Primordial Awakening: Limitless Growth With Ex Rank Ability

Chapter 82: Damien's Knowledge

A woman with grey hair and eyes stepped into the classroom from the shabby door.

Instantly, a devastating pressure descended onto Amon, and he felt his knees almost give out under its weight.

Amon glanced at her with some struggle, his eyes shrinking slightly.

'The school head? What's the school head doing here?' instinctively, he thought that Helena was responsible.

'But that can't be the case…' Amon froze, then realised he didn't understand the gift at all, which meant…

'It might actually be the case!' Amon's eyes narrowed as he kept his head low.

The school head approached with light steps and passed Amon, the faint scent of banana and vanilla lingering slightly in his nose.

Amon felt slightly dumbfounded.

At that moment, his eyes fell on Damien, and he couldn't help but be bewildered for a moment.

Damien's face was slightly red, and there was a hint of embarrassment as he stood upright, glancing at her without much emotion.

Still, despite his expression remaining unchanged, he stared at her with caution.

Finally, the school head reached Damien and stared at him blankly for a few seconds.

"I heard about your behaviours these past few days."

Her voice was gentle but filled with coldness. Still, Amon could sense she didn't harbor any bad intentions toward Damien as she spoke.

It seemed it was just… her manner of speaking?

Amon listened in with his head remaining low, his black hair spilling over and obscuring his vision.

Damien seemed to stiffen at her words.

Then, he replied with some hesitation, "I was just looking after my disciple."

The school head glanced at him, then shook her head.

"I don't know why my father decided to prioritize you as a guest at our school. I truly don't get it. Still, since he said we shouldn't deliver any punishment of some sort to you, I'll keep to his words."

She paused mid-speech, then continued with a neutral expression.

"However, tone down on the disrespect to my teachers!"

Damien nodded slightly. "As long as they stay out of my disciple's business."

"Cough, cough," suddenly, the school head let out a series of strange coughs, and her expression seemed to change considerably.

Soon, however, it regained its previous pale shade, eliminating all traces of darkness.

She raised her grey eyes to meet Damien's, and the whole world seemed to freeze slightly as their gazes met.

"I don't need your help," the school head shrugged off Damien's hand and distanced herself a little.

Damien let out a light cough and nodded. "How's your health?"

"I'm fine," the school head answered with a dismissive expression.

Then she turned to Amon and stared at him for a few seconds.

"This is your disciple?"

Damien nodded and gave Amon a slightly raised brow.

"Greetings, school head. My name is Amon Adam!" Amon said calmly, offering a respectful bow to the principal.

"Amon Adam? Of the Adam family?" she asked skeptically.

"Yes."

She seemed to think for a few seconds before shrugging once more. She gave Damien a fleeting glance before retreating, her light green robes swaying with her steps.

"Scarlet… I promise to obtain the treasure from the forgotten land of gods and heal you…" Amon heard Damien whisper under his breath.

Instantly, his eyes narrowed slightly at Damien's words.

He wanted to ask what this was about, but feeling that it might be a little inappropriate, he kept his mouth shut.

Still, he realised something surprising.

'Damien seems to have feelings for… the school head? Is it one-sided, or do they have some form of conflict? She behaved coldly toward him. What could be the reason for that?'

Many questions popped into Amon's mind in an instant, and he was itching for all the answers.

Just then, Damien's expression changed slightly, and he turned to Amon with the laid-back, casual smile still on his face.

It seemed as though he had become a different person entirely.

Amon felt speechless at the change, but he still retained his calm facade.

"What were we talking about… right. I said I was going to teach you a battle art."

Damien walked forward and asked Amon curiously, "What kind of battle art do you want to learn?"

Amon pondered the question for a short while.

The sword arts he had were good. However, since they were merely at the initiate stage, they didn't bring much change to his strength.

Now, he could face those at a higher realm mainly because he was being backed by his gifts.

If he wanted to be stronger, he could only do so by using another set of sword arts entirely.

Then there was also his movement technique. Amon felt he had to increase his speed, as that was one of the aspects he was lacking the most.

And then came defense. At first, he wanted to work on his defense, but thinking about it from another angle…

Whenever he was being beaten, his state usually surged with more and more fighting intent.

In that case, perhaps having weak defense was a good thing.

Amon contemplated thoughtfully for a few seconds before relaying what he wished to learn to Damien.

Damien's eyes whirled with a bit of thought before he nodded.

"In that case, we will start with sword arts. I created a few back in my time. In fact, I created some pretty interesting sword arts… let me teach you one of my favorites."

As Damien finished speaking, he stretched out his hand, and a wooden sword appeared.

"Let's head to the training arena in the meantime."

Amon's eyes glowed briefly in surprise, astounded at the fact that there was actually a training arena.

'It might be because I have just been at the academy for barely a few days that I don't know much about these things.'

Exhaling, he followed behind Damien briskly.

Soon, they appeared at a crowded courtyard filled with roughly thirty students.

Amon noticed a few familiar faces, including Mei Aiko and the guy he had met, Lu Tiannian.

He spared them a glance before shifting his attention completely and following Damien.

With how spacious the courtyard was, the instructor with Mei Aiko and the others only took up roughly half of it, which was demarcated by an iron net.

Still, Amon could tell that despite being an iron net, it was far from ordinary, as there were no signs of it being destroyed despite lasting for a long time.

Damien also spared them a glance and snickered slightly. "Childish techniques."

Amon fell speechless at Damien's words but didn't pay it much mind.

They finally reached the center of the courtyard, attracting the gazes of a few interested students.

"The sword art I'm about to teach you is called the Mountain and River Sword Art. Since it's a high-rank sword art, it should take you some time to master…"

"It is a sword art that emphasizes momentum and fluidity."

As he explained, Damien stroked the sword and continued.

"The body needs to have the stability and weight of a mountain. It should be forceful enough to crush like one."

"Then, that's where the 'river' comes in. It should also be fluid like a river. There shouldn't be any stiffness of a mountain in your movements. Rather, your movements should flow freely like the wind. And like a river, it should be able to destroy all obstacles in its way."

As Damien finished explaining, he slashed the wooden sword in his hand, causing a loud roar to echo through the air.
