Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 139: Stolen Singularity

"Are you trying to play us?" The offended guardian bellowed. "At this point you are going to suggest we let a mere Titan pass!"

The calm guardian stayed silent. What the new arrival wanted was simply out of the question.

Gritting his teeth, the anxious alien moved closer, whispering something in their ears.

"...!"

The eyes of guardians enlarged, fear gripping their hearts.

"WHAT?!" They shouted in unison.

"You know that lying about this is no different than courting death!" The angry guard barked.

Meanwhile, the calm one let out a sigh. "I will take your words as truth. I doubt anyone would be so stupid as to lie about such a thing…"

With a simple gesture of its hand, the guardian caused the colossal gates to tremble as they slowly creaked open.

"May the stars bless you." With a bow of appreciation, the alien entered.

'Get it together, Max. You are simply reporting the observations. As long as you stay obedient, they will not kill you.' The alien named Max reassured himself.

When an alien reached a certain level of spiritual energy residing within their body, they earned the ability to choose a gender. Max was one of those who chose to become male and had named himself.

The more he walked forwards in the abysmal darkness, the more anxious Max felt, yet he knew stopping here was not an option.

"It has been more than a millennium since someone dared to disturb us."

While Max was lost in his own thoughts, a heavy voice sounded in the dark void, halting him in place.

Thud!

At that moment his knees buckled, giving out all strength. His head hit the ground, a cold shiver running across his body awaiting judgment.

'One, two, three…'

Max didn't know how or when it happened, but suddenly he was surrounded. Even his heightened senses, far sharper than those of nearly every living being in the universe, had failed to detect their presence.

Now bowing on the ground, being gazed at by existences that could kill him without even lifting a finger. Max felt like a mouse in a lion's den.

No, even worse. A mouse would at least be able to squeal as it perished, yet he would not dare to utter a sound, unless permitted, too scared to disturb the Ancient Ones.

"You may speak. Why have you come here?" A cold feminine voice sounded.

Before Max's lips could purse, another voice resonated.

"Raise your head. If I see someone about to die simply by being in our presence again, I really am going to crash out!"

"He is simply showing the proper respect, Adonis."

"I don't give a single shit! Do you remember how many stars perished last time I went on a rampage? Don't anger me again, Seraphina!"

Bearing witness to the argument of the Eternals, Max could only wait. One wrong move would spell death.

The Ancient Ones were Eternals, beings above all other life in the universe, destined to exist forever. They were the rulers of the Etrox race, a species that would soon dominate everything that existed.

Few had ever seen them fight, but they didn't need to. Just one look at their auras made it obvious that no being could compare to them. The rulers of other races who had witnessed the Eternals in person abandoned all thoughts of resistance. They collapsed to their knees, just like Max had, begging the Eternals to let their species survive and serve under them.

This was how terrifying they truly were. They didn't need to exterminate the inferior races, just enslave them to work under them.

The only ones who could pose a real threat were other Eternals. Members of empires that, like them, sought to conquer and control all life in existence.

It wasn't an unknown fact that the Eternals of the Etrox race were on bad terms. Max was simply unlucky to walk in when two of the godlike beings were in a sour mood.

'Why did they have to start arguing right now?!' His body began to sweat, soon to be undone by the aura the two bickering Eternals were emitting.

Just as he had accepted his own demise, a sound echoed in the darkness. Coming from a source Max couldn't detect, no matter how hard he tried.

"Shhh."

"..."

Even though Max couldn't see the source of the sound. The way the Eternals instantly obeyed spelled it out clearly enough.

"...God." He exclaimed, going against his better judgment.

A second later his face paled even more, realizing he dared to speak in front of the true ruler without permission.

Yet to his surprise, he didn't die.

"You may call me God only once I have conquered all life. Until then, you shall address me by my realm, just as you do with the Eternals." The owner of the voice, belonging to a male, commanded.

Gulping audibly, Max obeyed.

"As you wish… Primordial."

The last cultivation realm known to exist, with only a handful of existences to ever achieve it.

Letting out a sigh, the Primordial voice resonated again.

"Now tell me, why have you come here? If the guardians have permitted your entry, it has to be something important. Could it be that one of the opposing empires has fallen? Or perhaps one of their rulers has come to challenge me openly?"

In the Primordial's eyes there were only a few matters that would concern him or the Eternals.

With countless stars and planets under their control, they wouldn't bother themselves with trifling matters like the existence of inferior races or the small intergalactic wars that were happening all over the universe.

'Here goes nothing.' Gathering courage, Max answered.

"We have sent thousands of scout teams, read the data millions of times up until now, and even cooperated with the other opposing empires in case we were making a mistake. In the end we all came to the same unanimous conclusion…"

"Somehow, Singularis has disappeared as if blinked out of existence… The Celestial treasure has been stolen, and no one knows who took it."

Max's words were left hanging in the air, as for the first time in history. Not a single Eternal nor the Primordial himself knew what to say.
