Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 154: Calculated Insolence

Grr?

Before the unit a creature suddenly appeared. It was undoubtedly the queen of the hive. She rivaled the mecha tigers in height. Several limbs protruded from her back, and her wide jaw looked capable of swallowing a human in a single bite.

BZZZZ!

As she stared at the human in curiosity, managing to see past Natalia's concealment technique. The swarm continued to blissfully fly overhead.

Michael was unpleasantly surprised. Usually the queen would order her minions to deal with any possible threats, prioritizing her safety.

Yet shockingly enough, she didn't. Rather than ensuring her security, she had come out to greet the inflators, as if wanting to challenge them.

'This works in our favor.' Michael thought, gripping his soul weapon tightly. Why the queen was acting cocky didn't matter. Moments like this were rare. They had to kill her before the swarm descended on them.

Thankfully the Grandmasters understood this well enough. In unison they prepared to unleash everything they had.

"What's this?"

Yet before they could, a powerful voice drifted in their ears. A voice that didn't belong to the soldiers.

With a frown, Michael turned to the side. There an alien with an assumed form of a human stood with a menacing smile spreading across its face.

'An Etrox.' Michael realized bitterly. Even worse, the being was undoubtedly a General.

Swush!

In a flash several more Generals appeared, all members of the Etrox's race.

Michael swiftly moved his gaze towards the Ro'trah's queen, eager to observe her reaction.

The queen in turn didn't seem fazed in the slightest by the alien intruders.

'I see…' Michael heaved a sigh.

When the soldiers entered the city, their focus was solely on the hive's queen. They believed there was no possibility of any other threats lurking within the city.

That assumption wasn't without reason. As alien races equal in power didn't cooperate.

It was like expecting water and fire to mix. If one species had enslaved the other and sent them to fight in their stead, it would have made sense. But at this moment, the Ro'trah and Etrox, two species that despised each other to their very core for being unwilling to serve their respective rulers, had come together, united in a single city.

"What the hell is this?!" Grandmaster Noah bellowed. Simultaneously his eyes scanned the surroundings searching for a way out.

The biggest threat was the swarm flying overhead, as these beings wouldn't have a problem eating them up like a snack. If they could kill the queen before she sent orders to her hive, they had a chance of survival.

"A buffet." One of the Etrox answered with a wide smile.

"It has been too long since a human has appeared in our settlement. So we have struck a deal with the lovely mistress…" The being proclaimed, momentarily glancing at the Ro'trah's queen. "She will keep her little children away from your hides, so we can have our fill."

'One thing goes wrong after another!' Noah cursed bitterly in his mind. They had been surrounded by six Generals from the Etrox race. In addition, there was also the Ro'trah's queen watching the scene with anticipation.

The soldiers had to deal a lethal blow to her before she sent the swarm after them. Yet with only six Grandmasters in their unit, it didn't seem possible.

Sure, there were Masters and Experts in their ranks. However, Noah struggled to imagine these soldiers halting the Generals long enough for the Grandmasters to deal with the queen.

'Is allowing ourselves to be taken hostage the only way?' Noah thought. As things stood, if a conflict were to break out, they would be at a severe disadvantage.

Unfortunately the Grandmaster doubted that the aliens would keep them alive for long, as by their words they were hungry.

While Noah and the other soldiers were busy thinking of the best possible course of action, manic laughter erupted in the valley, overriding the loud buzzing overhead.

"HAHAHA!"

Michael put a hand over his stomach, the corners of his eyes getting teary from the sheer absurdity of it all.

"Human, did you go mad?" One of the Generals mused.

"No." Michael shook his head after managing to calm down.

"It's just too hilarious not to laugh… I mean, you aliens always claim we're nothing but mice for you to slaughter. Yet, here you are, teaming up just to face this 'inferior' enemy."

His voice dripped with mockery as he met the gazes of the alien fearlessly.

"If you have to resort to teaming up with your mortal enemies to face us, then what does that make you?"

"..."

The cheerful expressions on the aliens slowly faded, replaced by annoyance.

For the Etroxs, the most satisfying thing was watching their food beg for mercy as they devoured it. But now, their prey not only didn't show any kind of terror, but it was hurling insults right into their faces!

"We are going to make you eat those words…" One of the Generals bellowed.

In turn, Michael's smile widened as he pointed towards the Ro'trah's queen.

"Look! Despite not being able to speak our language, the hideous queen is smiling! She is certainly enjoying the spectacle as you are being humiliated by your prey!"

"...?!"

Making use of their hate for each other, Michael prodded for the Etrox's General to shift their attention to the queen.

A trap all six of them fell for.

WHOOOOSH!

Not letting the moment go to waste. Michael raised his hand and sent the flare signal for Cyberfang and the other tigers to arrive.

Shifting his gaze to the soldiers, he commanded in a voice that didn't leave room for disobeying.

"I and Richard will take care of one General. Ava, Victoria, and Claire another. Cyberfang will aid Leo, Enzo, Amelia, and Bryce for the third one. Evelyn and Stephen will each halt one individually. While the leftover troops take care of the last General, the four remaining Grandmasters will overwhelm the queen before she sends the swarm after us."

Hearing the orders, Richard's eyes instantly began to sparkle in excitement.

For the first time he was going to fight shoulder to shoulder with the Boss!
