Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 138: Urgent Audience

"HAHAHA!" Taken by surprise, Michael put a hand over his stomach as he erupted into laughter.

He was ready to take the alien's words to heart, yet the creature proved to be too moronic. Was this really how the others of its race viewed him?

"Even now, at death's door, you remain delusional until the very end!" The sight of the Overlord was almost pitiful by that point.

"You really revere your rulers as if they are some kind of gods? To presume that your existence could be placed on the same level as the divine… Your arrogance truly knows no bounds."

Michael's laughter caused something to shatter in the Overlord. Unable to comprehend his words, the monster descended into despair.

"STAY AWAY!" It bellowed.

Finding the creature's voice insufferable, Michael opted to silence it.

"Shhh."

By putting a finger over his lips, he instantly silenced the Overlord. Regardless of how much it wanted to retaliate, its soul couldn't act against Michael.

For the next few minutes, which stretched into an eternity from the alien's perspective, Michael devoted himself to maximizing its suffering.

Yet the entire time the alien's maw remained closed, too scared to utter even a single plea, obeying Michael's order.

Michael didn't know if reincarnation truly existed, as his case was rather special. Still, just to be sure, he shattered the being's soul, ensuring it was erased forever.

Nothing in the world would be able to bring it back.

"Job's done." Michael sighed tiredly. The moment the Overlord's soul was destroyed, his consciousness adjusted to the material world once again.

"Goddamn cold." He muttered, rubbing his hands against one another, attempting to generate heat.

The Neptune blizzards were still raging, and the wounds he had accumulated from killing the Elites and the General made his temperature drop even faster than normal.

Unwilling to traverse the cold unarmed, he summoned Devil's Tongue.

"Why couldn't we be sent to a warm planet instead?" Michael complained, getting sick of the surroundings.

'Oh, I agree! It would be even better if there were a pool or something. Seeing the girls in swimsuits would be a feast for the eyes!' Devil's Tongue laughed.

Michael chuckled, feeling relieved that the soul weapon didn't question him on why he had called it back into his soul out of nowhere. He would rather keep some things to himself.

'Caught you! You chuckled, so you must really want to see them half-naked!' The soul weapon remarked.

With a shake of his head, Michael didn't elaborate further.

Rushing towards Celestia, he was ready to aid the human troops in eliminating the alien threat.

But when he reached them, he realized that the sounds of battle had already ceased.

They had won, and the city was liberated.

'We eliminate the threat, yet the quest to Liberate Neptune isn't complete yet. As I thought, either there are more Overlords hidden somewhere or something above them is waiting.' Michael mused.

The result didn't surprise him in the slightest. From the moment the quest had appeared, it was marked as impossible. If its task was easy to complete, the rewards weren't going to be so generous.

"H—Help!" A rugged voice came from his side.

With the battle over, there were many people in need of assistance, both soldiers and civilians who had managed to slip away from the aliens that had lingered in the city.

Since he still had work to do, he opted to help only those in critical condition.

"Michael!"

At some point a familiar voice called out to him.

"Where were you? I began to get worried when I didn't see you in the entire battle!" Victoria said.

He shrugged.

"There were a few things that we had overlooked, so I had to deal with them." Michael said, concealing the whole truth.

If Victoria or his crew were to learn that he had shattered the soul of the Overlord, he wouldn't get off by claiming he was lucky or that the alien was exhausted.

Her eyes narrowed in suspicion for a fraction of a second, but she didn't pursue the matter. Knowing Michael and his ability to hack any alien's network, she wouldn't blame him if he was hiding a thing or two.

"Never mind that. I need you for a minute!" He said, grabbing her soft hand and leading the way.

"Huh?!" Taken by surprise, Victoria's face flushed red. Her blood that was still running hot from the recent battle certainly didn't help her keep a calm mind.

While Celestia had descended into pure chaos, with many wounded and in need of assistance, a certain star drifted calmly, an unknown number of light-years away from the Milky Way Galaxy.

In there, an existence that wielded enough power to erase planets with a flick of a finger walked hurriedly through an impossibly long hallway.

"Shit! Fuck! I am screwed! We are so screwed! How did this happen?!" The alien muttered in dejection. Out of habit, it had begun to bite its nails anxiously, trying to calm down its emotions.

"HALT!"

At a certain point, a powerful voice swept over the area. Its weight alone could cause mountains to topple, yet the anxious alien didn't seem much affected by the pressure, as it simply came to a stop.

Before it, two guardians of unfathomable power stood, protecting a colossal gate.

"An existence as lowly as you certainly has some gall to appear in front of the Eternal's quarters!" The first guardian bellowed, offended by the audacity of the creature.

"What is your reason for coming here? You must know the consequences of disturbing the Ancient Ones needlessly." The second appeared calmer than its colleague.

A cold shiver ran down the spine of the alien. It had heard about the eternity of torment punishment. It was safe to say that this was the most cursed fate a living being could go through.

Doing everything in its power to avoid such fate, it lifted its gaze, staring right at the two guardians. With panic etched into its face, its lips pursed as it shouted in pure horror.

"It's urgent! Make way and gather the Eternals. I seek immediate audience with God!"
