once more before her body collapsed into the river.
She never expected to not gain anything in this unique star gate, but instead benefit the mastermind.
'How frustrating…'
…
Amon felt his vision become muddy, and so did his perception.
Then, he realized he was standing atop the river, just a few paces away from the calm center of the lake.
Amon glanced around and noticed that the skies were still dark.
"After ten years… I finally return back to the real world…" Amon muttered faintly.
Suddenly, a mysterious energy crashed onto his body.
Amon's eyes widened in shock as he felt this strange energy altering his body in different ways.
His primordial energy was increasing at an alarming rate, and the grade of the thirteenth core was changing visibly.
Instantly, feeling that the core had reached deep white, Amon immediately channeled the energy into forming another core.
Internally, Aegon seemed to have sensed the situation.
Without hesitation, he opened his mouth and a suction force erupted.
Immediately, Amon felt as though most of the energy had been drained.
Alarmed, Amon shifted his attention into his body and realized the primordial dragon was responsible.
The remaining energy was only able to form the fourteenth core to its peak and faint wisps of the fifteenth core.
"Aegon. What happened?" Amon asked incredulously.
'Dad… I feel my strength has increased. If I can absorb another energy of that amount, I should be able to create higher rank things.'
"What?" Amon was alarmed as he stared intently at the primordial dragon. "Is what you said true?"
Aegon nodded his head.
Immediately, Amon fell silent.
It had been over ten years since the primordial dragon had advanced.
For ten years, he could only create D-rank gifts. If Aegon advanced…
'Then I can change all my gifts to C-rank, causing my strength to have a substantial increase…'
Amon's eyes glowed brightly as he thought of this.
Just as he was pondering what steps to take next, a slight ripple echoed in the river.
Instantly, Amon tapped his feet on the river and explosively shot backward.
In the place where he previously stood, space shattered like glass, and the fragments spilled into the river.
The ocean below seemed to have cracked slightly, interrupting the flow of the water.
Amon raised his gaze mid-air and noticed a slender figure clad in silver robes staring at him with anger and hatred.
"Helena…" Amon whispered.
"Amon!" Helena spat hatefully…
The air seemed to freeze as both youths stared at each other, the tension palpable.
"Who are you?" Helena narrowed her eyes and asked.
Amon was taken aback by the question, and for a brief instant he felt that he had been transported to the first time he and Helena met.
This was also the first question she had asked him.
"I'm Amon. Amon Adam." Amon still gave the same reply and smiled at her.
Helena narrowed her eyes even more, and the space around her seemed to distort at her command.
"How long have you been planning all this? How can you prove you are completely human?"
Chuckling, Amon replied:
"How about you? How am I certain that you are human? And what plan are you talking about?"
Amon let out an exasperated sigh and continued, "I get it, you left me to rot. You wanted to obtain all these good things for yourself… but…"
Amon narrowed his eyes and said coldly, "You failed, didn't you?"
As he finished speaking, the air in front of him distorted as something appeared in his grasp.
"A star artifact?" Helena whispered, understanding that this was the star artifact Amon had likely gotten in the behemoth tower.
Amon held the star artifact and drew its blade.
Instantly, the already dark skies seemed to darken even more…
